This beautiful 23-acre piece of the Texas Hill Country is like a rescued animal. For years, it was mistreated by a previous owner who offered it up as a dump. He was a junk dealer too, and the property is littered with remembrances of the time he spent here. Slowly, Waymeet is being rehabilitated and I am its steward. It is now a state-designated wildlife conservation space and I conduct activities such as brush and erosion management and wildlife habitat creation.
I believe in leaving nature to its own course as much as possible, so much of the property is in an undisturbed state--well undisturbed except for the horses, who roam the fenced-off (and major) portion of the property.
As civilization comes to settle around Waymeet, this will remain a country refuge for as along as I am here.
