This fully renovated 1955 Spartan Imperial Mansion sits on a high ridge with sweeping 270 degree views of the Hill Country. With a mid-century modern styling, it sleeps 4 and has a kitchen, bathroom, full sized jukebox with vinyl record collection and a fire pit. This peaceful hideout features tons of native wildlife, beautiful sunsets, dark sky stargazing and serene country vibes. Perfectly located: 2 min to Bankersmith, 5 mi. from Luckenbach and Old Tunnel State Park, 12 min to downtown FBG.

The Spartan Aircraft Company was an American aircraft manufacturing company, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Previously known as Mid-Continent Aircraft Company, the company had been reorganized under the Spartan name in 1928 by oil baron William G. Skelly — and operated until 1961, manufacturing aircraft, aircraft components, and recreational vehicle trailers. The company was known for the luxurious Spartan Executive aircraft produced in the late 1930s and early 1940s.
J. Paul Getty acquired the company from Skelly in 1935. After World War II, Getty ended aircraft production and converted the company to manufacturing travel trailers under the Spartan brand using similar building techniques and materials. The Spartan trailer was known as the “Cadillac of Trailers”, with gleaming birch interiors, an all aluminum skin and an art deco theme.
At the time the Spartans were produced, they retailed for $4000 or more with additional features, which was a large sum of money considering at the time you could buy a house for $8000. The Imperial Mansion was one of the largest offered by Spartan. This particular Mansion was gutted to the frame and overhauled in 2015.
