For those who want to “rough it” with mountain views and nature.
4-wheel-drive vehicles and motorcycles are welcome!
This site is secluded on a cleared house pad designed for tents, a space for up to three small tents (bring your own). We provide a “toilet room” equipped with a solar fan, solar lights, and hospitality items, including toilet paper, paper towels, a trash can, potty gel (with instructions posted inside), and hand sanitizer. Also we provide a picnic table and fire pit with fire wood and cast iron pans to cook.
You receive a gift bag to take with you!
Enjoy meals at the picnic table beside the fire pit, overlooking the Newmans Ridge!
Occasionally, you may hear the neighbor’s donkey, goats, or other farm animals nearby. Please respect the clearly marked “No Trespassing” areas.
Relax around the fire pit, or take a short trip into our quaint little town; just a 20-minute drive over the mountains for shopping or a cozy coffee stop at the Lovely Iris Café. As of September the new restaurant in town on Main Street has breakfast, lunch and dinner! Nearby, you’ll also find Elrod Falls, a perfect spot to picnic or take a refreshing swim.
At your campsite, a small trail leads down to a seasonal creek when water is flowing.
⚠️ Important Notes:
Beware of wild animals.
Hunting is strictly prohibited.
Please pick up after yourself and use the trash receptacles provided.
All food items must be secured to avoid attracting animals.
Camping is at your own risk.
🚗 Access & Safety:
Two neighbors share the same driveway so please drive slowly.
Be cautious of poison ivy, poison oak, and Virginia creeper vines (examples shown in photos).
If you run out of toilet paper, paper towels, or potty gel for the toilet, please stop by the next driveway up and speak to Kathie.Tenting Lane is 1 acre of wooded area for TENTING ONLY, no campers or pull-Along's. It is really quiet; however, you might hear a goat bey from the neighbor's place, or coyotes howl at dusk. Tons of birds, and other critters around at night to hear. You might even see some deer or turkey, and even a herd of wild pigs passing along. Area can accommodate one vehicle and 3 small tents comfortably. Must have all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive ( motor cycles are allowed) to access up the mountain rocky driveway to camp. There is a "Toilet Room" shack with a potable toilet, and bags with gel packs to put in it and then dispose of the bag into the trash. Must bring your own water. There is a fire ring, toilet paper, paper towels, cast iron pans, hand sanitizer for your use. Up in the woods following the fence line you will come to a shallow stream if it has rained a lot, just watch out for wild animals! No hunting permitted and put out your fire before leaving the campsite. It's a 20-minute drive into our quaint small town of Sneedville with a lot of history, over the mountain roads. You can enjoy coffee and a Danish at Lovely Iris or go to the library and read a book (there you can access Wi-Fi.) Dogs must be on a leash at all times. All food items must be secured from wild animal's reach. Please note there are neighbors using the same driveway, please go slow. Be aware of Poison Ivy, Poison Oak and Virginia Creeper vines that will harm your skin!
