Understand this is purely primative camping. That being said the host was on top of everything. We arrived, picked up a fire ring at the gate and got set up camp anywhere we wanted. It is primarily field but with pond and trees line the property. We set up near water and the trees and it ended up being very quiet and serene. We couldn't hear the other campers over our kids in the field. We dropped off trash at gate in the morning, returned the fire ring and went to breakfast at a great place recommended by the host. Perfect. Oh it helps that it is ten minutes from wineries, cidery, meadery, and brewery

We choose to stay at Fireside Ranch because of the Dark Skies -Star Gazing…. And it did not disappoint! Even through our modest 80mm scope we viewed dazzling images of The Orion Nebula and Outstandingly detailed views of the surface of the moon. My wife and I are already planning another trip when the moon is not so prominent so we can view more deep sky objects. Be sure to visit the Blue Mule Winery around the corner for great wine and Tapas (Wed-Sun) and Mandito’s Mexican restaurant is crazy good in Round Top which is only a few minutes away. My Daughter loved spending time with Fireside Ranch's Rafter (Flock) of Super Freindly Turkeys and my Teenage boys caught several BIG large mouth Bass in the lake. All in All a GREAT time! We can not wait to come back!
