Lisa’s Sacred Dog Ranch is a veritable Garden of Eden. Lisa and her family welcomed us with open arms to their beautiful home and gardens. They have stewarded the land with care and intention, cultivating a series of wonderful spaces complete with art, animals, and authenticity.

Lisa & Gary welcome you to their land with open arms! Greeted by a bunch of lovely wonderful dogs. One dog will deff stick out more to you with love (Payaso) they are very accommodating and will do whatever they can to make sure your stay is comforting. Will deff be coming back out here for the horse back riding!

An Art Lovers Haven

This was such a great experience and I will definitely be back next time I am in the area! Lisa was so welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed. I made friends with all the dogs and even got a little cat drool in my lap. The cabin itself was a work of art, literally, and I was spoiled for a place to sleep. If youre into art, this place is a haven. My only regret is that I had to wake up and leave early to beat the rain.

We enjoyed camping on Lisa’s land and receiving a tour of the property! Lisa and Gary are welcoming, hospitable and generous. They provided a clean compostable toilet, potable water from a hose and an electrical outlet by our site. It was a quiet healing setting.

Great for a getaway!

Lisa is super friendly and willing to go out of her way to accommodate you if possible. The cabin my friend and I stayed in was one room with a screened in front porch, it had a bunk bed with full or queen bed on the bottom. There was a mini fridge. No running water but she brought us a gallon of water and a couple cups. There is an outhouse nearby that seemed pretty clean, no smell! She’s working on improving the WiFi signal there. I used my own data. Was able to park right in front of the cabin. Lots of friendly dogs here. Recommend!

This is our 2nd time to Sacred Dog Ranch. It's a beautiful space for tent camping or RV. If you have kids that enjoy animals they will love it, and the creek at the back of the property. The only caveat is you need to like dogs there are 7 or more and they roam around but for the most part leave you alone.

The only way to describe this really is that you are literally home when you are here. Rejuvenate and enjoy the magic that is Lisa and the sacred dog ranch. It's not just a place to stay while you're on your trip, this is a destination 💜

WILL BE REVISITING! The hosts are lovely, friendly, interesting people who will treat you like you’re a close friend. I brought my dog with me and she had a great time playing with their 8 dogs on the property, and the screened in porch is a game changer! There are a couple fun farm animals around. The cabin is perfect for a camping/shelter feel, a bed in a comfy decorated studio with windows. nothing too fancy just how we like it! Some of the cabins are still a work in progress so I’m very excited to visit Lisa and Gary in the future :) thankful to have found this and them!

Great Montgomery Bell Alternate!!

Since Montgomery Bell State park will be closed for a while, we looked at alternate locations and found this one. This very spacious property with 30-amp hookup for our travel trailer was perfect. Lisa was very gracious and hospitable and her property had beautifully eclectic charm. Lots of sweet dogs roaming the property along with other points of interest Lisa will be happy to show you around. Would stay here even when M. Bell park opens back up!

We had such a good time at the Sacred Dog Ranch. The boys didn't want to leave and the oldest insisted he was not leaving. The owners were very friendly and accommodating! We would love to visit again!

Amazing and peaceful stay!

My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay at Sacred Dog Ranch. We had the best time! We stayed in one of the clamping cabins. It was very warm and clean. Decorated so cute as well! Lisa and Gary were amazing and some of the nicest people we have met. Lisa toured us around the beautiful property. Her and her husband have put so much hard work into making the property so beautiful and holistic. I highly recommend staying here! You will feel at peace here.

A Healing and Transformative

A great experience and escape from busy Nashville city life! I chose a cabin in close proximity to the main house though enough distance that felt private and quiet. Lisa and Gary were gracious hosts. I learned a lot from Lisa as she walked me around the ranch to meet the horses and tell the story how the property had been developed and worked into a magical get-away that is great for solitude camping or gatherings. Also, a great place for creatives to find inspiration and ignite a person's (or collaborators) imagination and visions! Sacred Dog Ranch is a mystical get away and perfect for meditation and alignment of mind, body and soul.

Wonderful Farm Stay

Sarah and her husband were extremely kind and hospitable. The air stream was perfect for a night with the dogs. It was still fairly warm to sleep (end of July) even with the AC they set up, but once it cooled off, it was great. The outhouse was clean and not stinky, although the rose bushes needed to be cut a bit because they would catch my feet on the way out. The land was awesome to explore and the 6(?) dogs there were friendly with my larger dogs. All the other animals were so cool to see too! We had such a wonderful time and would absolutely come back again next time we travel through Tennessee :)

If you’ve ever wanted to have a truly magical, full of wonder (AND wander), fully blissful camping experience, this is it. Lisa and Gary are two truly wonderful humans that I am glad to now know. They were perfect hosts…welcoming, kind, and are both bright spirits. The vision of Sacred Dog Ranch is something to experience. Animals abound, and our dogs were welcomed into the pack, running free and having a ball. Sunsets are breathtaking, with lightning bugs as an accent, and we will definitely be back here. It’s 30 mins to downtown Nashville (we were in town for a show at The Ryman) and it’s a perfect place to call home on the road. Sacred Dog Ranch is worth a visit…I can’t wait to go back soon!

A MUST site to see

TLDR version: Long time campers, didn't expect to find this hidden gem. We enjoyed all the murals, decorations (it's Thailand in TN... It's Tenneshailand), hikes to water, bonfire, music and animals (like horses, goats, donkey, fox, baby cow, dogs, etc). My dog felt at home here and loved playing freely with the other loving dogs. ...but the hosts, Lisa and Gary...made us all feel incredibly welcomed by opening up this amazing home, sharing the vision for the place, and just being all around good people. What's the long review? Everything above times 3. Don't skip this place. We will definitely be back, and bring others to the magic Tenneshiland (can't stop saying it🤣🤣🤣)

We had an amazing stay at Lisa and Gary’s ranch! They were incredibly compassionate and kind hosts, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The ranch itself is a haven, full of beautiful nature and a variety of animals. We loved interacting with the animals and playing in the creek. Lisa and Gary are also very creative people, which added a unique touch to our experience. It was a truly healing and memorable stay, and we can’t wait to come back!

Magical Experience

What an exceptionally magical slice of land. We are grateful to our hosts for being so welcoming. It was a perfect 3 night stop for us and our two young kids. The electric hookup for our Airstream, spring water, access to the creek, horseback riding, interaction with all of the animals and general sense of peace make this one of the best Hipcamp experiences we've ever had! If you're considering this for your next stop, just go for it. We hope to return one day, for sure.

My kids and I stayed in the glamping cabin, it was comfortable and had everything we needed. We really enjoyed interacting with all of the animals on the ranch. The owners are super nice people and we enjoyed talking to them about their life and experiences. Highly recommend!

What an AMAZING place to stay!!! Lisa and Gary are phenomenal hosts. They were helpful while setting up and with recommendations of local places to go, as well as just all around kind people. The animals and property are a huge added bonus. We can't wait to come back.
