Beautiful, well kept site
We had a wonderful overnight stay at Lionsgate campground in Lyles, Tennessee. It’s about an hour from Nashville.
You have to drive through a creek to get to the campsite, and as you exit, there is a big rock that is the size and shape of a curb, so make sure you go slower than I did.
The location is directly on the banks of a large creek, with a lot of wildflowers and small, beautiful waterfalls. The site has marble countertops and big fire pit. I purchased the firewood bundle and received an ample supply of.
It is a very pretty spot, however, it is next to a dirt road, and a lot of people seem to spend the Saturday just driving along the dirt road. Cars, trucks, and quite a few ATVs, so it was noisy. There was also an annoying dog who barked constantly from about 4 PM until about midnight. The dog was nearby and just didn’t stop. It was impossible to sleep through and there was no escaping the noise through a tent. Neither of these issues is the site host’s fault, but I’m just bringing awareness to future guests.
After the dog finally was quiet, I did hear a lot of owls, frogs, crickets. And I believe I had a deer come by my tent. Overall, a beautiful spot and I would recommend it, perfect for hammocks and tents.
