I moved a historic home to this property in 2005 and then realized that I missed the interaction with humanity, so I began hosting art events and bringing people onto the property to share my time and interests with. Hipcamp is just one more avenue that I will utilize to meet new people from around the area and around the world!

We had a lovely time, it was peaceful and beautiful and calming, my grandsons enjoyed the back field and the openness! And our fire was amazing!

Tent camping with other amenities
About 5 acres of well maintained land with many things to do. Nice fire pit. I recommend you pay the $10 for firewood. Bed in the tent was comfortable and a fan and electricity was provided. Kelli was a very gracious host and very helpful. Lots of other nearby things to do. Was a great balance of tent camping with some other amenities. I would definitely recommend this experience to others.

This was a perfect getaway. We could have not asked for anything more. The place was wonderful the night sounds, the fire, the hot water and water pressure, the warmth. I could go on and on.

Southern Hospitality and S’mores!
Absolutely the most relaxing time here! The cabin itself is the perfect blend of rustic charm with enough creature comforts to keep things cozy. Spent the days hiking and exploring the backroads, and stargazed by the firepit at night. As much as I love getting away from the city and unplugging, I have to admit I was thrilled about the Bluetooth speaker setup as well…No TV is a welcome relief, but who doesn’t like listening to Creedence while watching the sun set behind the pines? On top of all that, Kelli was excellent at communication, offering additional amenities with a genuine air of wanting to ensure this was the best stay possible. Being the type of guy who packs his own flatware and coffee press jusssst in case, i was relieved to see the array of kitchen doodads available had something slipped my mind…it really is the little things like that that make all the difference. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing family vacation, a romantic stay for two, or even a charming home base for Ren Faire season, this is absolutely the spot. Can’t wait to go back!

You are in for a treat!
Absolutely amazing! We were looking for a place our special needs son could wander around and enjoy the outdoors. From the moment we arrived and was greeted by Dano, we felt like we were visiting family. Kelli and Dano were very attentive hosts and made sure we were absolutely comfortable. Property is very well maintained with plenty of things to keep you entertained should being at one with nature is not your thing. Tent was very nice, decorated to make one feel like they were visiting family. There was no shortage of comfort or hospitality during our stay and we look forward to booking again very soon. Thank you Kelli and Dano for everything.

Kelli was helpful and gave us directions on how to get in and where she recommended us to pitch our tent. I will admit it was much less private than we expected or wanted, right next to the hosts home and with no bathrooms available, as a female i was uncomfortable squatting in the woods but you do what you gotta do. The host invited me inside to use the restroom which made me uncomfortable, but he apologized for it later.... There were some geese and ducks that kept coming to our site, one goose was getting too close for my comfort but luckily after a couple hours the host put them in a fenced area. The hosts did come out to our site (about 20 steps from their front door) several times and that was a little awkward, but they were nice so I don’t want to complain about that too much. There was no trash can available as stated in the listing, although we were happy to see there was a burn pile for our fire, but the logs wouldn’t really burn as they were huuuuge and I could not have carried one on my own. There were other camping sites available and I think we just got the one that was less private. Unfortunately I would not recommend this site for $50 per night. But we did have a nice time and are grateful for the area being close to home.

The Art & Heart is a unique and peaceful stay out in the country. If you love art and are looking for a place to relax for a few days, this is the perfect place to pitch a tent and kick back. Located within 15 minutes from the annual Texas Renaissance Festival and a winery. There are several geese and ducks on the property to keep you company.
