Nice location being so close to the park (if you can’t get a campground inside the park), but the tent sites were very far from bathrooms and lots of mud and deep puddles meant we had to drive the car to the bathroom any time we needed it. The building had laundry, couches and some games; the bathrooms were fine but definitely nothing fancy.

Do you want a campground super-close to the east entrance to Zion National Park via the Mt. Carmel Tunnel? Do you want free hot showers? Well, the Hi Road Base Camp is for you. Here are the caveats, though, but they’re not deal breakers. 1. There will be traffic noise from 6 am-9:30 pm. The campground is right on the highway. 2. There is a smell from the septic tank that periodically wafts through the campground and the clubhouse where the showers and toilets are located. 3. The showers have not been deep cleaned in a long time. It’s scungy. Bring shower shoes. 4. There is no attendant on site after about 4:30 pm and before 9 am. So if there’s a problem… 5. There are 3 Great Pyrenees that roam the property. They were pretty aggressive to our small, leashed dogs. While there is a requirement that guests keep their pets leashed, these large floofy beasties roam free and can freak you out with their big barks. You’ve been warned. 6. Avoid space 43. It’s a mud bog. 7. There are only two working washers and dryers. Overall, the property is a little rough, and needs some TLC. There are tumbleweeds pokey weeds that make it look unkempt. Weeding and putting down mulch and gravel, leveling the boggy sites, and a diligent eye for cleanliness will go a long way! For its proximity to the eastern park entrance it cannot be beat. NB: If your rig is taller than 11 ft, you cannot go thru the tunnel beginning 2026!

I loved camping at Hi-Road Zion RV Campground. It is very close to the Eastern entrance to Zion, is well maintained, and is very quiet. I highly recommend staying here.

The Hi-Road Zion RV Campgrounds were a stone’s throw away from the East entrance to Zion National Park. The campground was easy to find, well maintained, had a super easy self check-in process for late arrivals, and had plenty of nice amenities as needed for those staying there. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a close-by campground to Zion National Park!

Tent camping is primitive in that the walk to the bathroom at night is long 😂 It is beautiful though, with the sites facing the rock wall face. Night skies are incredible there! Bathrooms are decent but some parts are under repair so women’s bathroom is down one shower, leaving two functional and one toilet stall is out, but there are plenty working. Washers and dryers are in need of repair also, unfortunately. Only two of each were currently working, but it was nice to have the availability at all there.

We loved camping at Hi-Road Zion! We camped at Primitive Site B and had a great night. Our site was clear and clean, the picnic table & available potable water were total game changers, and the bathroom and shower house was icing on the cake! Hot showers in the morning before a great day at Zion made it one of my favorite days of our trip. The campground was about two minutes from the east entrance of Zion Natl Park. Would most definitely book a trip through Hi-Road Zion again!

We had a great time at Hi-Road Campground! It was nice that it’s located just outside Zion’s east entrance. The check-in was good, accommodated our request for a shaded site and even gave us recommendations for things to do in town.

Super close to the entrance of Zion National Park! All of the hookups for the camper worked. The laundry was not the greatest. Only 2 washers and 1 dryer was working when we were there. There is a great little gift shop and cafe across the road that they are associated with.
