Best in South Dakota: 1st place
Named one of the best Hipcamps to visit in 2024.
Awarded South Dakota's best Hip Camp to see in 2024, 2023, 2021, and runner up in 2022. Uncle B's farm is a small 11 acre hobby farm with a large vegetable garden, chickens, peafowl, guinea fowl, turkeys, a goat, dogs, and cats. There is an old quarried stone railroad bridge and a few short walking trails around the pond. The pond is at the back of the property where I have 6 dry camp sites listed as Uncle B's farm for tents or self contained RV's. All sites have partial to full shade and most have mature trees that will work for a hammock or tensile tent. All of the campsites have a firepit, some with cooking grates and all sites have a picnic table. The "shower shack" is shared by all guests and has 2 separate 3/4 baths with all modern plumbing. There is also a basic outdoor kitchen with a few portable grills as well as a sink with modern plumbing. Available at Uncle B's RV Camper site I have 3 RV sites with water and 30 Amp electrical hookups. My "Ready Set Camp" listing is a dome tent set up and furnished with 2 cots, table, and lamp as well as a match ready fire. The Barn loft apartment is a studio apartment with a small galley kitchen and private bath. Uncle B's farm has been voted Best Hip Camp to see in South Dakota for the 3rd time.... Come see why...

Ready Set Camp
Felt so lucky to get to spend a little time here while passing through, such a lovely space. Sites are nicely spaced, bathrooms are fantastic. I really appreciated all the little details. We will return again. :)

What a cool unique place to stay! We were headed across the country and just needed a place to rest our heads for one night, and this place did not disappoint. Gorgeous Midwest sunset and sunrise, fun animals, and a cute cozy loft. What more could you need!? And the host was super friendly and even gave us some veggies from his garden. We’ll hopefully be back soon!

This was a perfect stop for my husband and I on our way through South Dakota. Brian has a very nice set up and is extremely welcoming to his guests. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Great host
We spent an overnight and could not have asked for more. The host was great, the dogs were great, would highly recommend if you're traveling this area.

Thumbs up!
Our stay was very comfy on Brian’s land. We arrived around 8:30pm and were approached by Brian on his quad; he invited us to projector movie night and homemade popcorn. Although it sounded very enjoyable, we had to decline from being tired after a long day of travel. The hipcamp was fully stocked with coffee pods, tea, chips, candy, pasta, canned veggies and fruit, fresh produce, frozen pizza, pop in fridge, etc. Host asked for a couple bucks to be left if we used any food and we thought that that was more than reasonable. We slept very good in the bed, but it was very high off the ground due to being on top of repurposed dressers. Our room had everything we needed. The barn loft is above about at least 8 foster barn kittens who live on the lower level. The kittens were super adorable. Our one complaint would be the smell… it seems the kittens use the restroom wherever they please on the lower level. The barn loft had a slight constant cat urine odor during our stay. The odor wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t pleasant. We wish we could’ve stayed more than one night at Brian’s place. The atmosphere was very cool and price was not bad at all for what you get.
