After we retired we went looking for our "Paradise" in the woods. We settled on this beautiful acreage in the Piney Woods of East Texas. When we first found it, it was unimproved and you could not drive onto the property. Since then we have brought in water and electricity, moved our home onto the property, carved out roads and trails, built three meditation decks (two are screened in), added three "Tipi" Pods (added air conditioning and electricity), moved one romantic little cottage onto the site, created one RV site, added a bath house, and built the Tree House Rustic Cabin. We aren't through yet, but could really use some help as we aren't as young as we once were, and our backs are "killing" us. Our goal and our purpose was to build a retreat center where folks could come to get away from the city and the pressures of everyday life, to meditate, contemplate, or just enjoy the beauty of nature, to renew and refresh. We are not far from town but far from civilization. We have plans to build a "big red barn" community center and a Chapel In The Woods. If you love being outdoors; if you love to explore and let nature welcome you to her peace and beauty, Paradise is just such a place.
