A getaway tucked deep into 44 magical acres of rolling hills. 10 minutes outside of Center Point, Texas. Tucked into the top of a beautiful valley, where hills rule supreme! While on the property spend your time enjoying the rugged trails, bird watching, dark night skies, and the quiet. Don't forget to take advantage of our communal amenities including stock tank pools, sauna and hammock grove! Currently we have 7 A-frame cabins and RV to rent as well as dispersed camping sites! If you're interested in booking the whole property for your group shoot us a message! ~We are grateful to share that our property did not sustain any damage from the Guadalupe flood. During this time, we remain committed to being a place of restoration for all~ *We ask that guests clean up after themselves in the communal spaces during their stay. Allowing all guests to have access to a clean and welcoming space!* The Charmadillo is a great base to explore the area! About an hour from Lost Maples, Garner State Park and Enchanted Rock. About 35 minutes to Hill Country State Natural Area. Various access points to the Guadalupe river via Center Point and Kerrville. With the addition of wineries, honkytonks, and charming bars and restaurants throughout the region.

Tucked deeper into the property lie two flat valleys offering exposed fields as well as shaded groves of cedar and oak. Choose whatever spot speaks to you! Be respectful of other campers space while choosing your spot. Guests will have access to the communal shower house, comprised of 4 private full bath rooms. As well as access to the communal kitchen, pools, sauna, outdoor shower and the den/lounge for any WIFI or game needs. All amenities are a few minutes walk away! You are welcome to explore the property via the rustic trails. You can find coffee, pancake mix, and oatmeal in the kitchen as well! *Fridge/freezer space is reserved for cabin renters. Please bring your own self sufficient cooler setup!* **One booking is for TWO adults, if you have more people in your group/tent please make an additional booking. We sell day passes for $25 a person so 2 people at $35 a night is already a deal :)

Step back into the 70s in this charming time capsule! The Charmadillo is a glamping and wellness resort offering different lodging options. You will be in the RV, but we have 7 cabins and tent sites available as well. INSIDE YOUR RV YOU WILL FIND: -Queen size bed + Memory foam mattress above the cab (drivers seat of RV) -Fresh bed linens + Towels + Robes -Drawers and small closet for storage -Glass bottled drinking water -Cups + Plates + Bowls + Silverware -Flashlights + Natural bug zapping spray (made of cedar and peppermint oil) -Portable charging station to charge your phones, etc **PLEASE NOTE: -Your RV does not have running water or a bathroom. The shower house is a couple minute walk away as well as the kitchen where you can find coffee for the morning! RV LOCATION In order to protect the RV from the sun and plug in electric for the temperature regulating window unit, the RV lives under the awning of the large garage. Between a couple of the communal spaces: The Den (lounge with Wifi + games) and the The Dugout (open bay with picnic tables and disco ball). This location is somewhat in the action, but that also means it's pretty close to the kitchen and showers. If you are looking for a more private experience we suggest booking one of our cabins instead. *This RV is a pet free unit* (If you have a pup please book cabins #2, #3, #6 or #7. Thanks!) Peaceful and Inviting

What a beautiful and thoughtful experience. Truly a pristine pocket of peace in the Texas Hill Country. We were welcomed warmly and Sarah was a gracious host. The attention to detail and overall quality of the stay was outstanding. Our stay was peaceful and would definitely recommend!

We loved tent camping at the Charmadillo! It was quiet, peaceful, and the amenities were in excellent condition. Having a sauna onsite wasn’t something I expected to use but enjoyed every second of it. Would recommend for anyone looking to have a relaxing hill country getaway

Valley Campsite + SAUNA!
I really enjoyed my stay! The property is beautiful and very well kept. I was camping in a roof top tent and was able to find a level and cozy camp spot in the trees. There were other campers on the property but it was very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely stay again. Thank you Sarah for allowing me to stay on your beautiful property. 🙏🏼

Such a wonderful and relaxing getaway; the amenities were wonderful, the groups and facilities were well-kept, and the cabin was adorable. I loved all the little personal touches as well! The host was very thoughtful and responsive. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing. That’s what you need to know about The Charmadillo. I’ve stayed in AirBnBs, state parks, RV parks, and primitive camping sites. This really does give you the best of all worlds. If you’re looking for a Texas Hill Country escape, and want to connect with nature, while combatting the TX heat with a/c to sleep in, and a good, clean shower, this is it. The property is fantastic. Perfectly nestled into a hillside, you get great views, space to hike and explore, and a true feeling of being in nature. The common areas are kept immaculately clean, especially with how off grid it feels. The decor and touches of comfort are tasteful and feel organic. Everything feels like it’s there to enhance your experience, not just look good in a picture. Sarah, the host, is a great communicator and seems to really value her guests’ experience. The location is easy to access, and it’s a short drive to Bandera or Kerrville, and a great home base for exploring the Hill Country. I hadn’t touched Hipcamp in years after my previous experience, but Sarah is doing hospitality the right way. *this probably reads like a paid review, or ‘friends & family’, but I assure it’s not. I just really enjoyed this place.

Cozy Hill Country getaway

A cozy and comfortable spot that's great for some day hiking in the Hill Country. The cabins were clean and had nice amenities. The shared kitchen and the shower stalls were spotless. Sarah was great with communication and very flexible with what I needed on site. Highly recommended!

The amenities are remarkable! The communal kitchen is spacious, modern, and has everything you need to make a meal. They provide free bottled water, coffee, tea, pancake mix, oatmeal, condiments, and spices. The bathrooms were clean, roomy, and smelled like lavender. The property itself was gorgeous with a lot of areas to explore. We opted to camp and had the entire back field to ourselves. The A-frame cabins looked beautiful. We didn't get a chance to take advantage of the cowboy pools or the saunas since we had our dogs with us, but they both looked amazing.

Truly lives up to the name
Groovy 1978 RV + SAUNA
Beautifully appointed and every detail attended to. Sarah even gave me an upgrade when she found out I was there to run trauma relief groups for flood victims. I really enjoyed the opportunity to be immersed in nature. The hammock area was just where I needed to spend the fall equinox

We loved our stay at Sarah's land. It was a peaceful stay surrounded by beautiful hill country. The restrooms and showers were phenomenal and added the perfect amount of luxury to camping. We enjoyed spending time in the den playing games and taking shelter from the rainy afternoon. We can't wait to return.

We loved camping on Sarah's land. We're already planning our next trip. The A-fames are great and the AC is necessary especially in the summer. We saw the milky way at night from our porch, we have never seen so many stars!! We made s'mores on the communal fire, and relaxed in the pool after our hike that day. The facilities were wonderfully well stocked and clean. Sarah's personal touch to make things as cozy as possible is evedent everywhere- eucalyptus hanging in the bathroom. Our pup had a great time, he and I explored the property on a morning walk. Again- this is a very Serene property. 10/10 would return for a longer stay. 10/10 would recommend.

Valley Campsite + SAUNA!
This was my very first time using HipCamp to book a stay and I have to say, The Charmadillo is perfectly named as this property was so charming. Although, I didn't see an armadillo, I did see deer, fawns, jackrabbits, and turkeys. I was out for two nights camping and the instructions provided were very accurate and easy to follow. I picked a site (not labeled, but you can pretty much go anywhere you want to pitch a tent) and set up. I was staying here while I volunteered with the flood relief efforts, so being able to come back to beautiful showers and a nice soaking tub was much needed. I didn't try my luck with the sauna since I was already hot enough. I would definitely come back for another visit with friends. I can't wait to explore more.

I loved the communal amenities like; the kitchen, game room, and bathrooms. Really helped us out when we were caught in a freak storm. I wasn’t a fan of the primitive tent sites, personally too primitive. But I contacted the host and she allowed me to pitch my tent in a more comfortable location.

Most Peaceful Hill Country Escape
Groovy 1978 RV + SAUNA
The Charmadillo was the absolute perfect hill country getaway. The property was peaceful, beautiful and our cabin was adorable and comfy. The cabin, kitchen, and common spaces were all completely stocked and set up making it easy to cook and relax. The cedar sauna was our favorite amenity. Such a lovely place to recharge. Sarah quickly responded to our questions and gave thorough check in instructions. And her Elizabeth, an on-site staff member was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back!!

This is literally one of the most serene and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. Paired with the cleanliness and classiness of the accommodations… I’ll be returning! Valley Campsite + SAUNA!
Tent camping was amazing here! The views and weather were so beautiful. Our favorites were the sauna and cowboy pool! We were also taken away by the kitchen, there is literally more than what you’d need for a camping trip and the showers were so clean & spacious! I loved the touch of eucalyptus. Now I’m trying to plan to stay in a cabin.

The cabins were super awesome! Very clean and well stocked. The roads leading up to some higher cabins were pretty steep and rocky so be weary of driving your car up there if you plan to move your stuff directly to the cabin. Other than that it is very nice and well put together, I highly recommend to anyone wanting to do outdoorsy things in the area!

Fantastic spot. The shower facilities are spotless and nicer than most hotels! If your passing through or planning on spending a day touring the near by three sisters this is a great place to stay.

We camped here and the layout is fantastic, the amenities were absolutely fantastic. Great showers with a/c units inside and a decked out kitchen area to cook meals. The vibes were great, especially when the sun starts to go down, the lights and everything were just great. I’d definitely see me and my partner coming here again, it was a great and comfortable experience nestled in the hills.

For first time campers for tent camping this was freaking perfect! We enjoyed our time so much and it was amazing that they had the kitchen with all your needed tools and the the den was so fun! But we enjoyed ourself so much we are plnnninh to return with our friends!

Unbelievably sweet experience. Host was caring and accommodating. The grounds were impeccably kept and stunning. The facilities were sparkling clean and beautifully crafted. Stayed in the RV since all of the A-frames were booked and it was equipped with everything I needed, including a little jackery so I was able to plug in and do some work. She really thought of everything. But I would say the best part was waking up to fresh complimentary (artisanal?!) pour over coffee and an outdoor shower. The bulletin board in the kitchen was also very informative about local happenings and things to do so I got the tip to stop at center provisions on my way out of town and stock up on treats! The only thing I would change is having been able to stay longer. Hope to be back. Really special

This place was awesome. Beautiful land & the amenities were amazing. Loved the sauna, cooking in the kitchen, and soaking in the pools. Everything smelled really good and everyone was very friendly.
