We built this cabin in spring/summer 2021 and we would love to share it with you! This parcel lies on the periphery of a small mountain with nothing but forest between the land and the peak. The cabin is fully insulated and can be heated by the tiny wood stove or propane heater. Gas and charcoal grills can be utilized for cooking or boiling water. The 8'x12' structure sits atop 6 pillars next to an elevated deck that allow for private access facing nature. We camped out in our tent next to the fire during the build. This is our sanctuary away from the city and periodically stay here ourselves to hit the slopes in the winter or to go kayaking in the summer. We hope you can join us in enjoying it! Learn more about this land: A short walk up the dirt road lies the cabin in the woods conveniently located between Mt. Snow and Stratton. Inside you will find a full size bed and mini wood stove to heat the 8x12' cozy cabin. Bring your tent and sleep next to the fire pit with wood cut and dried. The sloped land is surrounded by the Green Mountain forest. Your private hiking trail of untouched woods awaits exploration. This can be utilized in the winter as a spitboarding trail for those looking for first-tracks after a dumping. Kayaks on-site available for use at nearby Grout Pond (requires a vehicle with tie-down straps to transport). Land is raw and uneven, and you'll be surrounded by trees and wildlife. Approximately a mile from the West Wardsboro General store for food and provisions. Cabin games such as chess and checkers available for use along with extra blankets found under the bed. No running water or electricity, but we stock the jugs with drinking water inside and out. Cell signal exists, but fairly weak.. When nature calls, enjoy the private outhouse. Let the sounds of the mountain stream drain all your worries and concerns away as your relaxation washes over you!

Quick weekend escape

We had a wonderful time at the cabin! It’s perfectly located near Stratton, but is off the beaten path making it a peaceful retreat. The cabin itself is lovely and the wood stove keeps it nice and cozy. The hosts had plenty of wood, kindling and little necessities that were very much appreciated. We will absolutely be back.

Dan's cabin is an incredible and unique experience. Be sure to read the description so you can be prepared as it is an off the grid experience for sure. It's a very liberating experience to be immersed in the tranquil woods with the little cabin. I will absolutely be coming back!
