Our sites offer privacy off a secluded class four (unmaintained) road, with great tenting or 4WD van camping options to explore our unique parcel or set up basecamp for your Kingdom adventures! We are within 45 minutes of Kingdom Trails, Burke Mountain, Lake Willoughby, the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, Hill Farmstead Brewery, and so much more. Or let your campsite be the destination and enjoy the diverse natural features of our rural property. We're a gravel grinder's paradise, located on a network of dozens of miles of quiet dirt roads, and you can bike right to your site.

Welcome to Feral Picnic Table, one of two private camping sites in the back forty of our rural, mostly forested homestead. We are located in the middle of a world-class gravel grinder's paradise surrounded by hundreds of miles of dirt roads, so be sure to bring your bike - or ride it in! This primitive spot offers full afternoon sun at the picnic table. Pitch up to three two-person tents in the designated spots just into the trees, including one carpeted in deep moss, or pitch a larger tent in the sunshine. This site is accessible by car and pickup truck via a class four (unmaintained) road, and you can drive right to your site, though we recommend 4WD or AWD. At the site, you will find a rustic picnic table, fire ring, and privacy as this is currently one of only two sites we offer. A shared rustic outhouse sits between the sites. Our 47-acre property and the surrounding area are home to barred owls, turkeys, squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits, as well as large animals like deer, moose, and bear. Several beaver ponds are home to beavers, muskrats, ducks, and so many "peepers" in the spring you will question how frogs can possibly be so loud. This site puts you in the middle of innumerable outdoor adventures. Within a half hour of Burke Mountain, Kingdom Trails, and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Within 45 minutes of Hill Farmstead Brewery (rated best beer in the world by RateBeer), pristine Lake Willoughby, and St. Johnsbury's Dog Mountain (home of the Stephen Huneck gallery). That's beside all the nearby stuff you perhaps haven't heard of: the corn maze in Danville, local farmer's markets, the South Wheelock swim hole, 1800s cemeteries within walking distance, swimming and paddling in dozens of lakes, canoeing/kayaking/tubing the Passumpsic or Connecticut Rivers, horseback riding, ATVing...we will share some of our local secrets with you for a real taste of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Pitch a two-person tent in the designated spot in the trees above the crick, or pitch a larger tent in the sunshine. My husband and I had a great 1-night stay on Marina's land. It worked out perfectly for us as a mid-way point between Vermont on our way back to Maine. Though it was a rainy evening, we were able to very easily access the property, find our site and settle in for a comfortable night's rest among the pines. Marina's communication is OUTSTANDING and she made us feel super comfy. Note: for folks unsure about accessing the road to the campsite, we had no problem in our Subaru Outback - easy peasy!

This was our second time this summer camping on Marnia's land. -Always clean -Always mowed perfectly -So peaceful Marina is a great host and is prompt with communication. We'll be back!

This is the second time we have stayed here. It's a beautiful spot and it's nice and private. The only thing we heard were the birds singing. Marina is very responsive and give nice clear instructions on how to find the site. We would definitely camp here again.

Marina was a great host! She was very responsive, understanding, and helpful. Much appreciated and made the stay even better. Campsite is a nice location and not too far of a drive from good hiking trails.

We came to look for property for our retirement homestead and stayed on Marina’s property. I wish it was for sale. There are so many spots to explore and she keeps everything accessible…. Pond, steams, fields and forest. You definitely need a high clearance vehicle (at least after the rains we had) because the road to the entrance is sketchy but the area was quiet and we felt very comfortable. She replied quickly to any questions we had. A great stay and we will be returning!

This is the 2nd visit. This is our favorite new camping spot when visiting. We mountain bike up at Kingdom Trails so this is near by and nice and secluded. Thank you for letting people use your land to enjoy the outdoors.

We had a wonderful 2nd stay are Marina’s property! We arrived to a VERY clean site equipped with a large picnic table, plenty of space for our van and firewood! This is quickly becoming our goto camp spot in the NEK! We will return!

Crickside was a beautiful, secluded spot. So peaceful listening to the running water beside the camp. There’s a second site but far enough away so that you can’t hear or see them, so plenty of privacy. Would definitely go back!!

We camped with a rooftop tent on our Toyota 4Runner. The site was clean and well maintained. The stars were amazing!. The host accomidating and easy to work with. We would absolutely camp here again and highly recommend booking this site.

Beautiful spot for bike packers

Lovely spot. Perfect for bikepacking, which is what brought me there. I loved that it’s only accessible by a class 4 road. The site was serene and felt quite private. Water was easily attained via a creek with a nice cut down to an access point, but of course be prepared to treat it. I’d absolutely stay here again.

The perfect place to getaway! Quiet, private and beautiful. The road was no problem in our van. Plenty of space to spread out, the picnic table is huge and great for cooking. Marina was helpful in answering questions before our trip. The outhouse is rustic but that is all you need. There were a lot of ticks which is to be expected. Already planning our return!

Clean little book nestled off a dirt road in the middle of nowhere. The picnic table is perfect for cooking, eating, and hanging by the fire pit. We set up a tent off in the woods behind the table. There's a couple of mostly level cleared spots to choose from. The creek was dry due to this years drought. Town is about 20 ish minutes out. Beautiful scenery throughout. Especially during the season change. Thanks Marina!

The Feral Picnic table was the perfect little getaway oasis in the woods for the weekend. We loved the homemade picnic table and appreciated the items provided by the host. It was a quiet, secluded, well cared for spot amidst peak foliage, too. We’d love to come to this part of our “NEK backyard” again!
