At first we were worried we weren't going to have enough room, but we worked it all out and Man... This place is awesome. The swing under the tree house was so peaceful. You are completely secluded. NOBODY around. The pizza oven was a huge success with the kids. All around it was a very private place to just relax and forget about the week you had.

The area to camp was amazing, very diverse of options for cook, chill, and camp. Very unique. Matt's and Gina were very attentive and available for any needs.

Super great place!! I was by myself and felt safe and enjoyed the tranquil scenery with tons of birds and wild life. The creek was perfect! Host were available if I needed anything. I will definitely be going back!!

Our family loved the privacy, creek, pizza oven area and large stones around the firepit. The cows were so cute and the family was helpful in bringing some extra firewood for us.
We definitely look forward to coming back again!
There is a bit of a slope down to the creek but the rope to climb back up was especially helpful for our son.

Fun campsite perched atop a clean spring fed creek. Host was communicative and helpful. Amenities not often found at other spots made the trip very fun and memorable for us.

Overall is was a very nice place. Very serene and peaceful in the morning time with wonderful bird sounds surrounding you. The tree canopy kept the temperature low and comfortable in late May. The property was nice and provided a very primitive experience. So if that is what you like, then this place is great. It seemed like it had not been kept up with for a while however. There were wasp nests under the covered pizza over. We had to go into town to buy wasp spray so we could use the oven. There was a water hose, but if you followed it up the hill it was not hooked up to anything. The bathroom was as expected. I recommend taking a camping toilet so you can go in a trash bag and throw that out. If not there are flies and mosquitos that will make it very difficult the second time using it.
There is no trash can, so bring your own. There was no comfortable entry into the stream as the brush has overtaken most of the area and there were many snakes now making their home in that brush area. We asked to use the shower offered in the welcome text, but after checking it seemed it was not working since the last freeze. Again, it seemed the place had not been looked after for a while. All in all we loved the place for its landscape, location, privacy and serenity. I would stay again if there was just the minimal amenity of a water hose and different bathroom situation as well as some clearing and upkeep of the area. Otherwise I would not. Hope this helps.

We absolutely loved every minute of our weekend at Matt B’s land treehouse! My husband and I, along with our son and his dog had the BEST time kayaking up and down the creek! It’s absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful. The fireflies in the evenings were soooooo magical. We can’t wait to go back and try all the cool activities they offer too. We definitely plan on making this our go to camping spot.

It was a beautiful space and we had a great time camping on Matt's land. The creek was too low to canoe, but it was still pretty to look at and the brick pizza over saved us when trying to sort a fire in the rain. I would say that while it says there is a port a potty, it is not an enclosed one, rather a makeshift one a ways a way from the camp, which was fine. Also it says there is access to a shower, but I asked and that was not the case. Maybe because the owner was not on the property at the time.

Such a great stay! From kayaking, to making food by the fire, and a great place to put the tent overlooking a creek, this is a total escape if you need to get out of Houston and into nature!

We been camping at Matt's place for some years now. No need to look for any other place. It feels lake a vacation and at the same time it feels like home. Thank-you too Matt and his beautiful family for there attention and Kindness.

We loved tent camping at Matt's place. Such a cool place. The scenery was stunning! Bummed the hot tub wasn't working and the creek was too low to kayak. We will definitely be back!

Nice place, nice views just be prepared to get extra dirty if you take the kayaks out. Aside from the cows, we also saw and heard deer and a ton of cardinals. If you like staying clean, move on but if your ready to camp and accept everything that comes with it, this place is conveniently located if your trying to escape Houston.

We had so much fun. Went kayaking on the river at sunset. Cooked steaks and sat by the fire listening to music. The campsite is a distance from the house, so we didn't feel like we were disturbing anyone. Everything was set up very well. Little tree house was super cute! Hosts were very accomodating. Really enjoyed it! Will bring the kids next time, so they can ride in Kelly's tank!

This was a quick camping trip for me and my son before he went back to school. We absolutely loved our stay. Matt and his family are all gracious hosts and made our stay even better. My son wants to come back before the summer heat.

This is definitely of the better campsites we’ve been to through hipcamp! It’s a great layout and feels very private. Our two dogs loved exploring and hanging out all day. We can’t wait to make another trip when the river is higher :)

First hipcamp trip. Great time. Nice secluded area. Very cool to be able to purchase farm eggs and firewood. Loved using the brick pizza oven. The fire pit was awesome and we really enjoyed taking our dog out on the canoe for a couple paddling trips. Also saw some deer and heard coyotes in the distance.

It is a beautiful site, fishing was great and we had a pleasant time. We could not, however, find the showers and the outhouse was not enclosed which was hard since l was a female with a group of boys.

We been coming to Matt's camping site several years now. Its our place to disconnect completely, its a really private place where you can relax and forget about anything. Wonderful for kids lots of space to play, be creative and have fun!
It provides with the necessary resources for you to be confortable. Water, hot tube, restroom, kitchen and rest area. Love this place! Lots of meaningful memories. Hope you make it your own to go place as well!

This is our third time camping at Matt’s land and yet again it did not disappoint! We canoed in the day and made pizza surrounded by lightening bugs at night. The spot is so shady that it was a perfect place to go as the weather is heating up. Thanks for sharing this amazing place with us Matt!

Site was great and very private. We just got the site, not the tree house part. There's A little stream you have to cross when you first enter the property and that's how you know you got to the right place. We got to cross it just fine with our Honda HRV, it's shallow.
Kayaked along the creek and had some cattle follow us along the bank for a ways.
Used the pizza oven, which was fun, but failed to cook our dough on parchment paper long enough and put it back in with the toppings w/o the paper and it stuck bad to the stone and we had a terrible time getting it to rotate or even pulling it out.
Wood heated hot tub leaked faster than we could heat it, as of January 2023. Filled it to the brim and tried heating for 3 hours. By then it was bit less than half full and top couple inches were lukewarm and under that was still cold. But I told them about it and they said they would try and fix the leak. Still, would have taken a lot longer to heat it all up I think.
