We had a wonderful stay at Stewart’s Cove in Cabin 3! Gene was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the cabin itself was clean and comfortable with great water pressure and a beautiful view. We loved being able to catch fish right from the pier and truly enjoyed every moment. We’re already planning to return — this time bringing our whole family!

This is our second year coming back and it was as great as the first time. There’s plenty of things to do and places to explore on the lake. We came for the fishing and did not leave disappointed.

I absolutely LOVED this place! It was so peaceful and the exact unwind place I was looking for. Cabin was clean, and cozy with great views It was my dog’s first time at the lake and he had a blast going in and out of the water. My favorite part was laying on the dock at night, listening to the crickets, frogs, and looking at the stars. 100% will be going back.

We rented cabins 1 and 2 for a weekend family trip. We had an amazing time! I cannot say enough about how awesome this site is. They have so much to do; basketball, sand box, petal boats, kayaks, life jackets and a WATERSLIDE. The waterslide was a huge hit for both the kids and adults! The Pavilion is covered and a great place for the kids to play. We spent most of our time in the area near the water slide and the dock; there are 2 picnic tables, a grill and an outdoor sink here. We brought flashlights and lanterns but didn't need them! The cabins have plenty of outside lighting, the pavilion and area with the grill also have lights! Both cabins 1 and 2 have a loft area with a little door that closes at the bottom of the stairs. Cabin 2 has a lock on the door, this was helpful since we had a toddler traveling with us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and you will too!

We spent a lovely week at this Hipcamp spot and had an absolutely fantastic time. From the moment we arrived, everything was just right—the lakeside was ready for swimming, complete with a fun water slide, and the air conditioning in our cabin was wonderfully cool.
Our host was incredibly hospitable and made sure we felt right at home. We spent our days canoeing, kayaking, and exploring the local town’s charming antique shops, a new ice cream parlor, and a cozy bookstore. We also enjoyed a delightful little diner one evening.
One highlight was taking a boat over to a local restaurant with dockside access, which was a really unique experience. We loved it so much that we decided to stay an extra day to soak up more of the lakeside relaxation.
Overall, it was an easy drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth area and perfect for a family getaway

This is my 3rd time at Genes place and it never disappoints! Beautiful sunrises, beautiful lake, great property! Lots of amenities. It's a real diamond in the rough. Gene is a true super host and very personable! I'm already looking forward to my next stay there! 💯💯

Where to even start! Gene was the most absolute wonderful host and made us feel so welcome from the very start. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed to kickstart the weekend. There were so many amenities, but we heavily enjoyed the kayaks and they were so much fun. I would definitely recommend booking this place for a weekend getaway as the view was simply amazing. Gene even wowed us with his card tricks and honestly, that was literally the cherry on top. I can go on and on about how great this location was and how great Gene was, but you should definitely find out for yourself and book. You will not regret it!! It was secluded and the quietness was top tier. The cabin was phenomenal and had enough space for 4 girls with a lot of bags (lol) and the hot water was ahhhmazing. Thank you Gene for hosting us and honestly being so welcoming and kind, especially with the birthday party. It was truly a pleasure and we will be back !!

We stayed here with our boys over spring break. The cabin was cozy, very clean, had everything we needed. It was just the right size for the 4 of us. The lake is breathtaking and very quiet! The sunrises there are beautiful. They have activities for the whole family! Mr Gene was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Our family had a great time here. The cabin is clean and we'll stocked with linens and such for the cooler nights. We had no issues cooking any meals or figuring out the sleep situation. The view of the lake from the window and porch is beautiful, especially the sunrise. Kayaking the lake is fun and a smooth ride. Plenty of fish hopping from the reeds near the shore to the stumps out in the middle. Even if the water sports aren't your favorite, there is plenty to do with the covered pavilion. Last but not least, Gene and his family are the best. They're kind and wonderful to be around but will give you your space to enjoy nature. Could not recommend more.

This was an amazing experience! We loved getting away from the city and enjoyed the quiet downtime.
The cabin was so well kept and clean. I liked that the main room was on the other end of the cabin so it felt more private. Sunsets and sunrises were beautiful with the large windows from all rooms.
We cooked in the cabin and all necessary dishes and utensils were available. It was cold so we didn’t get in the water but we are looking forward to returning during warmer weather to do so.

The cabin was very secluded, peaceful, and easily slept 6 people. There was plenty to do while we were there: ping pong, basketball, kayaking(our favorite), etc. We had plenty to do, even on the day it poured. The TV allows you to sign in to any streaming service so we watched some bowl games as well. The view from the bedrooms and living room was SPECTACULAR! The owner was lovely and offered us an extra night when he realized how much rain we were getting. He was very helpful. My family and I can’t wait to go back.

My friends and I (3 couples, 7 kids total) rented all three cabins for a weekend getaway. We found it quiet and peaceful; with exquisite lake views. There are lots of activities or gathering spots for kids and adults. We had riotous indoor games, went kayaking on the lake, played kids vs parents pickleball and the little ones had a lot of joyful squeals finding roly-polys in the sandbox. Everyone went at his/her preferred speed making it the most adaptable spot we've ever been. Besides having the place to ourselves, the host, Gene amplified our enjoyment by being friendly, responsive, and exceedingly generous. You can tell he and his wife created the spot for their family. We highly recommend this spot and will certainly come back ourselves.

We wanted to have a nice fishing weekend on the lake and this place was perfect for it. The views were great throughout the day. The hosts were great and very friendly. The cabin was more than enough for our needs. All of us slept comfortably. We are definitely going to be coming back in the future!

We recently stayed at Stewart Cove and had an absolutely fantastic time! Gene, our host, was awesome—welcoming and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The place was immaculate and cool, providing a comfortable retreat from the summer heat.
There was no shortage of activities for all ages, making it an ideal spot for our family. Our 4-year-old spent hours playing in the sand pit, while the older kids enjoyed basketball, paddle boats, and various other outdoor activities. The waterslide was the highlight of their stay—they couldn't get enough and played on it all day long!
The sunrise views from the deck were breathtaking, offering the perfect start to each day. We are already looking forward to coming back next year. Stewart Cove has become our go-to destination for family fun and relaxation.

The cabin was wonderful! We stayed in cabin 2, me and my cousin, and it was all clean and homie. Many things to do and such a pretty area with creeks to explore! Water was great, we had so much fun on the slide and used the kayaks everyday! The grill works well for burgers, and the beds were nice. Everything was just great! We had a great time, and the host helped make it more wonderful! Very attentive and nice!
Me and my cousin have never been on a trip on our own, but hers we felt plenty safe !

This trip was unexpected and unplanned. When Beryl caused a power outage, we needed to find suitable accommodation for our small family. The cabin we found ended up being a perfect fit for our needs. We felt comfortable and at ease, especially with our teenager enjoying the outdoor activities and high-speed internet. The host was welcoming and hospitable, making our experience all the more enjoyable during a challenging time. Overall, this cabin provided a great vacation spot for us amidst unexpected circumstances.

AWESOME. The kayaks and water slide were a huge with our 5 boys. Never a dull moment and they couldn’t get enough of swimming in the lake. A major selling point for us was having plenty of kayaks close by and ready for us to use at a moments’ notice. The cabin was clean and of course the kids all thought it was the coolest place. Environment was quiet, clean and ready to take us on. Pier and banks were great for fishing. Great view of the lake from both bedroom and loft for waking up to and also living room for eating and relaxing.
The hosts were super accommodating for when we needed anything and were able to answer any questions promptly. We all felt very safe and well taken care of. This place is perfect for family vacations or couple’s retreat! Can’t wait to go back as soon as we can!
