We really enjoyed tent camping on Eduardo's little piece of heaven. Tons of privacy and space for our dog to run around. We found a great spot to put our large tent, with plenty of room to spread our chairs, tables, and small grill. Eduardo has a large size fire pit. There were actually wild blackberry bushes near the water, and we picked some to eat! We saw lots of birds; we should have brought bird seed to encourage even more of them to stop by. There is a picnic table there, although it really wasn't usable. Our tailgate was a great alternative. Eduardo was kind enough to buy a bag of hickory wood for us to cook with, as I couldn't find any at our HEB ($12). We had a great time, and will return!

Perfect spot if you’re looking to camp away from the crowds and be right next to the river. 2 kayaks and 1 hammock provided by Eduardo. Fishing was great and plenty of space for my dog to explore. Will definitely be staying here again.

Loved the location and that it was hidden away. We were able to let the dogs run off leash and they loved being able to run around freely!

We enjoyed this place, it was magical. We used the kayaks for an adventure going both directions on the river. The place feels amazingly secluded, but minutes from town.

I had a great time camping here with my dog. There was plenty of room for him to run and explore off leash. The entrance to the river was a little mushy with vegetation but we were still able to do some kayaking. It would be a perfect fishing spot. Overall, this place was private, scenic and well-kept. 5/5 stars

Highly recommended if you are looking for a scenic and secluded camping experience by the river. Apart from some very distant traffic noise, it feels like you could be a hundred miles from anywhere.
The track down to the site is a little rough, but no problem in a high clearance vehicle. Having access to Eduardo's 2 kayaks was a great bonus. I would definitely consider this spot next time I am camping in the area.

Okay, this is seriously a little slice of paradise - you're super close to San Marcos, but you also feel like you're the only people that exist, that's how nice and private it is. Easy river access and plenty of room to throw a frisbee or let the dogs run. Loved it!

This may be the only spot in San Marcos that you can camp ON the river. We were able to quickly go into town when needed which was nice too.
The host was very accommodating for our group & we definitely plan on going back in the summer!
Tips: It is hard to find, so I suggest getting there in the day light the first time. The path to the river is pretty bumpy, so I would suggest an SUV/Truck if possible. We had a small car, which was fine but not ideal!
Overall, we loved it!
