Quarter Spring Farm is located in Liberty, TN on the western edge of the Cumberland Plateau. It comprises 63 acres of wooded ridges and hollows with exceptional hiking and distinct landscape features. Smith Fork Creek, which feeds Center Hill Lake, is visible from the campsite. Quarter Spring Farm’s history is murky and still being discovered. The house is over 100 years old. There are stone property walls that may predate the civil war. We believe this site was a Mississippian period settlement because of the large amount of artifacts we have found.
Please note: there is no electricity at the dome. There will be a battery with a light and the option to charge your phone. There is no parking at the dome. The walk is uphill and takes about 5 minutes or so. This is still a tent, the dome is not insulated and is not 100% sealed. Bugs do get inside from time to time. I will also provide you with water for cleaning and at least a gallon to drink. Just let me know if you need more. If you can get here before it gets dark, that is the best. If you can’t, that’s ok, we’ll just be hiking in the dark. Luckily I know my way around pretty good.Rest easy on our beautiful knoll with a pastoral view. We have constructed a geodesic dome on the edge of our working farm. The hike to it is short and moderate, and the view of the Tennessee hills is spectacular. Parking is available near our farmhouse, which is about a five minute hike from the dome. We will be happy to load your gear on our UTV to make set up a little easier for you if we are available to do so. There are plenty of outdoor activities including biking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. Center Hill lake is about a ten minute drive. There are numerous state parks within 50 miles, including Fall Creek Falls, Virgin Falls, Burgess Falls, and many more. We have a few hiking trails on our own property as well. You can hike out with the goats in the morning, or spend your afternoon watching the sheep grazing on our pasture. This really is a beautiful and peaceful environment, a perfect relaxing getaway from the hectic pace of modern life.
