Wind Walker Homestead

Love the amenities, we were surprised to learn there was a pool, basketball and pickleball. There are no picnic tables in the tent camping area, so plan accordingly. We didn’t get much guidance on where to camp on arrival, brief chat with the host’s son. No contact with the hosts outside of a brief call directing us to chat with someone on property. Both numbers we were given led to full voicemail inboxes. Despite a few surprises we enjoyed our stay. Ephraim has a Walmart and is less than an 15 min drive. Easy to grab anything you might need.

We had a fabulous stay at Wind Walker. It’s a bra location. The sunrise and sunset were gorgeous and the stars were amazing. It was quiet and felt very private. The shower and bathroom are great. Would definitely stay again!

We reserved through Hipcamp but the host never got the reservation and so we showed up and our spots were taken even though they took our money. They said that Hiocamp doesn’t since with their calendar so I wonder why they even use them?

We loved a little weekend away from the city at Cindy's place!! You should be prepared for limited shade in the camping area. The bathroom and shower were perfect for our little family and the pool was a lifesaver on a hot weekend. Thank you!!

Camping with showers; pets allowed!

Lovely spot just a little off Hwy 89. Spacious/not overcrowded, perfect for tent/car camping where there’s a picnic table in some sites, you can get a nice shower and sit on a green grass lawn or in a kind of a sheltered gazebo. I didn’t find a place to rinse my dog bowl, but I might have just missed it. I love that it had insta-booking, as I needed a place to pitch my tent and didn’t know where I’d land until mid-afternoon. The time limit of 9 or 10pm for showers is incorrect according to the man who greeted me. I showered after 11pm. Whew. It has a ping pong table in the hall. All was quiet after 10pm. It’s nothing fancy, but meets all the needs for the right price. And best of all, I could camp with my dog without a million rules being read to me.

The property was amazing! We got in after dark, so we got to enjoy the dark skies and gorgeous stars. There was plenty to do and the amenities are nice. It was the perfect location for us to park our trailer and be close to Ephraim where our son is going to college. Cindy and her husband were welcoming and very kind. I can just imagine how beautiful the weddings are there!

Overall it was a good campground. The amenities offered were great (pool, pool table, ping pong, tether ball, pickle ball, basketball.) The HIP campgrounds are not numbered and anyone can setup anywhere. Case in point, one young couple decided to setup literally 10 feet from our site. Not because it was crowded. Another camper was confused about where to set up and ultimately chose to sleep in the dining hall. I wish there were individual campfire pits. With young kids I didn't feel comfortable putting my children down to sleep and then being out of site and hearing range to be at one of the communal firepits.

I never made it to High Desert Camping. Car blew up 70 miles outa Vegas. I was headed to HDC. I let them know I wasn’t able. Still stuck in Vegas. Haven’t heard from ‘em but why would they?

Overall a lovely place to stay. Cool surprises on the property like basketball and nice swimming pool. Not too far from a couple Of cute little towns for food and supplies. The gentleman that owns the place was really kind and showed us very briefly around and said we could pretty much camp anywhere, which was both friendly and a bit vague. Admittedly, it is part our fault for not planning this further in advance, allowing the hosts to perhaps properly warn us… but the night that we stayed there—-unbeknownst to us —they had also booked a large quinceanera party. I’m all for others having fun and a good time but live music l playing loudly from 5pm till 1:50AM, then clean up music and departing cars with accompanying car alarm beeping until 3:15am was rather disrupting. I Couldn’t sleep a wink until it finally over. All that said, I do believe the hosts are genuinely wonderful people and they have an amazing property that they are willing to share and rent out to others. So that is pretty cool. We would likely be back, but perhaps I would communicate a little extra in advance to be sure there wasn’t anything too large or late going on that evening.

We loved camping here. It was secluded and quiet, our little ones really enjoyed visiting the animals nearby. The shower and bathroom were both nice and clean.

There are great things about this campsite as well as some areas of improvement: Pros: 1. There is a pool, bathrooms, and overall a great space to camp. Cons: 1. No fires allowed other than the communal pit, which is no ideal. Cooking was though. 2. The campsite is dog friendly but other campers were harassing us because our pup was running around. We did talk to the host about it and they tried to amend the issue, however your campsite is either pet friendly or isn’t. The other campers were just bluntly rude and disrespectful and the host should’ve gave them move to another space. 2. Bathrooms could’ve been neater. 3. No kitchen (we tried to ask for the communal one and no answer.

Best tent camping experience ever!

We had the most wonderful time at Wind Walker! We stayed in a tent spot, and were less than a minute walk away from the swimming pool with bathroom and shower. It was so much fun to go down and swim at the end of the day to cool off before going to bed. We really enjoyed going down to see the peacocks, and we even got to see the baby peacocks! This is definitely a place we want to return to and stay for longer next time! Cindy and her family were delightful as well.

Wind Walker Homestead made the perfect basecamp for a climbing weekend at nearby Maple Canyon (23 min drive). The property was quiet and peaceful, with all the amenities you need. Bathroom and shower was clean. A pair of lambs roamed the property, and nearby were pens of goats and chickens that were fun to watch. You pick your site when you arrive, which is nice as you can space out from other sites and there is little to no noise from other folks. If you stay up late the stars are amazing too!
