First of all, thank you Bridget for your kindness & generosity. I would def recommend Riverbank site #2. Mother Nature was acting up the weekend of our trip. Due to unpredictable storms, the normal sandbar was underwater, and it was extraâŚânatureyâ. When circumstances like this occur, itâs out of anyoneâs control. Youâve just gotta lean in & make the best of it! Other than that, it was absolutely lovely! My husband and I, our 7yr old, my two stepdaughters, and our senior pup, all enjoyed ourselves.
When we initially arrived, the weather was really nice. We put our tubes in the water & got our float on. The zephyrs dancing through the trees, the flow of the river, the picturesque landscape...Majestic! We brought our own canoe and had fun fishing and exploring. A couple of times we paddled hard upstream then let our paddling and the current propel us back downstream. Total shred points!!! lol The outdoor showers/bathroom were awesome! Thank you for providing such a thoughtful amenity.
Just a note: The weather didnât help this situation, but there were tons of ants! My two teenage stepdaughters were tripping about all the bugs, ants, and spiders! Iâll say this, if youâre not easy-going, & if youâre fearful of bugs, ants, etc, this may not be the campsite for you. I grew up camping in SFL. Lots of mud & critters. Organic & beautiful in its own way. I love escaping the city and unplugging. Hubby & I canât wait to come back alone & try the river-rat shack ;) Thanks again <3

We stayed in a mini trailer near the lake and had a great time overall. The lake view was beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a weekend getaway. We loved that we could fish, though we wish the fishing had been a bit better. One downside was that the stove didnât come with gasâwe had to make a last-minute trip to Walmart 20 minutes away at 8PM. Despite that, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back!

Great spot! We had it all to ourselves the whole weekend. It rained so the river was a bit high so we couldnât really kayak without paddling against the current (which we did anyways!! Lol) great trip and time with family. Host was awesome and very accommodating. Clean facilities. Everything you need for a good reconnect with nature.

On The River Camping was such a perfect get away for my spouse and our closest friends. Despite lots of rain on Friday evening, the site dried out extremely well and made for an excellent weekend spot to just hang out, fish, kayak, and laze around while the kids were at their grandparents house!
In addition to the awesome spot, Bridget went above and beyond on so many occasions. When our truck got stuck near by (not on her property), Bridget offered to inlist family to assist. She then was super flexible because of the rain and offered so many accommodations since Friday night got a little wonky for us!
Finally, Hipcamp made a few billing errors, and Bridget spent a good amount of time emailing with customer service, while staying in contact with me the whole time, to make it right and make sure we didnt get overcharged (by Hipcamp) for the stay!
11/10 would recommend!

Lovely, peaceful campsite near the Colorado River, with plenty of room to spread out. We got luckyâwe were the only ones camping so had the place to ourselves all weekend. Bridget was a fantastic and welcoming host, immediately responding to all of our questions and requests. Electric hookup at site and communal bathhouse and dish washing area were great amenities. We loved our time here and will definitely return!

This is the perfect country retreat along the Colorado River! We stayed in the fancy river shack and the accommodations were absolutely amazing. The 1st night I used the outdoor grill which was perfect along with a fire pit evening. The host delivered two bundles of firewood immediately upon request at $10 a bundle. The second night was too windy for a fire but it was still great. The River Shack is just a short walk down to the river bank and there are two tent and camping sites close to the shore with their own amenities. All sites are peacefully and perfectly placed to provide a woodsy country private and tranquil get away feel. The River Shack itself is so attractive and the kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom are perfect and modern, and can be compartmentalized with sliding doors. Three flat-screen TVs across the jacuzzi room, living room, and bedroom were great, along with a desk area for your laptop with wifi. Last and of course, the jacuzzi room lets you know you are "Glamping" in ultimate style and country grace! I literally watched the morning news with coffee in the jacuzzi! Why not! With nature watching I saw 10 deer total throughout my stay and a Cow! My Lady and family will return one day and get some fishing done!

One of the best out there. Bridget was fast to respond and really cares about the guest experience. She went above and beyond a few times unprompted. The sites were great and spaced well apart. Easy drive from Austin. Kayaks available for rent and we took them out to go fishing. Beautiful land that is well taken care of. Plenty of details that show that the property owners care - from the fire pits to the showers to the layout of the sites - all very well thought out. Our family had a wonderful time.
One note - you can hear the train horns at night, which kept us up the first night. They didnât seem to bother us as much the second night. Bring earbuds if youâre sensitive to that.

Really beautiful site. The river was great for fishing and paddle boarding. The kids had a blast. The bath house was clean and convenient. Bridget was responsive and helpful. The only small negative was noise at night (train, dogs barking); it isnât terrible but detracts from the beautiful birds in the morning.

The land is really nice for a campground. Only a few sites total on seemingly a few acres. We had the river site which was really nice, great views, etc. Fire pit is giant, picnic table was nice. Host worked hard to fix an electrical box for us within the first hour or so of us arriving. Host was very nice, responsive, and even offered us late check out. Bathroom and shower was clean and not bad at all for a campground- has lights and a sink, hot water, etc. They even have a hose to wash belongings.
Cons: River isnât all that clean to go in, refund policy is a bit extreme. Perhaps River flow was just out of season. Also, if you donât have a group of 4-6, the cost does seem a hair high to be tent camping. Still it met our needs!
Still, we will probably return!

This is a great location for fishing, rafting/boating, or just relaxing by the river. The other sites are spread out enough that even when it was full the weekend we were there, you still feel a sense of privacy. The bath house is an extra benefit with two showers and a clean/well kept toilet, with sinks for washing up.
Bridget goes the extra mile to ensure the guests are taken care of.
When the guests at the b&b shack up the hill were blasting music after night fall, Bridget responded quickly to our request for them to turn down the volume. Very much appreciated that!

Stayed with my boys, 7 and 9 right at the end of 2024. Everything was as advertised. The bathhouse was clean, and everything worked. Campsite is picturesque sitting on the banks of the river. We had the whole campground to ourselves and the solitude was magnificent. We had deer come right up within 20-30 feet of us. Really enjoyed fishing as well, I brought my own large kayak but we also used one of those available at the campsite. We only fished for about 2.5 hours and I caught 8 bass! Would have gotten an earlier start if I knew the fishing was so good. Itâs not easy fishing with the current and wind, but if you know what youâre doing there are a lot of fish out there. Highly recommend, will hopefully get to come back one day.

Bridget and her husband are great hosts. The camp is as described. Quiet and secluded. We stayed at lot 1, by the river. The river had a bunch of moss/algae so it was difficult to fish near shore with casting with lures, so need to toss far with bait, which I didnât have any. Bridget was always attentive and was always willing to help with any needs. We had a great time!

Such a perfect spot for camping on the river. We were in a waterfront site and it was great to wake up to the view in the morning. Firepit is huge and so nice, we used it for paella as well as evening campfires. The bathhouse is perfect with hot showers and a great sink for doing dishes. The best part is the host; Bridget was attentive and friendly. They delivered firewood right away and communicated throughout our stay to make sure everything was good. Canât wait to go back!

Amazing piece of land and top tier amenities for anyone that isnât a hardcore camper. Clean and nice restrooms and showers. Equipment like floats and kayaks to use, ground is soft and easy to stake tents down. Nice picnic benches at each site and great campfire grills. Really good spot for families or intro campers.
