Top-of-Dam Group Campground
Me and my 2 sons had a great experience. There is plenty of fun to be had for a few days. Carol and Dominique are very hospitable and accommodating. It’s worth the drive and the WiFi is reliable.

We loved Tent Camping at Lake Godstone... the fishing was amazing the kids caught a lot of fish, they all loved swimming in the lake, and the restrooms were very clean. Everyone was very nice and helped when we needed it. We would defiantly come back

Quiet but lively weekend away
We had such a great weekend. Our campsite was perfect, close to the ponds but also close enough to the restrooms. My kids had a blast fishing all day long and caught fish pretty much from sun up to sun down. We caught sunfish, bluegill, crappie, catfish and a couple of bass (if you’re hoping for bass, bring minnows with you!)
At night you can hear coyotes in the distance and it is so cool! We also enjoyed the sand volleyball and basketball court. The noise level was great the hosts were amazing. The only thing we would change is that the bathrooms had a community bar of soap, which felt kind of weird.
Overall, it was a great holiday weekend and we can’t wait to come back!

Site 15 - Secluded Tent Sites Lake Godstone
Loved this property! I had a good time fishing and recharging myself. Campsite 15 was in fact secluded from adjacent sites. Close to the bathrooms and showers but not too close. 😉 Dom and Carol were fantastic hosts. Upon my arrival they gave me a tour of the property and showed me all the good spots for fishing. This is a special place - I highly recommend it!

Reflection Cabin at Lake Godstone
Reflection cabin
My son and I had a great time at Lake Godstone. It was easy to find and the property was gorgeous and peaceful, and that's exactly what I came for. Our cabin was nice ( kinda small) but had everything we needed. Dom and Carol met us at our Cabin and gave us a ride around and showed us where things were. They were always just a call away for anything we needed and we're very kind. I had trouble getting my fire going because it was my first try so a ranch manager named Rick was kind enough to to build it and showed me so I knew how to do it myself the next night. We enjoyed paddle boating the most and swimming in the lake was nice too. It was so quiet all we heard were the bugs and birds. I would have liked to see some wildlife but with my son's needs, I wasn't able to sit and wait for them to show up. Overall it was an amazing trip that I didn't want to end. I'm grateful for the experience and hope to come back again.

Panorama View RV/Tent Campsite
Almost perfect!
Enjoyed the property overall. Loved the crosses and scriptures engraved in the rocks. The owner is very kind, and he gave us a tour of the beautiful property. We tent camped. The bathrooms are a little too far of a walk, so I wouldn’t pick this particular campsite again. They rent out golf carts and ATVs, although pricey if you’re saying several days. Beautiful little lake. Great for fishing and swimming!
Would stay here again, but if tent camping, I will pick somewhere closer to the bathrooms. Especially with kiddos!

Reflection Cabin at Lake Godstone
Reflection Cabin
Our stay at Reflection cabin has been relaxing and fun. It’s a simple cabin but with some added bonuses like a toilet, a sink, a small microwave, a small hot plate, a small key rig, a small toaster and a wall A/C unit. This is clamping at its best and it is exactly what we were looking for. The cabin came furnished with a table, chair, a bed with sheets and pillows, two towels, and the small kitchenette included utensils, a pot, plates and glasses. Even spices for cooking!
We brought our own paper towel roll. The room is perfect for two people. We brought our small dogs and it worked out perfectly.
Outside the cabin you have a welcome mat, and a cute porch where we put our camping chairs. It comes with a picnic table, a grill and a place to burn your fire logs.
The caretakers welcomed us and gave us a tour of the property, showed us the ponds and explained to us where the showers were, etc. they brought us firewood to make a fire.
The cabins and camping areas are far apart so you get a complete sense of peace. The only sounds come from the birds and the wind rustling the leaves.
Because all the windows in the cabin come with screens, we could sleep with our windows open and it was cool and peaceful.
We came to fish and relax and both were accomplished. We fished quite a bit of catfish and released it.
We loved our stay and will definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Very thoughtfully laid out so that each campsite has some privacy. Hosts were terrific and very helpful with my booking and once I got there. I wished I’d booked a longer stay so. I could have enjoyed the amenities.

Refuge Group Campground/Tree House
Great site! We had the whole site to ourselves and for a family of 6 with a dog it was prefect. The staff were nice and the starry sky was amazing. We enjoyed hiking around and spending most of our time in our hammocks and up in the treehouse deck. We will definitely be back!

Reflection Cabin at Lake Godstone
Great Time!!
We were immediately greeted by the property hosts who were very kind and gave us a free tour of the property. The Reflection Cabin was perfectly appointed so that you still get the camping feeling with a few added comforts. My son and I had a really great time at the ranch and would recommend trying out the Reflection Cabin or one of the other cabins or tent camp sites.

Pondside
A bare-bones cabin can do the trick
James gave plenty of clear directions, which was really helpful as I was travelling through TX on thanksgiving. I needed a covered place to stay during a rain event, and was pleased to find this locale on short notice.
I arrived late and when I woke up in the morning to have a look around, I did see a cool little lake (James let me know the fishing was good there) and got a lay of the land. I could definitely see the place being a nice out of the way area to chill out, fish, and duck hunt.
The Pondside cabin suited me well enough without any insulation, but I found the price to be a little high for the fact that there were no electrical hookups in the cabin. All of the pictures on the listing show cabins with sockets and light switches, but there were none in the Pondside. Also no mat to scrape off dirt and mud when you go inside. For a 40-45$ night with a 10$ cleaning fee, that seemed a little much for a primitive cabin.
But, like I said, it's well described and the folks who run it are helpful. So worthwhile to have a look if you've got plans and aim to stay a few days.

Refuge Group Campground/Tree House
Comfortable Campsite
Plenty of room for three families. We had a smaller pop up camper and a couple tents. The treehouse was great for the tent to be under during the rain. We had to leave a couple days early due to the rainstorm but other than that we loved our stay there. We got a little fishing in, played some kickball and baseball at the field, saw an armadillo and deer during daytime. There’s a nice large campfire ring at the campsite. The camp hosts are very friendly! We plan to come back in the spring!

First Camping Trip w/ kiddos 100⭐️s
First off I must say I am not one to leave reviews but my experience here and the customers service was absolutely fantastic. I can’t even put in to words how amazing this place is and how friendly and helpful everyone is. I took my 2 daughters (5and3) on their very first camping trip and I am beyond grateful I found this place. From the moment we drove up we were greeted and taken to our campsite. Ric made sure we were set up and that my babies were nice and warm. He genuinely cared about us and made sure we were safe and comfortable. He even offered to Upgrade us free of charge to a cabin because it was really cold and rainy and he wanted to make sure the kiddos were take care of (we declined) but only cuz the girls really wanted to set up the tent lol. The rain went away and it was absolutely gorgeous. The next day he took us around the entire property and gave us the grandest of tours! My girls had such an amazing time and already begging me to go back.
Ric thank you so much for taking great care of us and giving us lifetime memories that we can all share! We will be back in 2 weeks and will go many more times. This is our family spot from here on out!

The only reason why I don’t want to write an amazing review is we would love to keep this place to ourselves. Hosts are attentive, friendly and available if needed. The views and sites are amazing! Fishing was good too. Cannot wait to go back!! Hidden gem does not do this place justice. It truly is special.

Top-of-Dam Group Campground
Top of Hill Heaven
This location spot was superb. Plenty of space for multiple tents or campers. 0.18 miles/about a 4 min walk for the wonderful comfort stations. Clean, clean comfort stations! Dominic and Carol were great. Dominic took my kids and I on an ATV ride.
Just a word to the wise - it is high up on a hill (as it states) so if you pull a pop-up with a mini van (like us), put it in 2nd gear and make sure to keep your momentum to get up the hill. If the gravel would have been slick AT ALL, we would not have made it up the steep hill.
All in all, it was the BEST experience!

This place was incredible. Great place to take the family and enjoy quality time and nature together. The place is managed by two lovely sweet people who were a joy to talk with and they were very sweet to check in on us and briefly say hello to see if we needed anything. I will definitely be taking the family back to say afew nights next time.

Top Notch Hospitality & Lovely Land
This place was a wonderful getaway from our busy lives. You are surrounded by trees and ponds. Our kids enjoyed the trails, our tour on an ATV, the beautiful stars and Dom’s hospitality. Our son had an accident while we were out there and I can guarantee you he’ll remember Dom’s kindness and concern more than the accident. He hasn’t stopped talking about him since! We saw a deer and heard coyotes. We couldn’t get the observatory to work but I’m sure it is super cool! The only thing I wish is that our direct campsite had more shade/trees. 99% of the place is filled with trees but our spot was really hot around 3-5pm! Still had a blast regardless!
