Lakeside camping
GREAT little campsite! But..
We booked this site the day-of (arrived only roughly an hour or so after we booked it) and it was still great! They keep the grassy area mowed. The first time I tried to walk up to the water (about 30 ft from our tent), I stepped about an inch away from a snake hiding in the brush so that was a little scary! Because of the low land, the ground was really soft/wet and our tent pegs came out a few times so we had to use extra. We were able to kayak from the shore right by the site and had a great time! There were a few downsides though: 1) was there wasn’t a toilet, shower (hot water), or trash bin (that was openly/obviously available to us to use) as the ad mentioned; 2) there was NO communication between us and the host. I first tried texting the number back from the automated text message (from Hipcamp after booking) saying we could text back to Hud, and I did but never got a response. I then tried to call the number on the listing and it was out of service. I THEN tried emailing the email on the listing and still nothing. We never even saw them or talked to them in person either. While communication wasn’t necessary for entry into the site or anything like that, it would’ve been nice to have communication with our hosts and get guidance or be able to ask any questions about anything.; 3) the last thing isn’t that major at all (compared to the first 2) but the road to the campsite was a little sketchy, bumpy, had various debris in the way, but mostly it was overgrown. I had to get out and hold branches back so our car could pass without getting all scratched up each time. Again, we didn’t give them much warning at all to us camping there, so I understand some things won’t be 100% ready. We still had a great time for our short adventure!

Primitive Lakeside Experience
Had a fun experience over all; the location on the lake allowed for some fun adventures!
Important clarifications- the inside toilet and showers were available “for emergencies only”. The host really expected for people to bring their own or plan for primitive camping.
The rowboat is available to rent for $10/day.
Their were piles of trash/rubble around the camping areas... so maybe not safe for young kids.

Love this gem!
I really like this place. The pictures actually don’t do it justice at all, it was much different than I expected. There was a peninsula where we were able to drive on and setup camp. It was pretty private. The site is in the backyard of their house, but it’s a huge yard and the separation makes It feel like you’re in your own space. The host was pretty nice and available when we needed things like running water. There’s no bathrooms, it’s real primitive camping! He actually has a row boat that was for rent and we really really enjoyed going out on the lake and fishing. There are lots of catfish there! We definitely will be back to this camp spot and would recommend it to others as well.
