Back Pocket Group Site
Not happy, sorry.
The location of the place is ok, it is easy to find but the camping sites are full of garbage and other people's things. When we got to the Back Pocket Group Site there was a tent and a child's cart with a lot of rubbish, clothes and containers inside but around too and there were two other sites, as well as a lot of drink cans where we left the car and access to our site was not easy, it should be warned that a tall car is necessary to be able to cross the ditch. For the price we pay, $50 a night, having to clean our place is very expensive. It should be ensured that the area is clean before the campers arrive and we made the reservation 11 days before the arrival date.

Emma was accommodating to say the least. Due to scheduling on our part, we came in late and left early, but everything was as Emma had noted with the directions to the campsites clearly defined. Couldn't have been happier with the stay.

Did not end up staying, my Bf drove in before I got there and noticed that it looked like a lot of tenters live there full time and did not feel safe. Payment is way too high for what it offers.

Back Pocket Group Site
Beautiful spot for us to get away :) loved that the creek was near by and that there were plenty of spots to put up a hammock. The ditch that everyone talks about isn’t too bad. You just need higher clearance and patience. I wish the previous users of the spot cleaned up better. I tried my best to pack out their stuff as well but they left a whole air mattress. I couldn’t carry it :/
But other than that, it was a great time. Thank you Emma :)

Avoid at all costs
Sorry to say that I cannot recommend this site. Take my advice and avoid.
We arrived with several spots open which was great as this is a first come first served site. We called the host for clarity and she answered promptly and was helpful.
We noticed some of the spots looked to be occupied by what appeared to be residents including a vehicle that appeared to be on blocks. Not very appealing.
We parked up and my wife went to the porta loo. This was unusable. The bowl was full, we mean FULL of excrement.
We jumped in the car and left. End of story. I would recommend the host looks to improve the facilities before advertising this site.

We loved camping in this area, it was nice and lowkey, and overall relaxing. We stayed two nights and had a lot of fun! However, there was a lot of traffic coming in and out of the campsite throughout all hours of the 2nd night we stayed, making a lot of noise due to the gravel road.

Back Pocket Group Site
Hammock camping next to a creek.
The back pocket group site was a great spot for our base camp, 3 of us strung hammocks along the creek with room for at least twice that.
There are fish in the creek, small ones but they would keep kids busy for some time.
The downside is the dip in the road on the way in, seems like it would be easily fixed with a culvert and some gravel.
The porta-potty seemed like it had missed several cleanings/emptings, but it may have just been a heavy use week right before I got there. All I can say is, I was very glad not to have had to use it.
The sites were very nice sized and a few were even a bit away from each other in the main area. Most are right next to each other though, with no barrier in between. Great if you have several spots in a single group, not so great if you are looking for a more private camping experience.
All in all, it was a great place for our group and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to have a rustic camping trip, right outside the Scruffy City.

Great Stay!
Beautiful campsite, easy access and the host was responsive to questions and requests! We primitive camped near the creek, so we were able to cook off and relax on the hot days! Highly recommend this property, thank you Kat for being fabulous!

Quick, easy and peaceful.
I was driving north from the tail of the dragon and sun was going down within the hour. After sending request Kate responded immediately and arrival was seamless. Looks like there are two areas with group areas a little more secluded but also harder to get to. There’s a clean portapotty nearby. Street people mention is a local street and very few cars travel there, never became a problem. Good spot to catch some zzz’s, bird watch and catch the lightning bug show at sunset.

Back Pocket Group Site
Camping with a group
This site was nice and secluded perfect for our three families. The kids road bikes on the hills and the porta potty and water are in a perfect spot. Very clean too. We unfortunately picked a freak heat wave to stay so we didn't hike, but the spot was shady and kept our camp comfy in the heat. Four wheel drive definitely required to reach the site, but we just parked up by the bathrooms and walked in. Just pay attention along the road for poison ivy.

Very convenient to downtown and in a cool area. The group sites look great, but the individual sites are a bit cramped and close to the main road. Overall, worth the stay and. Happy we found this spot.
