Directions were easy to follow and the roads in weren’t bad at all. I stayed at Coyote Corner and it’s a nice open area with plenty of space to set up camp. There was a lot of wildlife around—saw turkeys and deer throughout the stay, which made it even better. The weather was perfect and having a full moon at night really added to the experience. My one-year-old Aussie was definitely stimulated the whole time in a good way and loved exploring. The host was very informative and helpful, which made everything smooth. I’ll definitely be back and plan to try the other site next time.

Overall we had a good experience, but definitely would have enjoyed it more without our dogs (to be fair, we were warned in the listing description)! The property was quiet, private, and easy to find. We enjoyed the creek close by, the stargazing at night, the sounds of wildlife, and the unique campsite. However, not ideal for pets as there were widespread grass burrs, multiple tick sightings, and some red ant piles nearby. Likely season-dependent, so might be pet safe other times throughout the year.

Coyote Corner
Had an easy camp under a beautiful sky. The host was super communicative and helpful. The site was clean and flat. Outhouse cute and convenient distance. My kids loved finding the remains of the spooky trail on the property

We cannot say enough about Alana (Host) and this location. This was our very first Hipcamp experience and we could not have asked for a more amazing host and beautiful nights of camping. We will definitely be back.

Let me tell you, this private little campsite is awesome. It was easy to get to, the space was secluded, even with the other spot occupied. I felt like I was the only person there! The creek is close by but I felt like I had to almost cross into the other campsite to get to it. I stayed at coyote crossing, the other campsite is much closer to the creek. Not the end of the world because I still felt like I had the property to myself, it was that spacious. The outhouse is clean and well stocked. Bring a light if you’re going at night! But there is a little light inside of the outhouse. I bought the firewood bundle, totally worth it. Lots of wildlife nearby that you’ll hear, nothing to be worried about. You’ll be woken up to sounds of birdsong and turkeys! This would be an awesome spot for group camping, definitely going to try to come back with a group of friends. Great place to be out in nature away from it all, thanks again to Alana for hosting me.

A truly wonderful campsite. Felt very private and spacious, the creek was lovely to be able to walk down to (about 30 steps from the campsite), great land, skull tree was very cool- felt like a museum of local animals but on a beautiful tree, was very safe, and was a great site for our dog. Would definitely recommend staying here

We really enjoyed the creek! It was a beautiful area. Our only issue was the sticker burrs at our site. My dog kept getting them in her paws, and ended up limping quite a bit throughout the weekend. But that’s just the way that area is. Not the ‘fault’ of the host at all.
So if you have pets…or littles…be mindful of the sticker burrs and their little feet.

If you want a camping trip with personality, this is it. Loved the 'spooky-cool' vibe of the 💀 "Skull Tree" 💀 and the quiet peace of the river. Coyote Corner was a great setup with plenty of room for a big tent and a perfect fire pit for s'mores. Alana made the whole process easy and welcoming. Highly recommend! 🏕

This was an amazing place - secluded, peaceful, and beautiful. I fed the turtles and fish in the creek a few yards away. Skull Tree was magical. I had to leave early for a personal emergency, but I'll definitely return. Hope you get to enjoy it!

We had a great time! Lots of space at Coyote Corner for a large group and Skull Tree is a pretty cool more intimate spot with a lot of shade. There was a nice peaceful spot to sit overlooking the creek. Outhouse was solid and had a solid toilet to sit on, very clean. It was nice seeing the cows up close and our dogs had a blast out there. Alana was a five star host and went above and beyond to take care of our needs. We look forward to booking there again soon.

Was a great experience at the skull tree. Loved how many butterflies were around and the creek was nearby. Such a secluded site which id exactly what I wanted. The outhouse was also very convenient. Only issue I had was some noisy neighbors at the coyote corner that were playing loud music until 2ish in the morning.

Had a blast at the Skull Tree campsite! Quiet, secluded, plenty of shade, and lots of greenery! Also, if you want a break from camp food for a meal, check out McMillan’s World Famous BBQ in Fannin just down the road!

Very nice, remote campsite. Lots of space and open prairies with wildflowers and patches of oaks. Directions were clearly communicated and were clear on the ground once at the site. Would definitely recommend and plan to stay again if I’m passing through the area!

Cool camping spot that you wouldn’t expect in a place like Goliad. We stayed in the Skulltree camp and the shade the two oak trees produce is perfect on warmer days. It stays ten to fifteen degrees cooler in the shade.
Plenty of space to set up camp, there were quite a few fire ant mounds within the campsite so be careful for that.
Hosts were fantastic, great communication prior to showing up, and they leave you be, wish we really loved and appreciate! Would highly recommend!!

This property is incredibly secluded yet, very easy to get to. There is also a locked gate which, makes the property feel very secure and even more secluded. The campsite is nestled under 2 amazing oak trees that provide dense cover from the elements and excellent shade from the sun. There is a small stream nearby that has an abundance of turtles and fish to watch. The outhouse on-site is very primitive however, was extremely clean and free of bugs. When we arrived, there was a bundle of firewood and 2 bags of fish food waiting for us which, we purchased with the booking. We are definitely looking forward to another stay here!
