VRDNT Farm is a technology-forward small farm growing flavorful and colorful vegetables for Central Texans. We focus on bio-intensive growing practices and are striving to optimize on-farm efficiency.

Learn more about this land:
VRDNT Farm is a female owned and operated small farm growing flavorful and colorful vegetables. Tucked away in the Lost Pines of Bastrop, we focus on bio-intensive growing practices and are passionate about regenerative agriculture. The property is 11 acres total but only 3.5 acres are cropped in vegetables and the rest of the property is left as wild woodland.
This site has a picnic table, fire ring, hammock, and three established tent pads.
This campsite is directly adjacent to the fields. All three tent pads are privately tucked in the woods, but the picnic table, hammock, and fire ring are visible from the fields. Please be aware this is a working farm and we are outside working from 8am-5 pm Monday-Saturday
We have a friendly farm dog, Blue who roams the property. He will likely come say hello to you at you camp site. Because of this, we request that you do not bring any pets.
You are welcome to gather firewood from the surrounding woods. But depending on the weather (if it has just rained) you may want to bring fresh wood and kindling. There are several places to get firewood on highway 20 on you way to the farm.

A verdant oasis
A verdant, idyllic oasis just an hour outside of the city, Becky’s land is a dreamy spot to reconnect with mother nature. I went just for a night to get out of town and unplug and it was so worth it. I enjoyed roaming the aromatic rows of potatoes, fennel, kohlrabi, sage, tomatoes and many more divine and lovingly tended specimens of the plant kingdom. And relaxing in the hammock with a book. The stars were remarkable, too. Will certainly return.
Thank you, Becky!

Secret garden anniversary party
Becky is an amazing host, and a friendly person. We felt welcome and were encouraged to explore and allowed to pick some veggies for ourselves. It was Ana amazing experience we will be back in the future.

Wake up to the aroma of herbs
The directions were good. The camp site is near a field of herbs and vegetables. The aroma of several herbs was enjoyable to wake-up to in the morning. The host Becky, the picking manager Erin made me feel at ease.

Support your Local Farms!
This was such a fun way to get to know the farm we're supporting via CSA subscription. Even though the staff was busy, they made some time to answer our questions. Looking forward to going back in other seasons to see how the farm evolves. Thanks for hosting us!

Lots of love for local farmers
I was so excited to learn that VRDNT farm was one of the farms that grows food for the CSA I became a part of this fall. The beautiful purple long beans going to seed in the fields here are the same ones that I received in my weekly ag-share a few weeks ago. I saw other friends to my plate as well— bok choy & scallions, and got a sneak peak at what’s to come as the growing season progresses (yes, please, broccoli!). Needless to say, it was a wonderful opportunity to stay on the land where some of my weekly food comes from. Thanks, VRDNT!

Love the small farm experience!
Such a wonderful camping spot and experience. It was so nice to learn about the farm and enjoy the farm views. We kept our dogs on leash and they were fine playing around the campfire.

Urban Farm Stay
This is my first time using Hipcamp. I’m used to camping in National/State/Local Parks. It was an adjustment camping in a residential area - we could hear the neighbors all night long - loud music (so loud at a point we thought it might have been a concert. Do people clap at ends of songs at concerts?), neighbors’ roosters (allllll night - didn’t know that was a thing), coyotes howling, and dogs barking at the coyotes on the adjacent properties. We barely slept. If it were just the coyotes, it would have been fine. The tent pads in the camp site could use a little leveling. The listing states firewood is provided, but it isn’t. There is a through-road several feet behind the camp site. All of these things are completely reasonable components of a neighborhood, they just don’t add up to a relaxing camping experience. The rest of the listing was accurate.

Great Getaway
Sunsets & sunrises overlooking the colorful vegetables and greens were beautiful. Hummingbirds came to the flowers and the birds peacefully sang throughout the visit.
Signs into the property and where to park were helpful. The campsite felt private enough being away from the main house property. There was plenty of fallen wood to use for the campfire pit. The tent site wasn’t that far from parking, and it was nice to have a port-o with a hand washing sink available. When I had myself all set up I was warmly greeted by Blue, the farm dog, on his patrol of the property. :)
Becky was especially delightful with a garden tour and answering any questions I had about their gardening methods, and with offering tips on best spots to go hike.
The following day I did enjoy a long hike at the nearby Colorado River Refuge and Bastrop State Park, then came back for relaxing hammock and reading time.
After being surrounded by greens, it was not hard to ask to be a patron and Becky sent me home with a big beautiful bag full of vegetables.
I will look forward to visiting again, also any future classes or events. Thank you.

Will definitely stay again!
This was an awesome site! Becky was extremely hospitable, the campsite was clean and we had plenty of room. We arrived after dark and had no trouble finding the entrance and the site. Once we set up our tent, we were able to stargaze and listen to the woods. (We were visited by an owl!) In the morning, we woke up to a beautiful farm. (Hello, Swiss chard!) Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer than the one night.
