The Tin Barn Lodge is a newly renovated pole barn which was originally constructed in 1951 to serve the needs of the Meyer family, original owners of the property. Their original house, which is now Comfort Cottage, is one of 3 houses on the property. It is rumored among Meyer descendants that there was a moonshine still on the property during prohibition, and the "bottle graveyard" in the middle creek area would tend to corroborate this rumor. In addition to the Meyer cottage, a second, smaller cottage formerly owned by the Mayer Family was moved onto the property in 2002, the same year in which the main house was built by yet another, different, Meyer family. The three houses comprise The Cottages on Mill Creek, a B&B and event center which has operated on the property. The Tin Barn area, though in close physical proximity to the cottages, is separated by a cattle guard, and the back area is quite private, though cottage guests do also have access to the fishing pond. The property is only 6 miles from Round Top Square. The town boasts world class classical music facilities (Festival Hill), art venues and galleries, and historical points of interest. Round Top is also home to an internationally-known antique show from mid-March to the beginning of April and mid-September to the beginning of October. Learn more about this land: Located on 35 acres just 6 miles from Round Top Square, this converted pole barn can host up to 6 people in air-conditioned comfort, or serve as a lodge for group tent camping. The 6 "bedables" were custom-designed to hold a comfy standard twin mattress. Want tables instead? The headboard holds the mattress in place and with a turn, you now have six sturdy tables for crafting and gathering. The space has a sitting area, kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker) and a full bathroom. The sliding doors on the back open to a lovely grove that is perfect for group tent camping. If more privacy is desired, campers may prefer a more remote spot near the creek that runs through this 35 acre property. Miniature horses and 3 donkeys reside permanently on the property. Cattle is present on a rotating basis, but is kept distant from the lodge. Deer, coyotes, and other critters have been spotted in the pastures and near the creek. The barn is adjacent to a stocked fishing pond. There are 2 cottages and a main house which operate as The Cottages on Mill Creek bed and breakfast. The barn is across the cattle guard, but within sight of these buildings from the barn front entrance, but the back camping area is more secluded.

    Beautiful barn and extremely welcoming! I loved my stay and would definitely recommend staying. The breakfast was delicious and dietary restrictions were accommodated. The happy vibe from this place just rubs onto you as soon as you set foot. There’s a lake with plenty of fish and the animals are adorable. Cannot recommend a night here enough!

    Lucky Farm- a perfect paradise
    Sue made our group feel so welcome and happy. We had everything we needed; the kids loved the animals and we enjoyed a night fire and morning walks. We would come here ANYtime.

    Such a lovely piece of land!! I had a wonderful stay in the field under the stars. Friendly donkeys even paid me a visit. There is a small pond where I spread out a blanket to read and was not even bothered by bugs. Sue is a welcoming and lovely host. I can't wait to come back!

    Sue was wonderful. Her facility met our expectations well. I should have given her advance notice that we planned to bring a small popup camper trailer - she could have helped us be more prepared for a small (seasonal) creek crossing to access the site.

    The sie was amazing! We pulled up and were promptly greeted by the welcoming committee -the donkeys. It was such a nice getaway, and we will definitely be back.

    We stayed at the RV space with full hook up, my 3 yr old daughter loved the ponies and the donkeys. They are very friendly and she loved feeding them carrots supplied by the host. She also tried fishing. It was a great experience for us.

    This was our first time “HipCamping” and we’re hooked. We had a great Experience with our host Sue. The property was beautiful, quiet and isolated. We booked w Sue so we could watch the Pereids. We had a wonderful view of the night sky. We can’t wait to come Back when it’s a little cooler to camp just for the sake of camping!

    Wow! This was such an incredible experience. Sue was welcoming, helpful, and easy to get in contact with. When we showed up she gave us delicious treats she had made. Directions to the camp site were very easy to follow. We showed up and camped on a beautiful pasture and the soft grass made a nice cushion for the tent. The miniature horses were the sweetest little animals and would lean against us. There wasn’t much shade where we set up camp but there was a beautiful oak canopy by the horses. I could go on about the beauty and privacy of the land but what was so amazing was Sue’s hospitality.

    We had an amazing weekend. The camping spot was beautiful and well shaded. Sue provided a table, chairs and a great fire pit. There wasn’t any water in the creek but Sue gave us instructions to a little lake in Winedale and we got to take our inflatable kayak out. It was the perfect spot for a camping weekend. We’ll take our fishing rod next time

    This place is great, the camp site is in the far back corner of the property so you truly get a primitive experience. It was easily accessible with our Prius. There is plenty of hiking trails and a pond to fish from. My son loved hanging out with the super friendly donkeys as well. The camp site has plenty of shade but also plenty of open sky for stargazing. We had a Great time!

    We had so much fun! Our stay was very eventful and the place is BEAUTIFUL!! We enjoyed the wildlife, ponies and donkeys, and the fishing. The host, Sue, is so nice and accommodating. Such a great time, we will definitely go back, soon!

    This was a fantastic getaway from the city! Sue is a great host and the campsite is excellent. We enjoyed relaxing in the shade, feeding the mini horses, and doing a bit of fishing. I would highly recommend this site!

    Lucky Farm- a perfect paradise
    Enjoyed our stay at Lucky Farm. The cottage comfortably housed our young family of 6. Might be a little tight with older kids/adults as two of the beds are futons, but worked great for us! AC gave relief from outdoor temperatures. The 5 acre lot was secluded. We hung hammocks between the cypress trees and enjoyed relaxing and exploring. The five acre lot was perfect for letting the kids roam free. It did feel a bit small for hiking, so we took advantage of the acreage at the Cottages at Mill Creek for longer hikes and exploring. While at the Cottages, the kids fed the miniature horses and played on the swings and seesaw. Overall a great experience! Great balance between natural seclusion and modern conveniences.

    This campsite was absolutely wonderful -- private, shaded, and well-maintained. Sue was also very responsive and kind via messages. The highlight was definitely sunrise by the pond and a morning cuddle from the donkeys. We'd definitely come back!

    We had a fantastic stay - the site is beautiful and was just what we were looking for - easy to get to but private and secluded. Our toddler had a great time and the friendly donkeys were a hit. We will be back for sure.
