Fences and Gates are God's way of saying, 'Respect Private Property'. You do not want to go over, under, through one of our fences without our permission or open a gate without our explicit permission. EVER. Do not enter animal pens or put your hand or arms through fences. Do NOT allow dogs to go in, or to bark at animals. We have animals on the other side of these fences that will kill both man and beast. We keep our gates locked for everyone's safety. Never open a gate without a certified employee. (Petting through the fence is NOT allowed!) Do not feed anything to our furry friends. We welcome ya'll like family, but that means respecting our property and animals like they are your own. Be smart and courteous and keep all gates locked and everyone stays happy. If there is anything that would make your stay more comfortable please feel free to ask for Bobby or Kayla at the Saloon. We'd put our numbers here so ya'll could text but HipCamp does not allow it. We are here to serve! Please remember that check out is at 12 PM. If you need longer just inform us! Population: you {for the duration of your stay} PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Maintaining 85 acres etc is NOT cheap. Plus, the added admin of bookings, cancellations, folks on property is an expense of time and $. THE ONLY THING WE ASK: If you have a good time here PLEASE leave a review and a few photos on YELP AND GOOGLE for GRAPETOWN VINEYARD or BANKERSMITH TX. The reviews on this site, here, are great, but they do little to get the word out to our larger audience. Just check in with us. Closed Mon-Tue. We also have festivals and concerts most Saturdays. Do You Want Peacefulness
What a great place this was for us. My wife and I were traveling back north to the central US after Traveling down the TX gulf coast starting Dec 19. On our way back home we stayed here in mid Feb. Wife and I loved it. So did our two small dogs. Had a nice camp fire each night. We loved seeing Fredericksburg and loved the Hill Country. We were there 3 days total and even had a couple Armadillos hang out in our area. It was so peaceful. That鈥檚 what we enjoyed. The peacefulness.

Depends what you are looking for
I read the reviews before we got there so we knew what to expect. We needed a spot to park for the night and while there could have been a bit clearer signage, we ended up in the right spot. It rained most of the night and the owner came and got us up early as more rain was coming. His truck and ours were sliding around - thankfully we were able to get out after sliding around in 4wd. Glad he came and got us when he did. While we never planned to head to the bar or the store, it's .8 of a mile from the field we're you park. For ~$38 including tax, we'd likely find another spot. For others, it might be just what they want.

Nothing really stood out other than the cool bar/restaurant across the street out in the middle of nowhere. The land was just an empty field. No trees in the fenced in area. But it was a place that felt safe due to being quite a ways from town. Although there was a surprising amount of traffic because of the air bnb or the safari tour that's also on the property but further up the driveway.

Great open space makes it easy to set up with a group of friends. Short walk to the bar and restaurant which had great food and live music!

- It is a primitive camp as the description says, although there was a portable bathroom available, the place is quiet, we went to see the eclipse and it was what we expected, the girl at the bar who guided us to the camp parking lot was very friendly anyway than the person who reviewed the reservation.
