Not private , poor shade, just OK
Site 9 is sloped with no level ground for a tent and the ground is covered with golf ball sized rocks. Because the site faces north, the shade sail is useless for early morning or late evening sun protection and it gets really warm in the direct sun. It does provide minimal shade during mid day. Site 9 has elevated ground on 3 sides, but the north side faces a dirt road, about 60 feet away.
The camp is close to the west entrance to Big Bend NP, Terlingua and Study Butte.
The showers are close, next to the owners house. There were no instructions provided or posted signs for the shower location, so you have to figure it out on your own.
Overall it was just OK, but I’ll be staying somewhere else with more shade on my next visit to Big Bend.
