We showed up around 9pm expecting to be able to easily find our campsite. What we ended up showing up to was an extremely packed campground that didn't even have a campsite number that we were assigned on Hipcamp. We asked multiple people about the campground details but no one could help. We ended up calling the number on Hipcamp and instead of meeting us to help us find our spot, the owner made us try and find a campfire by the river and walk down there to have her assist us. When I finally found the fire the owner was not very friendly or helpful. Apparently they're not too familiar with how Hipcamp works and they didn't even have a spot for us. They ended up squeezing us in a spot next to the basketball court but it was for sure not what we paid for. We had two nights there and ended up leaving in the morning after the first. Very disappointed and I wouldn't recommend this place.

Good site on the Little River. Communication less than stellar. Onsite management not setup for Hipcamp. They requested we book directly thru them in the future.

The campsite wasn't on farmland the way it looked on the website. By the office sites were very crowded together. They just let us choose between sites that were left, rather than what we had signed up for. The first site offered was a concrete slab right next to the swings and playground. Our other options were across the river (away from bathrooms and amenities) and not mowed (very tall grass). We chose one across the river, which was nice for privacy, but hard to be away from the bathrooms. There was also a large piece of rusted metal left over our firepit we had to move. The campsite was not at all what was expected from the Hipcamp site. However the river is nice and the bathrooms were clean.

A very cute campground! Spots are nice. Bathrooms are BEAUTIFUL. They have cute farm animals you can walk by. A nice little creek you can wad in.

Janice was super nice. I liked it being directly on the river. There is also a grocery store and had station near by in case you forgot or need anything.

Cutest little campground! Loved our stay and the staff was beyond friendly. Bathrooms are very clean! Will definitely be back if we ever travel down south again :)

This was a perfect camping experience. We had a beautiful spot along the river. We were across from the main campground, but we actually preferred this. They even had a bathroom on our side that they allowed us access to. It was a wonderful experience and we definitely plan to return.

Very crowded campsite, full of kids and goose poop. They were able to situate us across from the crowded camp, but I think we got lucky. Site was loaded up with turds. Kids. So many loud kids. If you need a quick place to crash and have no options, do it, otherwise I wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful night in the Smokey Mountains

The little river was booked up and they still managed to find us a spot away from the crowd. Our kids enjoyed the river and the pool, and all the camp hosts were very friendly. We will definitely be back!

Super friendly staff! They even deliver wood to your site, and take you up river to drop in and float right back into the campground. Would definitely recommend!

Very friendly & helpful staff. Campsite & campground very clean. The only issue was the bathroom. I did go early so possible staff had not cleaned yet. A lot of water on the floor but other than that I would say 4 stars out of 5

I will say, the photos on HipCamp are a little misleading. "Tent Camping In A Sea Of RV's" would have been a more accurate description than "Tent Camping on the Little River". That being said, we stayed here on a very busy, Labor Day weekend and the staff was extremely helpful getting us settled even though we arrived after the office had closed. This would be a great option for campers who have children.

If you know what you are expecting, this place could be great. We were under the impression from the photos and the listing that we would have our own site for our tent and some relative privacy. It was Labor Day weekend and we booked pretty last minute, so we knew it would be busy. Our site had cars parked in it, so we barely had room for our tent. The park was packed with RVs and there was probably 5 to 10 feet between sites. If you have kids or are trying to have more of a social partying experience this campground has lots of activity and is close to the river for swimming. The man who greeted us when we arrived also could not have been nicer. It was a nice place, just not what we expected.

I would recommend this beautiful camping spot in Townsend. They have very nice bathrooms. The creek spots are the best. You can rent tubes and buy firewood in office. Only negative was that our spot for some reason had alot of poop, not sure what kind of animal but didnt seem to be anywhere else. I would stay here again but go through business instead of hipcamp there seemed to be some confusion on charges.

Overall, an excellent spot to camp! They will try to charge you twice (once through HipCamp and again when you get there). You're better off just going to their website, calling, and reserving the spot because it's about $15 cheaper anyway. The facilities were under construction, so bathroom space was limited BUT it looks like they'll have brand new ones next year.

Little River Tent Camping
The site the campground gives you as a hipcamper is gorgeous. It is by a little creek and a barn, and in the morning the sheepdogs are out in the pasture doing their work. There is a water pump by the site, but if you walk into the campground itself, you can take advantage of a full bathhouse.
Note - there is no dish sink, so you'll need to bring a wash bin. Also, e-mail the host when you book on hipcamp to ensure your reservation has been scheduled.

Prepare to be double charged I played $135 for 4 nights through hipcamp and when I arrived I was charged an extra $115 its a beautiful campground but be prepared to pay much more

Located near the "Y" and very accessible to tube rentals for floating the river. You can even BYOT (Bring Your Own Tube).

Nice campground. Unique. Has farm attached to campground and also sits in river. Not secluded primitive camping by any means but definitely worth the trip. Staff very helpful and friendly. Owners and host accommodating.
