Welcome to Valhalla Farms, where the legends of the North meet the heart of Lobelville, Tennessee. In our version of paradise, the "warriors" are fainting goats providing endless entertainment with their dramatic antics, and the "Valkyries" are our flock of ducks and chickens. Our family-owned farm spans 93 acres of lush hardwood canopies, rolling elevation, and natural wet-weather springs. It is the ultimate, primitive basecamp for hunters, anglers, and hikers seeking a secluded atmosphere. You’ll notice our "Great Hall"—our home—is currently under construction. We are building Valhalla with our own hands; while the saws may be quiet during your stay, the energy of creation is everywhere. We’ve blended this rustic journey with modern convenience, offering a charging station for your electronics so you can stay powered up while staying unplugged. While you're here, sharpen your skills at our axe-throwing lane or wander through the homestead garden to see what’s in season. Relax by the pond with catch and release fishing. As the sun sets, enjoy the night chorus and fall asleep to the sounds of the Tennessee woods. Things to do in the area: Kayak the crystal-clear Buffalo River, the biodiversity-rich Duck River, or the serene Piney River. Boat and fish the Tennessee River at the nearby Crooked Creek Marina. Trek the ridges of Mousetail Landing State Park, explore the vast Natchez Trace, or access the Buffalo Ridge Refuge for prime deer and turkey territory. Take a short drive to Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills or visit Grinder’s Switch in Centerville for the winery and musical heritage. When hunger hits, visit Cane Creek Market for Amish goods or the charming Commodore Hotel and Café in Linden. Designed for the modern adventurer, Viking’s Rest offers a rugged, yet intentional camping experience. The site features a level, hand-cleared foundation of native creek rock and earth, providing a 'rock-solid' base for multiple tents. Nestled directly alongside a seasonal wet-weather spring, the site offers a peaceful, changing landscape that comes alive during the rainy months. At the heart of the camp stands a custom rock fireplace built for authentic open-fire cooking and nighttime storytelling. Whether you're hanging your hammocks in the shaded grove or listening to the steady flow of the seasonal wet-weather spring, this site offers the peace and privacy of a true warrior’s retreat. The site has a comfort station that serves as a changing room, shower, and a bedside commode with bucket. We supply non-potable water, a shower solar bag, garbage bags, hand sanitizer and a trash can, but you must pack out all trash and waste. There is also a communal area with firepit, wood is provided. A charging station, coffee pot, griddle and picnic table as well as an Axe throwing target. We also sell supplies and products from our farm at our gift shop. We offer access to the garden and meeting the farm animals with appointment. We are 15 minutes from the Buffalo river, for kayaking and tubing experiences. Also 25 minute drive to Loretta Lynns Ranch. Access to 54 areas for hiking, foraging and exploring. We also have a small pond that is stocked with Sunfish, fishing is allowed, catch and release.
