Lake Godstone™, near Graford, Texas, is a thriving destination introduced to the market in 2017. Initially focused on families, church youth groups, and sports teams, it has since become a hub for a wide array of events, such as birthday and graduation parties, family reunions, church camps, and business team-building retreats. The venue boasts extensive facilities and activities, including: Accommodations: A 35-person lodge, a three-bedroom guest home, fully furnished cabins, primitive cabins, group campgrounds, RV and tenting campsites, and primitive tenting sites. Recreational Activities: Three sandy beaches, six partially covered docks with swim ladders and canoe moorings, kayaks, canoes, a rowboat, pedal boats, water lily pads, and a sports field complex featuring a lit basketball court, sand volleyball court, and baseball and soccer practice fields. Nature and Exploration: An observatory with a telescope, four miles of mountain bike and hike trails, two new fishing ponds, wildlife feed and water stations, a bird view house overlooking a beaver pond, an aquaponics greenhouse, and six miles of all-weather roads. Rental Options: UTVs, a golf cart, and a pontoon boat. Amenities: A comfort station with restrooms and showers, picnic tables, charcoal grills, large fire pits, shelters, a tree house shelter, a campground office, and a small store with a kids' sand playground. Located at Lake Godstone™ near Graford, Texas our Top of Dam Campground Connects Families to Nature. The Campground is about 80 feet by 250 feet and overlooks Lake Godstone™ to the West and a forested valley with Crappie Pond to the East. It is designed for group camping for large families or a group of camping friends with multiple tents and/or RV units. 5- 10 tents/small RV's can be parked on the campground. The comfort station with toilets and showers is a short walk to the upper trail where the secluded tent sites are located. There is also a portapotty beside the campground. The campground has two large fire pits, two large cedar picnic tables, a small shelter with two charcoal grills, table and seating, and a large tall rock protective wind cover to the North. The campground is accessible by a hilly gravel road. Light campers or RV's can access the dam over the spillway if they are pulled by heavy duty vehicles. A comfort Station with two toilets and two showers is located on the upper trail about a 5 minute walk away. A lower picnic area and fire pit shaded by the forest is located adjacent to the spillway. A new Crappie pond was built below the dam in October 2020. Fishing from the large rocks at the dam or the partially covered docks (with swim ladders and mooring post for kayaks and canoes) located around the lake is excellent and there are a number of openings around the lake to fish from. There are two water risers and two power boxes (20/30 amp each) provided at the campsite. Cell phone service is spotty. Wifi is free and is excellent. With four miles of mountain bike (non-motorized) and hike trails plus another five miles of all-weather gravel roads on our 188 acre ranch, there are lots of wildlife and vegetation viewing opportunities. The sports field complex with lit basketball, sand volleyball, soccer and baseball field is just a short distance away. The rate is $100.00 per night (8 guests) and each additional guest is $10.00 per night. FIrewood is $100.00 per bundle of 50 logs. Fishing is $10.00 per person per stay (under 12 children are free). Note that we have video surveillance on all roadways of the property for security and wildlife census.

The four-mile hike and bike trail (non-motorized) runs beside the campsite and Lake Godstone (with good fishing) and the sports complex with lit basketball, sand volleyball, soccer and baseball practice field is just a short walk away. A picnic table, power (20, 30 and 50 amp). charcoal grill and firepit are provided on this large campsite that will accommodate any size of RV or motor home and several tents. A large picnic table, charcoal grill and large fire pit are provided. The comfort station with toilets and showers is about 1/8 mile away. Note that we have video surveillance on all roadways of the property for security and wildlife census. Firewood is $10.00 per bundle of five logs. The Roost is an air-conditioned/heated cabin with a large covered porch, free wifi, electrical power, shower inside and outside, fire pit, large cedar picnic table under a large tree, wildlife feeders, full-sized fridge and cooking appliances, and it towers 10 feet in the air over an old stone water storage tank with a steel staircase. Sunsets and Sunrises here are breathtaking. Sleeps four inside and the RV spot with hookups is included in the base rate. My family and I loved camping at Lake Godstone. It was clean, well kept, just as advertised. The property is beautiful and great for stargazing. The cabins/ amenities were very well kept and comfortable. We felt safe and secluded out there. We will definitely be going back.

It was wonderful. Very polite. Got to roam around the ranch saw a plethora of animals. Listening to the coyotes at sunrise and sunset. Watching the monarch butterflies fly through camp was magical. The ranch operator and his wife (I’m so sorry I forgot their names) were so polite and nice the doggo too!. They were able to help out with fire wood. Clean facilities, drinking water available. Just great.

Top-of-Dam Group Campground

We had a great time as a group of two families staying at Lake Godstone- Top of the Dam camp spot. The kids LOVED fishing and catching baby frogs, us adults enjoyed the stargazing and hiking trails that are graveled and shaded which made trekking with littles easier. The Camp managers were very kind checking on us often helping with any items we needed- we absolutely loved how gracious and accommodating they were to our needs. (firewood, worms for fishing, even helped with an ant issue we were facing). The campsite was very rocky so if you book Top of the Dam make sure to bring a tarp for your tent protection and padding to sleep on. The only thing I would mention that we would have liked done better was the condition of the port-a-potty at our assigned campsite. To say the least it was not fit for human use. It was filled with maggots and when the wind caught it just right the stench swept over our camping site- so if you stay at the Top of the Dam be prepared to take a walk on the trails to reach the comfort station. we luckily packed a travel toilet for our littles, and it saved us for this trip. Also, a note, if you explore or book the treehouse location the stairs are very steep and narrow. we did not do our due diligence before letting our kiddos run up the stairs and on one's way down, she missed a narrow step and fell down the staircase. so please be careful if you choose that spot. Overall, we had a blast and will be back!

Panorama Group Campsite

First, the camp hosts were very nice but I won’t camp here again. Our site was so far from the bathrooms we had to drive, there was no shade and I spent $50 to rent a rowboat and canoe before I saw the “lake”. It was too rough for us, so that was just wasted money. The basketball court and volleyball court leave something to be desired as well. Not worth the money.

We had a wonderful time getting back to nature! Fishing, hiking, kayaking, and swimming! We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed the fresh air and all that God has to offer! The bathrooms were conveniently located and superbly clean! Even on a busy holiday weekend it didn't feel overcrowded! Definitely a must try for family campouts!

Reflection Cabin at Lake Godstone™

First and foremost, everything was beautiful. The land was well kept, peaceful, calm. Carol & Dom were absolutely pleasant to be around. They made sure we had everything we needed from the start of our trip to the end. I will definitely be back but with more people this time lol! I also noticed there were others camping with us on other areas but they were respectful and kind. We also did canoeing and paddle boating activities. At night, it was peaceful.

Panorama Group Campsite

We stayed at panorama with a 20ft camper and we loved it. The dogs had a great time as they were able to run around and explore as well. The fishing was great considering the weather we had to deal with, (50+ mph wind gusts), but we still had a great time. Our hosts were awesome and accommodating. We definitely want to come back to do swimming and fishing when the water isn’t so cold!

Overall good experience, friendly staff and beautiful area. Not as private as described, several drive-ins on our site road, out of curiosity it seemed. We blocked the road with our car to keep curious campers out. The site had a CAMERA directly facing the entire campsite. NOT a private site at all. Left after we found the camera, it was creepy.

It was a very fun experience staying at top of the dam campsite. We will be back and possibly stay at some of the other locations. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We forgot our pump to our air mattresses and they were able to provide a air compressor which helped out tremendously. Thank you so much! We will be back!

We had an incredible camping experience that far exceeded our expectations! From the moment we arrived, Carol and Dom made us feel like family with their warm welcome and hospitality. The campsite itself was pristine, peaceful, and had everything we could have possibly needed. Whether it was the serene surroundings, the thoughtful amenities, or the attention to detail, it was clear that Carol and Dom truly care about their guests' experience. This is a hidden gem, and we can't wait to return! The views, the lake, the vibe and next time we will check out refuge!! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a perfect getaway!!

Tentsite 16 at Lake Godstone™

So peaceful and quiet. It was my first time camping with a mom of 2 and it was perfect. We were at #16. The team who is running the camp sites, wife and husband they were wonderful and so kind as well. Ill def be back.

Panorama Group Campsite

Very nice location, everyone we met and came across were friendly and helpful. It served as a nice Basecamp for some geocaching and just time to talk and gather round the fire. Nice place! 👍

Top-of-Dam Group Campground

It was a great time with the family, camp ground was clean, wish there was more options in the shop for bait and snacks, also wish they could better maintain rental equipment and have more inventory for equipment rentals.

Tentsite 15 at Lake Godstone™

We had an amazing first father son camping trip. My son Cade (9) had a great time and met a lot of new friends. Dom was a great host and came by several times to check in on us. The property has everything, including running water and electricity at each tent site. We have already recommended Lake Godstone to several families. What a great weekend of first times for my son, Cade.

Tentsite 11 at Lake Godstone™

I spent one night here with my friends, we loved the place. Positives: - 188 acres big place - Water and electricity at composites - Most importantly free wifi with good speed considering NO mobile signal in area. - beautiful lake (throughly enjoyed swimming and Kayaking) - cleanly maintained washrooms and shower rooms - firewood can be purchased from host Points to be considered: - This place is far from city/town, so consider bringing everything required with you especially food items.
