Welcome to Salty Pines, a peaceful 14-acre getaway tucked between the Ocoee and Hiwassee Rivers in the quiet mountains of Turtletown, Tennessee. Nestled on the edge of a 450-acre working farm, Salty Pines sits where the wild things are — open skies, clean air, and the kind of quiet you can actually feel. What began as a simple dream between three best friends has grown into a hand-built retreat for campers seeking space, privacy, and a true connection to the outdoors. We’re three longtime friends from different islands who bought this land to create a place where people can unplug, breathe, and return to simple living. Every campsite, trail, and fire pit on this property was built by us—no contractors, no big companies; just hard work, good music, and a love for the outdoors. In town for a white water rafting trip? Stay with us and receive a discounted trip at one of the largest and most established outfitters on the Ocoee River! Message us after you book your stay, and we will get you hooked up! The Thirsty Turtle Beer Garden is just 5 minutes away, is our go-to spot for cold beer and a solid bite after a day on the river. About 10 minutes out you’ll find Tammy’s for ice cream (trust us, you’ll want it), and Kick Start for ice, fuel, and any supplies you forgot to pack. Hiwassee Hideaway – Private Off-Grid Glamping near the Hiwassee River

My crew had a great evening at Salty Pines. Got up early the next day to go whitewater rafting (camp is 20 min. from the Ocoee). Next visit I plan to stay for the whole weekend! Exceptional amenities for being so far out in the woods.

Hidden Holler- Secluded off Grid Glamping At the doorstep of Cherokee National Forest

I had such a wonderful stay at Salty Pines! From the moment we arrived, they made us feel so welcome. They helped carry our things from the car. Tiki gave us a fun ride on the 4x4, and even took the time to play with my son, which meant so much to him. The yurt was adorable, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The bed gave me the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had while sleeping "outside". My son absolutely loved playing with the hammock, and we both enjoyed spending time around the fire pit. I really like the picnic bar table. It was such a nice touch and made meals outside even more enjoyable. You can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into creating this place. We made some wonderful memories here, and I'll definitely be back soon!

This place is awesome. It's situated in thick forest with lots of greenery. The yurt I slept in was super nice and the campground comes with a shower, bathhouse, and WiFi. Perfect for an inexpensive but quality getaway from Chattanooga or other places

A great place to relax/enjoy nature

Hidden Holler- Secluded off Grid Glamping At the doorstep of Cherokee National Forest

Tighe was a great host, the yurt was nice and honey and the bed was great. I went and hiked to a waterfall and slipped and fell hard and when I got back Tighe got me a camping chair to sit in, a first aid kit, and dry socks. I'll definitely return. They're building something special there and it's a beautiful place. Take the back roads and drive through the Cherokee National Forest, it's great!

Great weekend getaway!

Hiwassee Hideaway – Private Off-Grid Glamping near the Hiwassee River

Wow! This was the best trip I’ve had (and I don’t even like camping 😳) The hosts Tighe and Taylor felt like second family and showed us all the best spots around Turtletown. We went to a beautiful waterfall hike and even got to meet their dog Gator! 🥰 I can’t wait for my next trip!!

I had the best girls weekend at Salty Pines! The property is perfectly secluded but still not far from some fun local spots and hiking trails! The yurt was so spacious and clean. The bed was so nice and comfy. We had such a wonderful time and would highly highly recommend!!

My absolute go to campsite! Turtletown is an undiscovered gem. So many beautiful trails and water falls, not to mention the fun local spots in town and the neighboring mccaysville! I’ve had repeat stays and this place only gets better each time. I love the couple running it, you can tell they care about the land, the nature and the community ties.

Awesome location.! You’re close to both the Ocoee and Hiwassee, so it’s perfect if you want to float, fish, or just explore. We spent the day on the river and came back to a quiet campsite with a fire going — can’t beat that. Great mix of adventure and relaxation. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the property! We are already planning a trip back in the spring!
