An absolute gorgeous place! The host had great communication. We fished, kayaked, roasted hot dogs and s'mores on an open fire… couldn’t ask for a better camping experience. I highly recommend it!

First time camping and this place was amazing.
River was a little low but that didn’t stop us from getting in the water and having fun. Easy rental process for the kayak, tubes and firewood and very nice bathrooms and showers.
Definitely considering coming back when it’s cooler.

We enjoyed staying at Angela’s place so much and loved her vintage camper! The bed was so comfortable and the AC was top tier. If anyone is worried about their height when booking the camper, my boyfriend is 6 feet and he was able to stretch out and sleep comfortably (the side of the bed next to the sink). She provided everything we needed to cook and clean with and it’s a beautiful site from the porch.
The bathrooms were clean and we loved the outdoor shower! The river was so pretty and well kept around all the areas. They had picnic tables down there to eat and hang out at. We can’t wait to come stay again and I’m excited to bring my kiddo back for a little getaway.

We brought our teardrop trailer here for a night. Getting hooked up was easy, the spot was level, and it was a short walk to the bathrooms and the river. Very quiet and peaceful at night. Loved it!

Super Awesome camp !!!! While in a drought , water level was still high enough to cool off and relax. Hot showers, clean restrooms and nice site setup. Would definitely come again and camp.

We had a wonderful time at Sparrow Bend. The river was beautiful and campgrounds were nice and clean. Air conditioned bathrooms were great with how hot it was. Will definitely be back!

My kids and I had a great camping experience! Plenty of fun for the whole family, including the doggies! Lots to do! Clean restrooms, grounds were well kept! We had a great time kayaking ⛺️ Angela was a great host and always responded to any inquiry I had!

Sparrow Bend Retreat was the perfect camping getaway. Our spot was the closest to the river and we loved the short walk on a hot day. Bathrooms weren’t too far either. Definitely bring your own shade for this site as there is none. The owners are extremely nice and responsive.

Great experience staying in the Scamp camper. The space is tucked away from the other cabins given the proximity of the other sites. Very adequate amenities inside (cookware, towels and silverware). I would highly recommend it for couples, no more than 2 people can comfortably stay in the space in my opinion. Very responsive and professional customer service and the riverfront felt very private and fun! Definitely staying again sometime soon.

Camping spot was great! Tried to get a river spot first, but they were all booked up. Glad we ended up a Forest 1 because of the shade and close to bathrooms. Only about a 3 minute walk to the river. River was super fun. Also, short drive to Bandera which was a really cute town. Plan on returning in the future!

Absolutely amazing! I've been coming to the area (mainly Frio River) my entire life and this place might be my favorite place I've been! We stayed in campsite #3 and it was perfect. Plenty of room between other campsites. Very clean and had a fire pit area with a picnic table. Deer came to eat every morning and evening. We saw turkey as well. Went fishing and caught bass, catfish, gar, soft shell turtle and about a million perch! Water was low, but still had the perfect amount for swimming and cooling off. Indoor bathrooms with AC is a major bonus! The cabins on the property looked great from the outside. Truly worth every penny, we'll be coming back! Easy access into the gated property, which made us feel safe knowing our stuff was safe when we left to go to town. Can't say enough good things!

Site 4 was honestly just as expected. Bit elevated view, shades, conveniently located between the river and the amenities/bathrooms.
The experience at the camp was great. We went on about a 3-4 mile hike in morning. We later discovered we could take the sub wheeling down same path but went much further. It’s also great for quads. Very scenic to see the texas fauna. Bit tragic to see how the river dried up over what i expect was last decade or so but also a steady reminder of climate and change.
We actually swam in an accessible part of river and it was quite refreshing i took tons of pics of the fauna, sunset, and trails. Would come back again but next time with quads.
Site also had amazing showers, clean bathrooms, firewood for purchase, and even charging ports.

We had a great time on Angela's property! It was so beautiful and well maintained and our campsite was so spacious and nestled away from the other campsites. We loved being able to walk down to the river and swim with our puppy.

Im hesitant to leave a negative review in regards to anything ; however after 2 weeks in the desert we picked Sparrow Bend because we saw water activity in a nice flowy cool Texan stream ... The water does not "flow" it was 3 feet deep w slimey bottom . So needless to say 70$ for a hookup was too much plus the dissapointment on arrival .
Property was gorgeous but looked a bit overgrown and meh.

We thoroughly enjoyed the campsite! Our 3 kids stayed in the river exploring and swimming from sun up to sun down. Beautiful river and scenery.
Bathrooms and shower area was very clean and convenient. We didn’t want to leave. Will definitely be planning another camping trip to this site soon!

Our first time camping here and reserved RV slot 2. It had aplenty of space, a firepit and shared picnic table. It was quiet and only one other RV neighbor. The river was within walking distance and we enjoyed our stay. Instructions were clear to find the place and although it was a dirt road and a couple of puddle holes, it wasn't bad to drive on. In slot 2 we did however find the tree above the site to be too low and dragged across our roof and shoyld be cut but no damage was done. The reservation stated it was a pull through but really was not. Regardless, we enjoyed our stay.

Great spot! We were able to test out our new overland trailer and gear in a close by, easy to access space. Being able to park at our campsite was a must have with our setup. The river is great for swimming and paddle boarding.

The site was a lot less private than expected. The grounds were fine and the bathrooms were clean. There was a lot of noise from dogs and the highway across the street. The brightness of the lights on the houses on property were bothersome. While pretty, the level of the river is very very low leaving little to do. There is no way you could paddle board or even float in the river. Overall we were not super impressed considering the fees. We left one day early and went camping somewhere else

This is definitely one of the best camping spots we have been to! Access to the river was very easy, even from up the hill, and the water was absolutely perfect. The restrooms were nice and clean. We stayed in Spot 2 with our travel trailer and we were grateful that no one booked Spot 1 next to us so we had a good amount of space and privacy. There were plenty of other people there but everyone was respectful and we were pretty spread out so the noise was minimal.
