Such a great spot! Quiet, peaceful, and well cared for. The host was so kind and accommodating! They had firewood on site for us to buy and even brought it over yo out site. The kids loved the island and watching the ducks parade to the water.

So fun! We rented out the talking trees site. Perfect for my dog who hates a leash but also hates to listen 😆 he was able to be free in our campsite and the pond/island is a new favorite for my boys. There's lots to explore and the property is beautiful and peaceful. Todd is a great host, kind, communicative, helpful, but we still felt like we had our own space. Overall the site feels safe, I fully plan to go back and my boys (ages 4 and 7) said they wanna go back 100 times forever lol

This was such a nice spot and we’d love to come back sometime! Todd was really responsive, reliable, and nice. You can tell that everything is really well taken care of and we felt really comfortable and safe there.

This place was so peaceful, clean and the host were extremely kind! Will definitely return. We used the paddle boat my kids loved it got into the pond set up camp at the favorite spot and I understand the name it is quite the favorite spot - the location is just great. We had space to toss around a football had access to the water hose to rinse off and get water the port a potty was clean it was just AMAZING!

Pirate's Cove

A buddy and I were out biking and needed a place to camp for a single night. This area is relatively remote and so void of the usual camping options and hotels. Todd has a great property with several options to setup a tent or two. The pond is very nice and peaceful and there are birds all around which can be heard. It's very easy to find from a highway.

Great for dogs!

The Talking trees site is absolutely a great find! The site itself is fully fenced in so our dogs could roam free in the area but we still had access to the rest of the property including a duck pond and some walking trails. Todd was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. He went above and beyond to make himself available while still giving us our freedom to enjoy the property. He made our experience even better and we will definitely be coming back to talking trees!

Great host, great place!

I had a great time staying there. We had a big space for ourselves and away from others. That was nice because I was able to let my dog run around the tent. We were able to get a dozen of duck eggs, from the ducks that were walking around, which was pretty cool. Totally recommend this place for those who want to just get away from city life and don't want to drive too far from Houston.

Spring camping with friendly hosts

My husband and I are so glad to have found this spot and we are looking forward to returning and enjoying it with our children. The grounds are very well-maintained. The host was very friendly and helpful. Spring brings June bugs so expect at nightfall they will be out. We ate dinner in the tent and waited for them to subside before enjoying the evening campfire. Our two dogs enjoyed exploring and playing in the pond. Other campers enjoyed their time on the paddleboat. The campsites themes were each unique. We purchased some duck eggs on the way out to use in baked goods.

The campsite is beautiful. and very clean. plenty of room to relax and an amazing pond that has plenty of fish. Todd was super. He made sure I knew where I was staying. Checked on me more than once to make sure that I was enjoying myself. I will definitely be back. Again?

We had a great time camping at Todd’s place! We booked the favorite spot and liked the central location. Only downside was we could hear highway traffic. That might be a little less noticeable at one of the sites tucked farther back. We had a great time fishing even though water was low. Cast with wacky worms and chatterbait along the far bank and you’ll catch quite a few! The kids loved the paddle boat too. The port-a-potty was very clean.

Great site and easy to find! Our only disappointment was the additional fee after booking. We received a message from our host on the day of check in that we would need to pay an additional $30 for the site due to the number of guests in our group (4 camp guests w/ two rooftop tents). We where already on our way so we decide to just pay the additional fee. This is a great site and service and the camp grounds were awesome. My only suggestion for improvement is honest advertising on the listing.

Great getaway for our Family

We loved staying at Todd’s campground. He was very accommodating. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it. The ducks were adorable too! The port-a potty was very clean. Madisonville is a charming little town. We had lunch at Walker’s Cafe and saw Santa at the huge Christmas store near Bucees! We look forward to going back!

We loved camping on Todd’s land! We ended up being the only ones there so had the whole are to ourselves! Nice pond for fishing. Todd was super helpful and answered all questions quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

My sister and I booked this Hipcamp for a little birthday weekend getaway. Driving there, we totally missed the driveway, but luckily Todd was checking his texts and we were able to turn around and look for the pink flag. Todd was a really great host, he led us to our site and gave us the 'lay of the land'. We stayed at Pirate's Cove and it was this cozy little nook. It was the smallest of all the sites, but it didn't really feel that small at all and was almost as centrally located as The Favorite Spot. And we were closer to the walking path, so that was a bonus for our dogs. We ended up being the only ones there that weekend, so we had the whole camp area to ourselves. My sister took a refreshing swim in the pond, and our dogs spent alot of their time exploring the grounds. It was pretty obvious Todd spent alot of time on the details of the property, and making sure it felt as comfortable and welcoming as he was. The only downside was you could hear the cars going by almost anywhere on the property, but it was really no biggie since it just became white-noise after a while. Highly recommend!

Todd’s place was amazing, every site was very well thought out and you could feel the love and effort he put into the property. Tons of cool birds, deer, grasshoppers etc were around, even a little water snake. We jumped in the lake, hiked a bit, and identified some birds. We were the only ones on the site at time, so it was like having our own giant private campsite. Todd was very kind also and checked in on us a couple times. Will definitely stop here again.

The Morris Manor and Retreat

Todd was an excellent host from before arrival to departure he was very helpful. It rained longer than forecasted and we were concerned about conditions for tent camping, Todd checked our site and reported back conditions so we could make informed decision. The property is beautiful and well maintained, cleanest portapotty I've ever seen. We had fun fishing and the boat was a nice bonus. Firewood delivered to campsite was great and her even offered to get it started for us... but that's half the fun of a campfire! We will definitely be back!
