Sandhill RV Park sits just outside Ira, Texas, about fifteen minutes from Snyder and a short drive from Lake J.B. Thomas Reservoir. The park offers 21 full-hookup sites — three pull-through and eighteen back-in — spread out enough that you're not living on top of your neighbors, with mature trees around the perimeter that are hard to come by in this part of West Texas. The name — and the crane on our logo — comes from the Sandhill Crane, the bird that draws hunters to this stretch of West Texas every winter. Scurry County sits in Zone A, the largest and most liberal of Texas's Sandhill Crane hunting zones, and the bird's dense, dark meat has earned it a local nickname: the "ribeye of the sky." We work with a mix of guests: people staying a month or more for work in the area, travelers passing through for a few days on their way to or from Lake J.B. Thomas, and hunters here for crane season. Every site includes full hookups (30/50-amp power, water, and sewer), free WiFi, and access to on-site laundry.
