    Lost Horizon Texas is an exclusive wildlife-oriented glamping retreat in the Texas hill country. The ranch is home to 18 species of free-roaming exotic animals and a healthy population of native Texas fauna. Guests also enjoy private access to some of the best fly fishing and water quality on the Lampasas River. With just two suites, Lost Horizon Texas maintains a private, exclusive, and off-the-beaten-path feel. Each accommodation is perched upon its private secluded valley plateau with exceptional tree-top views 450ft away and hidden from the other. Comfort, peace, and connection with land were carefully considered in the design of both "The Hideout" and "The Satao". You feel this place and will never forget it. Convenient on-site EV charger socket (NEMA 15-40) for your portable level 2 charger. Accommodate friends with a full-size pullout futon bed or the queen-size self-inflating 18" air mattress. One last thing, the only "chore" that we ask of our guests is to take the trash out of the tent and deposit it in the bin on your way out and that's only to help prevent critters from trying to get in! There's none of that long chore list stuff - you're here to relax, not work. :-) You'll enjoy private access to the Lampasas River, located within the ranch, approximately 3.5 miles away at the ranch's 5-acre river park. You won't need to venture beyond the ranch, and this access is shared with fellow ranch owners and guests. Expect a serene and uncrowded experience, unlike public access parks.     This is a very cool glamping destination! My family of 5 + 2 dogs loved staying out at Stacie & Jeremy’s location. The river access is within the gated neighborhood and we went there 4 times to play. Took advantage of the proximity to Colorado Bend St Park too. Very responsive owner though we didn’t have any issues. We’ve done a lot of camping and glamping over the years, this one ranks near the top.

    Really cool setup and a unique take on glamping! This definitely could be marketed as an “experience.” I have never been to Africa but this is exactly what I think of when I think African safari. I felt very secure and protected in this giant “tent.” It was the perfect size for 2 adults, two 4 year olds and two dogs. We cooked all our meals (potato and egg, hot dogs, kabobs, and even a sirloin steak) right over the campfire, except breakfast of the morning we left because it rained. The way to the river was a little drive, scenic drive with many animals to see, and I’m honestly glad it was not within walking distance because our kids would have been in there the whole time. Stacie and Jeremy were very responsive and I highly recommend them as hosts! Thank you!

    We loved the safari tent. There was plenty of room for our family of six. The bathroom with a removable ceiling was a wonderful touch. We all enjoyed swimming in the river and seeing the exotic animals on the property. Everything provided in the tent was so useful, we easily made meals in the tent. We highly recommend this place, the sunsets were phenomenal and the stars gazing was outstanding!

    This was such a special place! The container house was cute and clean. The view was beautiful and the porch was so peaceful to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening. We enjoyed walking the ranch roads and taking our dog to the river. We cooled off in the river and didn’t see a single other person there. Thank you for sharing your space with us!

    My friends and I had an amazing weekend at Stacie & Jeremy's. The property was exactly as described, clean, and serene. Jeremy was super helpful when we got lost on our way to the river and stayed on the phone with us to help us navigate there. We saw many of the exotic animals on the ranch during a sunset drive. Our pups had the best time exploring as well. 100% recommend!

    Really enjoyed our time at the tent. Brought my 12 year old daughter for a mother daughter getaway and I think this will be a memory that will forever stick with her. We saw so many animals each day. The tent was cozy and comfortable and incredibly withstood a 65mph storm. Without any issues. Wonderful to have a bit of a camping experience out in beautiful nature, but still be able to escape elements and benefit from creature comforts like AC, a nice bed, a fridge/freezer, running water and a wonderful hot shower and tub. Highly recommend and hope to make it back out sometime in the future.

    Truly amazing! We had so much space to ourselves and got to relax without seeing another soul in sight - we also felt connected to nature while also still enjoying creature comforts. My husband caught 30 perch while fly fishing at the river nearby and our dog loved being able to run around freely. And that bathtub is Pinterest worthy! Would highly recommend and we will likely return.

    The Satao Suite was just lovely. Our family (including two tweens) all were able to relax and enjoy the solitude. The bathroom was a lovely perk! As was the AC unit & hotplate. The evenings were gorgeous and hearing the coyotes across the night was very cool!

    Perfect Getaway!

    This was our first time “Glamping” and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I are both used to tent camping and enjoy that kind of experience. Safari Serenity offered everything we love about camping with the luxury of having the basic amenities like a bathroom and kitchenette. The tent was spacious and cozy, the ranch was beautiful and the trip to the river was amazing. I would highly recommend staying at Safari Serenity. It’s the perfect place to stay to enjoy peace and quiet.

    My boyfriend and I are from Florida and have been meaning to visit Texas for a long time. I wanted to do something different for him for his birthday and I happen to stumble across hipcamp, and the beautiful Satao tent. It was absolutely perfect and everything I was looking for. He absolutely loved every part of the camping experience, I have never been camping in the wilderness, this was the perfect first time for me. The tent is very comfortable, the area very peaceful, and host Jeremy and Stacey very communicative and attentive. We can’t wait to come back and we give this experience a 10/10.

    I feel like calling this place a tent isn't really doing it justice. It is exactly as described and easily the glampiest of glamping that ever did glamp. We and our pups celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary here and were very comfortable and secluded. The drive to the river is a must as we were able to see many of the various wildlife on the property. Jeremy was a great communicator and host. If you're considering this place, just book it already.

    My only complaint is that the instructions and directions were spread between different platforms and multiple documents making it easy for some things to be missed. Other than that it was a gorgeous piece of property that provided the writer and seclusion I was looking for.

    Great place to go glamping! Directions are spot on. River was super shallow, but nice to walk around in (bring water shoes, lots of rocks). A few deer seen, but a few other critters could be heard mostly at dusk. Just bring some food and wood for the fire pit and enjoy your stay!

    The Satao suite was incredible! Although it was rainy, we still had an amazing stay. The tent was very spacious and pretty. The bath tub made the space even more amazing. Our pup loved exploring the area around the tent. Definitely recommend driving to the river and enjoying the view of animals all around.

    I got my parents two nights here for Christmas and they raved about it! Secluded and beautiful. They said the furnishing and tent were great. Awesome bathroom! They really enjoyed seeing all the exotic wildlife as well. Even though it was in the 20s at night, they said the tent was ok between the heaters and heating blanket on the bed. 5 stars and said they look forward to going back again sometime in the fall!

    Our 5 year-old twins wanted to go camping and this was the perfect amount of rustic for a first time experience. There was plenty of space for the twins to wander and we were able to let our dogs roam off leash as well. The kids got to see some deer and other animals, run around wild and hike, and roast marshmallows over a fire; and right after getting home are already asking to go camping again.
