Your rooms have been hand-carved and blasted by your host from a 6,000' foot stand-alone boulder with a private cave entrance, patio, and complete with a 10' foot deep natural swimming pool and waterslide. The cave stay at the Bedrock Homestead is noted by visitors as a highlight of southern Utah, and is a perfect fit if you're seeking some downtime during your vacation, getting a step away, finding some adventure, and experiencing something that's completely unique. Grandfathered into the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, the 40 acre creek-fed homestead offers hiking from the backdoor, and from the roof of the rock house, a sweeping view of the canyon, sunset and brilliant star show.Just a heads up- 4x4 REQUIRED for the last mile of the private driveway to reach the Bedrock Homestead and your cave stay. This is a one-of-a-kind sculpture house, a true work of art, and a great opportunity to connect with local culture and get the inside scoop on what to do in the area- your host, Grant, is a natural entertainer and a very knowledgeable local wilderness guide. You may tour the gardens and orchard, feed the wild mustangs some carrots, play on the tree-swing and enjoy the outdoor 10’ foot deep swimming pool with a diving rock and water slide- this is an oasis. A perfect basecamp to explore Grand Staircase Monument, Capitol Reef National Park back door, and Hole in the Rock Road Escalante. Your cave wing has 2 Guest rooms (queen), 1 Conjoining room (double), and 1 Guest bath with a clawfoot tub and soaking salts. Also included is a mini-fridge, coffee, grinder / tea and BBQ. Your private cave wing entrance of the rock house has its own patio. The common rooms like the full kitchen and wood stove room are shared only with only your host. The jam room has amazing acoustics and is magical, so be sure to bring your playlist to pump, and if you're a musician bring an instrument.

Cave Stay with Swimming Hole
This place was so incredible, unique, amazing, magical. All of the things! The cave is breathtaking, and we all still can't believe he did almost all of it by hand. The beds were comfy, and there were all of the amenities you would need. Grant is such an incredible human, and how he has transformed the land and brought it to life is beyond admirable. Be sure to take the time to chat with him, hear his story, and learn about all of the incredible things he is doing. Loved every minute of our stay, and will definitely be back.

An Unforgettable Stay in a Hidden Gem! Staying at this cave house in Boulder Utah was like stepping into another world. Nestled into the red rock cliffs, the home blends naturally into its surroundings while offering comfort and character you won't find anywhere else. The interior is cozy and thoughtfully designed, with all the essentials-plus some magical touches that make the space feel like a retreat from reality. The highlight? The private swimming hole just a short walk from the cave. Refreshing water sounded by canyon walls-it was the perfect way to cool off and enjoy the desert landscape. We spent our mornings sipping coffee at the cave's entrance with breathtaking views, and afternoons relaxing by the water or exploring nearby trails. What really made this place special were the animals. Friendly horses roam the property. A sweet dog was our constant companion during morning coffee and a laid-back cat made itself at home on our porch, adding a homey feel. It felt like staying in a little desert sanctuary with its own four-legged welcoming committee. If you are looking for something truly off the beaten path-with beauty, peace, and a touch of wild magic-this is the place. It is totally different-peaceful, off-grid and unforgettable. We didn't want to leave! Perfect for adventurous couples or small families who want to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature. We spent our annual girls trip staying here. Highly recommend!

What can I say? What a great place and worth the $$$. I was fun getting to actually forde a creek to get to place. Great conversations with Grant. Nice dog and kitty cat and horses. Lovely stay.
