The site itself was easy to get to, instructions were very clear. John was generous enough to leave tongs, a spatula, an axe, and a fire starter for our use. I had an amazing time staying here!

Our night at John's land was great! The perfect spot for a weekend trip. Directions were clear, camper was adorable, and the host provided many useful items. Wonderful campsite, will definitely come again!

We loved the seclusion of the campsite. The star gazing was amazing! The directions to the camp and how to use everything were clear. We also enjoyed the fire circle a lot as well.

Quiet, private spot to unwind, within a short drive of lakeside hiking trails. The meadow lit up with floating lightening bugs at night, and we were greeted by a turkey and her 4 tiny chicks in the morning.

John's property was exactly what I was expecting based on his description and photos. His directions to the property were clear and easy to follow, and he was prompt in responding to any questions. There was wood available for the fire pit, a compost toilet that was not only clean, but had very clear directions and everything needed to keep the cleanliness during a stay. The sky was beautiful all through the day, but the sunset and stars were our favorite view. We were able to pull right up to our site, making set up and tear down quick and convenient. We can't wait to go back. The camper site that is on the property was relatively close, but we were the only people out there this trip, so the privacy and quiet was incredibly relaxing and conducive to getting the time away to disconnect that we needed.

Loved this site and WILL be coming back again. Upper campsite is out of site from the other two sites, which is nice. All sites have a great open field to enjoy star gazing and other activities (tossing pigskin, Frisbee or space for the dogs to run around) john respons quickly and had excellent instructions for finding the site without issues.

Shasta Susie is a gem - a perfectly outfitted camper on quiet and secluded piece of property. You will love the little details along with the open sky, the stars and the sounds of nature. I can’t recommend this little place highly enough!

John was so helpful and accommodating!! There are cooking pots and pans to use, hand sanitizer, bug spray, etc. If you’re staying at the upper campsite, I definitely recommend bringing mid-sized suv, truck, etc. My friends hatchback couldn’t make it all the way up, kept slipping a lot. Overall, really great stay and we absolutely plan to come back!

Good space! Clean and private with lockable entrance gate. The lower spot was easy to access without 4W and the area was clean. The firewood provided at the lower site was a bit damp (no cover over the pile and it had recently rained) but up the hill at the upper spot had covered firewood and I was able to borrow a few dry logs! Would definitely come back.

This spot is amazing! We live in Knoxville so it was so nice to find a quiet place to camp only 45 minutes from town. You cannot hear any road noise at all and no light pollution either. A perfect secluded camp spot with a great fire pit, and compost toilet. It has everything we needed and wanted. The host gives excellent directions and we had no problem finding it.

Very private camping in a vintage camper! This beautifully restored Shasta is in a private gated lot with a large field for kids or dogs to run. The camper has a small kitchen, dining, and sleeping area. The outhouse is conveniently located close by (but not too close!). There is also a nice area to sit and relax by the fire with the provided camp chairs.

The campsite was great and very private with beautiful night sky views! There is a little poison ivy around the site and a lot at the gate entrance. Our Honda Fit did fine off-road/ getting to the site. The host’s description and direction were perfect!

Great place to get away! Nice sites. Grass is a little long, but as expected since it’s in a secluded location. Site was pretty clean when we got there! We took in a Mazda 3 hatchback. 10/10 would recommend something with clearance. Grass and grave hits the bottom of the car the whole way up.(yes there’s a gravel path up to the site). Great place to stay! Would stay there again

This was my first Hipcamp experience and my family and I had a great time. We stayed at campsite #1 and even though you are in someone’s “backyard” this campsite felt like you were miles down a trail in the back country. This fire pit area was very well set up and the amount (lack) of trash was a welcomed site versus many public campsites. I picked up one glass Pepsi bottle and a few bottle caps and that was it. I have already started planning a return trip with more people as the layout of the campsite can accommodate a solo backpacking tent or a field full of 10 person tents and anything in between. Directions were straight forward and easy to find. Definitely recommend.

John’s place was really easy to get to. The camping spot in the woods was absolutely perfect to stay cool and have a great time! The grass in the field was EXTREMELY HIGH. So high our dogs and kids got lost in it. John said it was somewhat high but I was not expecting it to be up to my waist. For the price we paid, I would have expected the grass to be at least cut in certain areas. Besides the grass, it was an awesome spot! Also not that close to the water but can easily find it!

Great spot and John wad great! He gave awesome directions which really helped for getting there in the dark. It was a bit of a struggle getting up the hill in my Prius but I managed!

John was a wonderful host. Very helpful with my questions and making sure I knew how to get there. I stayed overnight with my leashed dog and enjoyed the open field//seclusion. My favorite part was star gazing before sleep. Ground is perfect for pitching a tent. I did not utilise the fire circle, but it looked great! I would definitely recommend this site and visit again in the future.

This place was such a perfect place to camp out and super big. The fire area was so nice and equipped. John was so kind and helpful with directions and suggestions. The roads to get to this place were so nice and peaceful. I would recommend coming in a truck, but my small sedan still made it up the hill. I would definitely come back to camp out again.
