We got there and got set up, a truck pulled up and a couple came to the door ( they identified themselves as the owner’s parents). The man said rather rudely “Can we help you” assuming we were not supposed to be there. I let them know I made a reservation on hipcamp and the wife said the son did not know anything about it. She said that they would let their son know. I said if there was any more problems to let us know. Never heard anything else. Then a bit later another car pulled in and sat there for awhile. After the first encounter we just felt like we were not wanted there and were very uncomfortable. I made a reservation for two nights but we left the next morning and went somewhere else. Plus it is hard to spot from the road, we passed it twice (even our gps was confused).

We had such a great experience, I'm not even sure where to start! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the hospitality and communication were top notch! The park is just off Gholson Rd, and there's no signage, so I drove past it the first time... and that's where it all started. Ricky, the father of the gentleman that owns this park, just happened to be behind us on the road when I pulled over. He pulled over right in front of us, asked if we were looking for the park, and guided us right on in! He came by the property the next day and talked with me for a bit. He invited us to check out their property down by the Brazos River (where they've got an AirBnB and are working on adding others, cattle, beautiful fields of wild flowers, and private access to the Brazos. Ricky is a busy man - but took the time to bring us around the property, talk to us about their plans, and (for a bonus) even brought us to the pasture to feed the cows! Communication was great. Hospitality was unparalleled! Can not wait to stay here again any time we're back in that neck of the woods!

We absolutely loved this campsite! Our favorite part about it was the secluded vibes. The host was such a pleasure and very accommodating to our stay. We loved it so much that we ended up booking another stay. If you are a nature lover and love your space- this space is perfect for you!

I love this campsite! It is really secluded, beautiful and has plenty of natural medicine available right outside of your camper / rv! Me and my partner mostly loved the alone time we could get at this campsite as it is newly opened to the public so that’s a plus! Sometimes campsites are crowded.
