This property has been in our family for three generations and was originally purchased by my great grandfather. The property has been used continuously as a cattle ranch since it was purchased. Stay with us to get the best of both worlds - your own private camping adventure and easy access to one of the best state parks around! A great location for nature lovers and bird watchers, our property features an active creek and is home to numerous native Texas plants and wildlife. We've also spent the last few years clearing trails and encourage you to explore the property on foot. Whether you are looking for a relaxing weekend getaway or trying to check a certain bird off your list, our property has something for everyone. We only book one group at a time so that our visitors can have private access to the property during the duration of their stay. We currently do not have any established facilities, so campers are encouraged to bring their own food and water. Our property is also an active cattle operation, so be ready to see a few cows! My wife and I had a wonderful stay. It was a super easy transaction and the host was very responsive to any questions. Once you get a little away from the road you are very isolated. Great place to walk around and a nice creek to explore. We had rain one night but the rocky ground gave us no trouble with my 2wd truck and our 13’ camper. Easy drive to Lake Whitney. Will definately stay there again! Note: If you don’t know about mesquite trees, be careful around the thorny things. There are a lot on the property and any scratch or poke will swell if you don’t clean them right away

Great primitive campsite

Absolutely loved the place! If you’re looking for a primitive camping experience in central Texas, look no further. Lots of beautiful limestone, wild animals of all kinds. The trails were very exciting and in some places challenging. We made sure to pick up any trash along the way, and left the animal bones and such alone. It really adds to the discoveries you find along the way. Be smart and don’t antagonize the wildlife and you’ll have a great time.
