Paisano Azul Ranch is on 30 acres located by Terlingua Creek. The property is just minutes from the Terlingua Ghost Town and a short 3 mile drive to the Big Bend National park.  Come pitch your tent or park your camper amid the peaceful desert hillside with views of plateaus that lead to the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. There is a fire pit on site for you to toast marshmallows or cozy up near, and you can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table provided at each site. The picnic tables are placed beneath shade sails.  There are two nice and new desert tan flushing Porta-Potties on-site, as well as showers for guests to use. These come in handy after a long day hiking.  We hope you'll enjoy the beautiful open sky sunsets, sunrises, and stargazing as much as we do.  We are located just 3 miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park. There are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore - you can hike, bike, canoe & kayak, off-road, swim, go horseback riding, visit hot springs, as well as visit restaurants, galleries, and listen to great music in Terlingua. There is something for everyone to feel free to bring the whole family.  Additional details to note: - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception and wifi are both available on our property. Feel free to unplug during your stay though.  - Seeing other campers on your trip at the campsite is very standard, as the sites are far enough apart to feel like they are yours, but they are not private.  - Potable water is provided on-site.  Please feel free to reach out with any questions and we look forward to your stay.

Beautiful views and really clean site. Bathrooms and showers were incredible to have here. We had enough private space for ourselves and made us feel at home.

Good spot close to Big Bend!
Nice place to camp close to the entrance to Big Bend! Having a shower and toilet available was really nice. Also, the hosts were very friendly and helpful. While we were there a big storm came through and it got very windy so it’s probably a good idea to check the weather ahead of time and maybe consider renting one of the cabins if it looks like there’s a chance of storms.

Camping & Star Gazing Big Bend Nat
I loved tent camping at this location, it's isolated enough from the noise & light pollution, yet close enough to small town. The drive to Big Bend National Park is under 5 min. Proximity is an A+! The hosts were a pleasure to meet, they were very polite & attentive. They also offered basic amenities that were more than satisfactory. (Showers & Port-a Johns) Very happy overall. Will definitely do it again & recommend it to others as well.

Paisano Azul Ranch - "El Groupo"
Wind alley!
We really loved the sight but we were only able to stay one night due to a windstorm. Apparently this is something that happens frequently in this area, but we had no idea and did not see any mention of it in other reviews or any sites advertising camping in the area. The 45 mph wind destroyed two tents within an hour and left only one standing so we ended up staying in a hotel for two nights. It was disappointing we paid the full amount for three nights and only got one night out of it.

Great Desert Camping!
Second time staying here. The views are amazing and very convenient to get into Terlingua and the park. The outdoor showers are always a great experience, especially after being out all day.

Paisano Azul Ranch - "El Groupo"
Isolation & Convenience
El Grupo might be the best camping spot in Terlingua/big bend w/ the perfect blend of isolation and convenience. It’s fairly isolated, nobody around for at least a football field length, clean porta potty, cool hill to climb, shade structure, and a sweet fire pit with a short rock wall you can sit on or behind to shield your legs from heat. It’s a couple miles from BBNP entrance, slightly closer to Santa Elena canyon than the Chisos basin, and a minute from a great general store that has anything you forgot. Use was super easy and the host was helpful and the locals friendly.

Great location, easy logistics, and plenty of room for our group. Being so close to the national park made things so easy. Considering booking this for our entire trip instead of just the first night next time!

Camping Under the Stars
Jason’s place is awesome! We had a great time and it is just a short distance to the National Park. Jason was very accommodating and greeted us as soon as we arrived. The sites and bathrooms are clean and maintained. While there were other campers nearby, everyone was respectful of each other’s space and quiet hours. If you are looking for a place to camp outside of BBNP that allows campfires, this is the place! Thank you, Jason.

Overall great site with great amenities. The only comment I would make is that the sites aren’t quite flat, so if you are camping just be aware. I would necessarily let that deter you though, it’s in a great location and has a shower (which is always a plus!)

Right Next to Big Bend!!
This is a great place to camp! It is really close to the entrance of Big Bend and also close to Terlingua Ghost Town. The showers and dishes sink are a great addition as well. The skies and landscape can't be beat. Ron (temporary host in place of Jason) was very communicative and friendly! We will definitely go back.

Paisano Azul Ranch - "El Groupo"
A piece of desert heaven!
We loved the “el groupo” site for our family trip! The kids had fun playing on the hills and we felt like we had our own piece of the desert while we were here. There is a ton of room, a beautiful Stone fire pit and a shade screen over two clean picnic tables. The outdoor showers were hot and clean and you get a view of the mountains in the distance from them. Our host was helpful before the trip, with recommendations about the weather, etc, and very attentive when we arrived. I’d highly recommend to the “el Groupo” campsite; the kids have decided it is their favorite campsite they have stayed in yet!

Paisano Azul Ranch - "El Groupo"
Perfect spot! What a great experience!! We slept under the stars in one of the most beautiful spots in Texas! Space provided is basic but that is exactly what we expected. They have a nice shade structure in place that offers a great retreat from the high noon sun, and a good spot to hang a hammock! Porta-John’s were clean, had plenty of TP and hand sanitizer available. Hosts make the rounds daily to clean and inspect, and check on everyone. Showers are hot and fairly basic, but do the trick! Located minutes from entrance to national park, and a well stocked general store! Would definitely visit again!

Just as expected + more!
Awesome campsite! Everything as advertised and all amenities were great. Amazing sunrises! Everything was graded already which was a huge plus. Only thing to consider is that it is near a road. Not a very busy road but you will hear cars from time to time.

Great spot to camp close to park!
We only had the opportunity to stay one night, but it was a great place to camp! The directions provided made it very easy to find and it was nice to be able to scout the sites and pick the one we wanted. There were several port-a-potties spread amongst the sites that were very clean and well maintained. Each site has a picnic table, fire pit, and shade cover, which was a nice touch. At the front where the owner stays are hot outdoor showers, wi-fi, and a washbasin to wash dishes. We also really enjoyed the dogs and friendly goat he had. Highly recommend camping here and will return!
