Peaceful Hills Retreat 390 American Way Centerville, TN 37033 (Pleasantville) Looking for the perfect getaway, you will find some peace and quiet here! Only 14.6 miles from I-40 and located on 97 acres, this campground is surrounded by nature, very secluded and private. There is a crystal-clear creek that runs parallel with the driveway and fresh spring water flowing from pipe in the rock close to the entrance on American Way. The creek is bio-diverse, filled with fascinating species, and spring fed, which means it stays cool in the summertime. There are three beautiful homes which are able to be rented out as well as a fourth home that is for the property managers. The A-frame log cabin at the top of the hill is called the Lodge. The second home, which is a two-story brown log Cabin, offers individual bedrooms. The third home is the Cottage. This is a special place and we are happy and honored to share it with you! Peaceful Hills Retreat, a family owned business, started in May of 2017. It all began when Jennifer’s brilliant brother booked a two-story home through Airbnb for Jennifer and the family for a week in the Carolinas. Their Airbnb vacation was a great experience, and she loved having a kitchen to cook in, while traveling with her large family. She gladly said goodbye to tiny hotel rooms. Linda and her daughter, Jennifer realized they desired to run a BnB, and watched the scattered pieces beautifully fall into place. Peaceful Hills Retreat is also a wedding venue. There are three beautiful spots for a lovely outdoor wedding. The waterfall site is a favorite. The lodge is a beautiful place for the reception to take place outdoors At each home you may read a special book called A Soldier’s Child Foundation (ASC). This life-changing, wonderful foundation near Nashville, serves children all over our great nation who have sadly lost a parent who served in our military. #10 Bunny Burrow, a closed in and secluded campsite, is one of our favorites because you are surrounded by nature, including the amazing fireflies that are out right now as I'm typing this in the warm month of June. They twinkled all around my son and I, while off in the distance we heard what we guessed was a deer walking past. The road is great for an adventurous hike! The campground is a very peaceful place. We tried to listen for cars off in the distance, but it was pretty unsuccessful. The sounds we heard were the breeze in the trees, the crickets, and an occasional bird. The spot is perfect for a mini camper. The trees are great for hammocks and there is ample room for tent camping. The place is remote, peaceful, and so beautiful. What makes this spot so great is not only the location, but the way the campsite is laid out. It is surrounded by trees on all three sides. Peaceful Hills Retreat is the perfect spot to make some fantastic memories, so book this site today and get outdoors in that fresh air!! It's proven that oxygen is most plentiful when you are surrounded by trees. Plus, my son just spotted some kind of cat down by our creek that was tan with tufts of hair sticking up at it's ears. We are guessing it was a lynx, since the bobcat we have spotted has markings on it. There are also plenty of bunnies, three groundhogs that come out into the big field by the three homes and the squirrels will actually play with the bunnies. One bunny and a squirrel , who was carrying a nut, both ran under our shed while my son caught them playing on video. We love living out here and hope to share this amazing place with you! The journey to this oasis is absolutely worth it, especially when you find yourself immersed in nature’s embrace. My son and I even listened for signs of traffic and were thrilled to find none. Sharing this breathtaking piece of land with others feels like a privilege—its beauty is simply too magnificent not to enjoy with friends and family!

Pitch your tents at the lovely Sunny Shire campsite, a private site located away from all other campsites. The extra long driveway in this campsite can accommodate up to four vehicles. At the back of the campsite, you'll find a spacious area for two tents, featuring a large fire pit, a flat round tent site, and a picnic table. This location offers an excellent view of the stars. It’s also a great spot for dogs, thanks to the extra grassy yard beside the campsite. Feel free to bring a tent or a camper van to this remote and secluded area. Please note that this site is not your typical state park campsite, so you can expect some stones and bumps on the road. You will not have cell service at the campsite, but you can get a signal by hiking or driving to the top of the hill, which takes about three minutes. In the center of the site, there is a beautiful dogwood tree that blooms with lovely white flowers, making it a favorite of ours. Here's a little bit of history. This was the first site leveled using a brand-new D1 dozer, equipped with advanced features like a computer screen, backup camera, heated seats, and grade assist. I had the amazing opportunity to learn how to operate this equipment, and it was a truly rewarding experience. I never imagined I'd be driving a dozer, but it was essential for creating a comfortable campsite. I had a dream and with God's help it became a reality. This campsite is named after a local community hero! Here is the back story to the campsite's name: I had rented a bulldozer to put in some more sites for campers coming for an event. After driving this beautiful, brand-new D1 dozer for the first time and taking my sweet time pushing dirt around for almost a week, I realized I would not get my job done in time. It was Thursday, and I had a commitment on Friday, but the dozer rental was to be returned on Sunday. Shortly after I said a prayer asking for help, an EMT vehicle approached campsite #8, where I was working. I met this man, Pete Tibbs, and learned he was a fire chief, a restaurant owner, an emergency first responder, and a pastor. He saw the dozer and informed me that he fought wildfires for 12 years in 30 states and was 'itchin' to get back in one. He would even take off work tomorrow if he could drive it. Well, I knew it was an answer to my prayer. I went to teach the next day, and he came to finish my job. He didn't even count them, but we ended up with a perfect thirty campsites, and I later added one more down by the creek, making #31. It's not every day that a professional bulldozer operator shows up the day before you need him. God answers prayers, and this site honors the man who saved the day!

The creek was crystal clear, and the dogs loved exploring it with us. Nice land and host was super helpful. Easy to get too from Nashville. Campsite #2 was great and a bit isolated which was nice. Unfortunately if you take the ‘hiking trail’ you must be on the lookout for ticks. Grass is very long and after walking I found at least 10-12 ticks on my legs and they kept returning for the reminder of our stay. Because of this, was hard to focus on the good aspects but still a good campsite.

The waterfall site was amazing. It was super peaceful to fall asleep to all the different sounds of nature. It was easy to find, super flat ground so great for having a flat spot for tents. The creek across the road was a great way to just chill in some water for a while. My kids LOVED playing in the waterfall right by our camp. It was also a great spot for our dog lead so our dog could also enjoy his first camping trip. We cant wait to make another trip out!

#31 Creekside Campsite - Come Relax
The spot I chose was lovely. Great to fall asleep next to a babbling brook. There were fireflies out and a pair of owls calling during the night. Caught a few glimpses of the beaver! I peaked at the waterfall spot which looked really awesome and tucked away from the road. Cell service for me cut off after turning off the main road so make sure to take a screen shot of the directions (which are very detailed).

Except for roads and tent sites the woods are all natural be sure to have a compass if hiking or enjoying the woods variety of Wildlife and very peaceful

#31 Creekside Campsite - Come Relax
My friend and I are on year 5 of our accidental tradition of Spring camping trips and this was our FAVORITE camp spot we’ve found so far! We were at Creekside Campsite and it was the most peaceful, quiet, private site. On Friday when we arrived, we had a tricky time finding the site (if you can arrive in the daylight I’d recommend it) but the wonderful host, Jennifer, was quick to help us- she rode her golf cart all the way down from her house to help us out! She was such a lovely woman. In hindsight, we probably could have found the site, but it sure was helpful to have a warm welcome and some extra guidance from Jennifer!

It is truly peaceful, off the beaten path. I would recommend 2 things only A place to drop of trash, and the outhouse need so.e major attention!! Great weekend

#30 Moonlight Ridge
This is my 3rd time at Peaceful Hills and second time solo. I had a wonderful time as usual! The privacy of the campsite is awesome, especially as a beginner solo camper. I always feel super safe on the property and knowing that the host is just a call/text away if I need anything. Tried out the moonlit ridge site this time and it did not disappoint. I was able to see the stars and full moon with no issues which was really nice. I was also still able to get cell service on this site. There’s a portapotty close by for convenience and the picnic tables are always a huge plus. Can’t wait to explore more of the property and sites throughout the year!

Had a great stay at Peaceful Hills! Met Jennifer when I arrived and spent the afternoon enjoying the weather. Only wished I could have stayed longer. Stayed at the Creekside site, and will definitely be back to try some other sites.

#10 Bunny Burrow near a brown fence
We had such a quiet, enjoyable stay! Whippoorwills, turkeys and owls calling. Nice dark skies for star gazing in a beautiful hardwood forest. There weren't even mosquitoes to bother us. We had an idyllic evening there.

#1 Waterfall Site with Creek Access
I have stayed at Peaceful Hills multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed my stays! The waterfall site is not quite as secluded as others, but it is easy to access and still quite peaceful. The only downside is there is not a full sized picnic table, only a small bistro table with two chairs. This made it difficult to cook, eat, play games, etc. But overall we had a wonderful time!

I had the most incredible time at Peaceful Hills. I stayed at Moonlight Ridge #30. The host Jennifer was so quick to respond to any questions and so helpful! The sunset views from my site were so peaceful and beautiful. You could see all the colors in the sky. Huge area for multiple tents and cars. I will for sure come again.

I had a good time tent camping at the waterfall site. It's away from all other sites, has plenty of space to spread out, and has a porta-potty nearby. This is my second time staying at this site and still highly recommend it. The directions were extremely clear, and the eggs/firewood add-ons were perfect.

Peaceful hills retreat was truly a treat! The Waterfall site was nothing short of amazing and sooo peaceful. The creek running alongside the land was so serene and beautiful. My dad, brother, and I had a great time and Jennifer was an awesome host. Due to unforeseen circumstances she arrived a little behind with our firewood bundle, so to make up for it she went above and beyond to make sure we had a stable fire all night with plenty of dry wood! She didn’t leave until she knew we had it going, even providing kindling. Jennifer’s hospitality was the cherry on top of the cake! I 100% recommend camping and/or lodging at Peaceful Hills and we will absolutely be back soon!
