Kolob Campground, Kolob Terrace Road, and Kolob Reservoir is a quiet location nestled between the main canyons of Zion National Park and the remote Kolob Finger Canyons Complex at Zion National Park, about 40 minutes from Virgin Utah. With quick access to West Rim Trail, Subway Canyon, Hop Valley Trail, and Wildcat Canyon Trail, this area of Greater Zion is not to be missed. Located in a private gated area on the shores of Kolob Reservoir, Kolob Campground is the premiere location for camping on Kolob Mountain in the Greater Zion National Park area. Loved the location as it was convenient to access the West Rim Trail along with a couple others nearby . View of the lake was beautiful and the campsite itself wasn't busy during my time of visit . Beautiful time to go see Zion . Owner was very informative as well . Amazing trip to say the least !

Kolob is always beautiful! It was also my friends’ first time visiting, and they absolutely loved it. A few things though ; we weren’t informed ahead of time that the General Store was closed, so we had to drive back to town (about 45 minutes each way) to grab some last-minute essentials. Unfortunately, we had to go home a day early because there was construction right in front of our campsite, which really ruined the whole camping experience. On the bright side, I have AT&T and surprisingly had signal, so I was able to call and update my family.

We LOVED the drive up to the reservoir and the sunset was absolutely amazing. It’s a no frills campground, but gives you good access to some lesser known trail heads. The bathrooms were not great :(

Kolob was a wonderful getaway for my birthday! Was trying to find a campsite close to Zion (that wasnt already booked out) and Kolob had a lot of availability! It was everything I was looking for in the sense of no light polution and getting off the grid, while also maintaining a great level of accomodation and safety! The stars were absolutely stunning! The campground was large and not as much rocks/uneven grounding for the tent. Only downside was the paddleboard/kayak rental was off season, and it would have been so fun but that just means we have to go back in the Summer!

The campsite was great! The instructions to get there were great, and the campsite was clean and well taken care of. Watch out for tree stumps if you’re sleeping in a tent for site 17, but other than that it was great!

The location of this campground (especially in fall when we went) is beautiful. The sites have a nice amount of privacy between them and are very comfortable. John came around to say hi and check in when we first arrived and was fabulous. Highly recommend staying here - it was our favorite of three campgrounds during our trip!

Beautiful campground and vast lake right next to the site. Absolutely stunning during fall season and area is very secluded. Would recommend if you enjoy a little more privacy and less noise. Pack layers if you’re planning to visit outside of summer. Gets chilly at night.

Kolob Reservoir is absolutely stunning — such a beautiful and peaceful place to camp. The site itself was amazing, and I definitely plan on coming back. The only downside was that communication wasn’t great. I reached out the night before our trip with a few questions and didn’t hear back until late Saturday at 11pm,and our trip ended Sunday morning. I ended up having to ask the Kolob Reservoir host for help instead. That part was frustrating, but otherwise it was an amazing experience, and I’m excited to return.

I really enjoyed this campsite! It was quite clean and in a beautiful area. There’s lots of little trails to explore and walk around as well as of course as the reservoir which was right down the hill from the campsite. There was a porta potty as well as a public restroom maybe a minute or twos walk from the campsite. The road to get to the campsite also has beautiful views of Zion park. Disclaimer: there is no WiFi! The rental store is closed for the season so there was no WiFi and there was no kolob campground WiFi available. No biggie but I would recommend screenshotting a map

Spent a night here, and it was really nice! It was quiet, and you could hear the cows in the mornings. The drive here was gorgeous, and I wished I had more time to explore.

The reservoir and area around it are quite beautiful. The campgrounds are also very nice however, the campsites are way too close together and it’s basically like you’re camping with your neighbors. Also the Porta potty’s needs a step to be able to get up to it and down from it safely. I’m surprised somebody hasn’t broken a leg on this thing. Other than that everything was great.

If you want somewhere remote and a bit rugged, this place is a good option. Beautiful drive in, leaves were changing in mid September. Beautiful views. We were in site 4. With our Expedition EL and 18 foot trailer, it was kinda tight backing in, but the site itself was a good size. Dirt road was a bit rough, but the whole route is paved until you get there. It rained a lot, which made everything muddy.

It was a beautiful campground. We were happy to get our propane fire pit. However, we only saw our host once when we first arrived. Our fire pit would not ignite. But the biggest disappointment was our neighbor in the sight next to us had over 20 people. Loud all day and night with music blaring. No one enforced quiet hours or limits to people at the sight. We will likely not use Hipcamp again because we are used to hosts that help make the experience enjoyable for everyone by helping to enforce common courtesy rules.

Overall we did enjoy our time at this site. I don’t recommend it for people who easily get car sick on twisty roads as this site is located after 45 min of twisty roads. Also, the potable water spigot did not work and the site said it would so that was a bummer. The site was big and spacious which was great.

This was our first time using hipcamp and it exceeded our expectation. Our campsite was in a fantastic location and provided great views. Loved how well maintained all the sites were. Other campers were having fun but also respectful of their neighbors. Felt safe and well taken care of by the host, John. He answered all my questions prior to booking the campsite as well as those before we arrived. He even reached out during our stay to make sure we knew how to contact him if anything was needed.

Our first time here. Now to each is their own. For us, the campsites are so close together that we could easily hear everyone’s conversations. It’s a small campground all jammed together, forget your privacy. It is nice that the lake is right there, we paddle boarded and fished. One day we took our e-bikes and went into Zion. The campground is about 35 minutes away. Again, we were there on Labor Day weekend and all sites were full. Not the quiet peaceful outdoors we look for but that might be ok with you. We wouldn’t come back just because of that and like more room to ourselves. The port-a-potties are sitting on a trailer and got pretty gross after a few days with a full camp. The camp host was nice and came around from time to time.

My fiancé and I loved our experience here at this property and campsite. The views upon the drive were breathtaking and once you get up to the campsite it’s so beautiful and spacious. We got to bring our dog and just have a getaway from the city. The fire and the stars were my favorite part.

The campground is pretty great! We booked this site and others for a regular camping trip that I run with my work team, and had a really nice weekend. Spacing of the campsites is not too bad. Most of the time there seems to be a bit of brush separating sites. You aren't going to be completely isolated from others, but you also aren't going to be stepping over each other either. I did like that there was a trash can in the site, and with the low levels of critter problems it didn't seem to cause any issues, although a lid to each trash can might be a good idea so nothing gets used to easy access. Our site was fairly flat, I was glad that it didn't rain too much after the first night, as the place we pitched out tent had a slight depression that could have made for a muddy time. Bathroom access took a second to get used to, as I first walked right by the trailer, not realizing I could access it from the backside. Wifi access was convenient for checking in with family when we arrived, and the lack of overall cell service was actually a bit of a relief. I'd probably come here again.

This camping site is unbelievable. Next to the gorgeous Kolob reservoir, the surrounding mountains and trees. If you really want to be away from noise ... you need to drive up there you will not regret it. Thanks to a family I met from across my tent I went to the lava point overlook.Danny recommended it and What a beautiful place this is ,you must go there if you visit Kolob reservoir. Would not recommend it going on to the overlook during rainy season, because of road conditions at certain points.The host was nice and welcoming, the place was also very clean. Some Wi-Fi available but don't expect to get the best downloads or anything like that 🤣🤣🤣.

Overall the camp is good, but about 1/3rd of the camp sites won't work well for tents. 17 was okay for a small tent but not very level, so a larger tent wouldn't have fit. It would help if sites were described as RV focused (non-level, bumpy) vs. tent focused (level, smooth). That said, we had a great time while there. The host was professional and attentive. We'd definitely consider another visit.

Always our go to place to camp at Kolob Reservoir!!! This site was great for our needs. Camper & tent, plus 2 cars, as well as 2 canopies. Wi-Fi had a couple issues, but was resolved when hosts came around on a daily basis. I recommend Hip-Camp for a great camping experience.
