We loved the animals and closeness to the river. The goats are very friendly, and were a big highlight and Amy was very nice. However, the neighbors dogs were too much for us as they are very close to the campsite and were barking and howling all night. We were forewarned before we set up, and there is not anything that can be done about it.

Site 1 - Gypsy Moon RV Park
Would I recommend this place? Hmmm, maybe. It depends on what your expectations are. It was very quiet and peaceful. There a virtually no bugs which is wonderful because there are about a dozen free range chickens and about a dozen ducks/geese that roam freely with about another 45 feral ones that don’t interact with the campers. It seems everyone else there are long-term renters, but it also seems like there are two separate camping areas. I can only vouch for there one where campsite #1 is located. Amy is kind and available but leaves you alone. There is a tiny grocery on site but we didn’t go in there. It is riverfront, but I cannot tell you much about it because it was high water due to the rains. It was beautiful to watch, but we didn’t get in. There’s not much cell service, but there’s enough to call out and text. So, it definitely depends on what you’re looking for in a campsite whether you would want to book this place or not.

This was a wonderful spot to camp! We stayed at the Foxhollow site, and it was perfectly shaded with lots of flat ground for tents. The river access with the little beach was perfectly shaded for a relaxing day in the water. A truly great getaway!

Gipsy Moon was a great place for tent camping! The folks there are friendly and helpful, and the sites are lovely and clean. Generally, the campground was quiet and peaceful. We had two five-year-olds with us and they loved swimming in the river and petting all of the goats! We’d recommend, for sure.

This property is eclectic! They have plenty of sites to camp- all named accordingly, we stayed in Fox Hollow. It was such a cozy little site! There are restrooms and showers in the common area complete with goats and ducks!
They have a water source and youre able to collect as needed. Amy has fire wood available and fruits and veggies! Don't forget the camp kitten!!
I feel like people are permanent residents here-a tiny home community and you may need all wheel drive if it rains.
We would go back for sure, I want to venture out again and stay at the site by the river. Everyone kept to themselves and it was so peaceful and quiet--nature sounds, goats and ducks...it was great!

This place is really family friendly—particularly for those that want to go camping but don’t want to do their business outside and want to shower.
The animals are the best part imo. We got to pet the goats and even had some of the kids (goat babies) lay in our laps.
The site is very clean and the local community is very friendly.

I had a wonderful time at Gypsy Moon. Amy was very accommodating and the people there were all very friendly. I had an ideal campsite that was right on the river. Beautiful views and lots of nice public spaces. I hope to return soon with my family for kayaking. . I think the grandkids will love it!

Gypsy Moon Hideaway Primitive Camp
We had a great time at Amy’s place. We stayed at the primitive camp site, but everything was very close by and convenient. They had everything you needed on the property. The animals that lived there were awesome, especially Dirk the goat! I could have just watched the baby goats playing for hours! There were so many songbirds, and the stargazing was great. There were kayaks for rent, that could use a little updating, but while they wouldn’t be for a serious kayaker, (who would have their own gear), they were probably good enough for a novice to play around with. New paddles and seats would be nice. All in all it was a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again!

Amazing campsite and we loved the atmosphere. Will definitely be going again the Only issue was a RV with dogs that would not stop barking constant. Didn’t matter how far you could still hear them.

Amy and team are amazing, kind, and generous hosts. We enjoyed the animals, river, & land to roam on. It was a pleasant reprise from the city. We will definitely be back.

We stayed the weekend for a getaway from life and work. Such a calm and relaxing location. It was nice to lay in the hammock and watch the animals walk around. We enjoyed walks around the property with small trails to walk through. One of our best moments was sitting by the lake at night to star gaze, it was such a beautiful view of all the visible stars. Our 4 legged furry daughter really enjoyed laying on the top floor balcony of the dollhouse to enjoy the entire view. We had such an amazing weekend.
Thank you Amy for being such an accommodating host. We will definitely 1000% be back!

The experience was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Amy was very accommodating and great with our children in our group. This camp has a wonderful pavilion with lots of seating and activities for the children also. We loved the animals, the quiet, and the area to walk and enjoy. We will definitely recommend this place to others. We look forward to our next visit!!

The campsite was amazing! Great view, great vibes and an all around good time for a group of friends to camp together! Firewood was available and the portable toilet was clean and stocked with toilet paper. Our kids loved all the animals and the river

We enjoyed Gypsy Moon Hideaway on both visits. The Dollhouse was clean, had the essentials and we also got visited by some of the friendly animals who reside there. We will be back.

We’ve been here a few times and love it. We love the goats and the chickens and big Fred the goose. It’s beautiful and quiet. A beautiful drive back there too. You thankfully forget you are in the metroplex.
And Amy the host is a sweetheart.
Please don’t take site 1 we like it open for ourselves. lol

Loved this campsite everything about it was beautiful!! the stars at night were by far the best part about it. We all had so much fun and will definitely be coming back when the weather is not as cold:)
