Welcome to the heart of Far West Texas, where adventure meets comfort in our unique tent rentals in Terlingua! Nestled in the rugged splendor of the Chihuahuan Desert, Crows Peak combines the beauty of the great outdoors with the luxury of a comfortable retreat. Each tent is equipped with a queen-size memory foam mattress, LED lights and a solar powered battery that can charge cell phones and other small devices. A propane camp stove is also provided (with one 16 oz can of propane), as well as several small storage compartments. The tents are 11' tall and 8' wide, with a private deck, providing ample space to stretch out and relax. Thoughtfully positioned to provide panoramic views of the vast desert landscape, you will be able to immerse yourself in the tranquility of the desert while enjoying an elevated camping experience. You can step onto the deck and savor a cup of coffee as the sun rises and paints the sky in oranges and pink. Or, unwind at the end of the day with a glass of wine while you gaze at the stars under one of the darkest skies in the country. Located 35 minutes from the entrance to Big Bend National Park and the Terlingua ghost town, this is a great base to explore everything the area has to offer. The Terlingua Ranch Lodge is an easy 15 minute drive and features the Bad Rabbit restaurant, a pool and a bath house with hot showers. Showers are $2/each and a day pass for the pool is $8. Ice and other small provisions are available at the Ranch office. Access to the property requires driving 1 mile on a dirt road, but does not require 4-wheel drive or high clearance vehicles.Crows Peak is located in the Chihuahuan Desert on a dirt road one mile off of paved Terlingua Ranch Road. A high clearance/four-wheel drive vehicle is not required and parking is available across from the tent. The property is situated on fifty acres and features mostly flat desert scrub as well as several small rocky hills. There are three tents for rent and one RV (not available for rent). Boonta is located next to the Peli Motto Tent and both are 200 yards from the third tent. All three share a communal porta-potty. A camp stove is provided as well as one 16 oz can of propane and two gallon jugs of water. The tents are 11' tall and come equipped with a queen size memory foam mattress, storage, and solar panels that power LED lights and a battery that can charge cell phones and other small devices. Linens are not currently provided, with the exception of a mattress pad. Terlingua Ranch Lodge is five miles/fifteen minutes away, and features the Bad Rabbit Cafe (currently open 7am to 8pm), bathhouse with hot showers and a pool. Showers are $2/ea and a pool day-pass is $8/person.

Crows Peak “marfa lights” Encounter

ANOTHER AMAZING TIME AT CROWS PEAK! The stars at night are big and bright, at Crows Peak! On our very last night I was standing on the porch of the tent when I encountered some of those “marfa lights”. I was absolutely stunned. This beautiful piece of land is truly special. Thanks to Jimmi and Abbey, we will be coming back soon to stay at our favorite Terlingua Place!

My husband and I stayed here 4 nights in mid-March. The weather was perfect. The mattress was perfect. The tent was perfect. The STARS were perfect!!! Everything was perfect---except maybe having to use a portapotty for toileting. But it is very clear in the description that a shared portapot is the only thing provided for doing your business, so we knew exactly what to expect. Also, 2 of the tents are very close together and you can hear every word and every movement from your neighbors, so just be aware of that when booking. I would definitely recommend this place if you want to be one with nature

INCREDIBLE!!! I can't say enough great things about this site or these hosts! A truly wonderful experience. The tents are super cool and very secure - it felt like being on Safari. Such a pleasure to be able to lay in bed and watch the sunset and sunrise. The views are incredible and the pictures don't do them justice. The hosts are super accommodating and friendly too - 10/10 recommend!!

Best Tent Experience Ever!

I can’t believe we were so lucky to find this place! The tempt was amazing and so comfortable. The views couldn’t be beat from every single angle. We are avid campers and had brought our expensive cook stove. We tried to fire it up to cook dinner only to find that it was totally broken! We ate our dinner cold and we’re sitting around wondering how we were gonna make our camp coffee in the morning when I pulled out the binder of information from the tent. They supply a camp stove in a bottle of propane and a bottle of water! Our trip was saved! We can’t wait to come back here.

Jimmi and Abbey were fantastic hosts—gracious, welcoming, and always willing to accommodate. Their property is a true desert oasis, offering both privacy and seclusion, making it the perfect escape from the crowds. The tents were spacious and thoughtfully set up, with incredibly comfortable beds that made for a restful night under the stars. The location couldn’t be better—just a short drive from Big Bend and Terlingua, yet far enough away to feel completely immersed in nature. The sunsets over the desert were absolutely breathtaking, and the night sky was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. If you're looking for a peaceful, off-the-grid retreat with stunning views and great hospitality, this is the place!

My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time staying in the tent. We were exploring Big Bend for a weekend and used this as our home base, and it was a perfect spot to enjoy great scenery in a secluded area while still having some comforts like a real bed and phone chargers. The stars at night were incredibly vibrant, and sunrise over the ranch was gorgeous. Definitely would recommend it for anyone looking for a unique blend of glamping and primitive camping in a beautiful setting.

Four days at Jimmi's site in Terulinga felt like stepping into another world. Surrounded by majestic mountains, the beauty of the location is simply breathtaking. The night sky, a vast canvas of glittering stars, shrinks you to a humbling speck, leaving an indelible mark on your soul. This secluded haven offers a profound sense of peace, a true escape. While the nearest amenities are a bit of a drive – a 30-minute trip for groceries and a 15-minute journey on a rough, unpaved road to the Terulinga Cabin for showers – the tranquility and natural splendor more than compensate. Pack provisions, embrace the adventure, and prepare for an unforgettable experience. Without hesitation, I give Jimmi's site a glowing 10/10

Desert escape!🌌

By far our favorite Hip Camp stay yet! Crows Peak made for a romantic and cozy getaway for Valentines weekend. The hosts were very accommodating, even gifting us treats for V day! A good mix in between glamping & camping. Boyfriend and I typically camp, but we felt like treating ourselves! It was lovely to wake up to the sunrise and bird songs. It was even more awesome to fall asleep under the stars and see the moon glow. This site felt unreal. 100% recommend for anyone wanting an escape but still staying near Big Bend!

ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE WE Have STAYED USING HIPCAMP! If your looking to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place. Jimmi was great for giving the best directions for entrance and clear instructions on how to get into tent and making ourselves comfortable. The “Jupe” was so comfy, the bed is memory foam and you can just melt away after a long day in Big Bend. Scenery? Well ofcourse, the morning sunrise is a doooozy but once that sun falls you can be sure that the Texas Star Lit night will blow your mind. Being able to spot constellations and making wishes on every shooting star passing over head. The shower situation, also…not shabby! The folks at Terilingua ranch were so accommodating. We also blew a tire not even a half mile from the ranch and they came to our rescue. I’d give this place a 10/10. Owners are wonderful people and we are definitely planning our next stay. Seclusion. Scenery. This place has it all.

The tent was perfect for my wife and I. The views are great, especially all the stars you can see at night! Not hard to get to either. There is a little bit of dirt road that you have to go down, but not bad.

Loved the open feel. I visited to shoot the milky way and to explore the national park. I was not disappointed. I had everything I needed and Jimmi was very responsive. I’ll be visiting again soon.

This is our first trip to this area of Texas and we would definitely come back and stay in this cabin. The owners are super attentive, in addition to the cleanliness, cosy and beautiful of the place. It has beautiful views and accessibility to the place is not at all difficult.
