The owner greeted us and gave us a s’mores pack which was really sweet. We came in kind of late and he was still there greeting us. The place was nice and clean. We will likely come back.

Uncle B's Farm
Me and my friends drove over 20 hours straight from Philadelphia, and showed up after 11 at night. He was very understanding, and still welcomed us kindly and showed us to our sight, even so late at night. He was very friendly, showing us around his property in the morning, and offering to take pictures for us. As for the camping experience. It was great! The land is very flat, and the sites have plenty of room. We easily set up two 4 person tents with comfortable room in between. The location is great, close enough to the highway and city to make them quick drives, but without any noise pollution. The campsite has good connection, and private showers and bathrooms. If i’m ever driving through SD again, i’ll make sure to set up camp here.

Brian was available right upon arrival. He showed us our campsite and informed us about all the amenities. The tour of the property was very fun, and it was nice to hear about how everything came together. I was only there one night, as a pit stop for my road trip, but the property is well-maintained and perfect for a multi-day stay!

This is our favorite place to stay. The Host is so amazing. He brings the kids toys, provides fresh eggs and fire wood. The location is also amazing. On low moon days the starts seam like they are popping from the sky and the farm animals are always a favorite with my kids! Make this a destination or ensure you stay if your passing through!

Uncle B’s is perhaps our favorite Hipcamp!
Brian is so thoughtful, and his farm has become a dear place for our family. We have visited several times in the past few years.
There are wonderful spots, farm fresh eggs and warm showers. It is a little out of the way, but we love that because we can see so many stars on a clear night. Brian is incredibly responsive. Don’t pass up this beautiful spot.

Fun farm vibe! Brian is good people, along with his outstanding camping facilities… Provides all the things that you would need to enjoy one night or a full weekend or even longer! Great walking paths, cool stories, and nice bathrooms make for a well maintained property and hip camp experience. Will definitely stay again! Thanks, Brian!

This place was great! Beautiful setting and the sites are well maintained, easy to find, and I really enjoyed walking around the property at dusk and hanging with the fireflies. Brian is a great host, very accommodating and friendly. Even gave me a s’mores supply kit and some fresh eggs when I showed up!!! I really enjoyed my stay and wish I had longer to hang out and explore the area.

place is great, and the host is a gem. Brian ensures everyone settles in nicely and checks in politely, and is genuinely inquisitive and wants to get to know his clients. he clearly takes pride in providing a good experience for the money and that’s refreshing in the current climate of trying to squeeze every dollar out of the average person.
the property itself is well kept and clean, with two functioning bathrooms, as well as a outdoor indoor shower. the hobby farm has ducks chickens and a few charming dogs.
over all a great stay, loved it

Loved staying here. Uncle Brian is such a kind and interesting person who was willing to accommodate so much about our stay there. Even gave us free smores and stickers when we were staying. If you’re traveling through the area, the hippie bus is a must see.

We stayed longer than most (6 days) at Uncle B's Farm and Hipcamp and couldn't have been happier. Brian was so nice and giving to our family and we will always be greatful for that. He had craft items so our daughters could make bracelets. He gave our son some Hot Wheels cars. The farm fresh eggs and corn were the best. He also provided a bag of smores ingredients on arrival. We were there July 4th and he even introduced me to his neighbors so I could hang out with them to set off fireworks and make a show for the camp.
Staying there also let us experience how my mother-in-law (paseed away 1 year ago) lived on her childhood farm located not more that a mile away. It was a deeply moving experience and we thank Brian for that.
When we go through the area again, we will definitely stop in.
I can't recommend Uncle B's Farm and Hipcamp enough.

The campground is whimsical. Bath/shower clean and roomy. Kitchen area great for grilling and doing dishes. Animals and garden add to the charm of Uncle B’s!

The grounds were green, well-maintained, and included trees, shrubery and water. Individual tent sites were well laid out and very pleasant. Amenities like water, bathrooms, and firewood were easily available and more than adequate. Brian is very friendly and helpful, interesting to talk with, and generous in providing welcome gifts of s'mores packs, firewood and fresh eggs. Other guests were friendly and quiet.
My stay was exactly what I had hoped-for and I plan to stay again on my return from Seattle to St Louis.

it’s remote, farm land, campground is funky and quirky and cool, host is super cool - loves music (my taste in music too) - after 30 minutes outside Sioux Falls without seeing a store I thought “you know, I shoulda grabbed dinner first.” Went 7 miles into nowhere and found a down home country town (Monroe) pop 160 where there was live music, 161 people drinking and dancing, and a food truck for dinner. B’s school bus is super cool and the whole adventure was a welcome deep dive into rural SD. Would def go back just to go back.

This is a very beautiful spot to camp! The bathroom/showers were very clean and there is plenty of available cooking options with the outdoor kitchen/grilling area. My wife and I really enjoyed tent camping under the trees. We loved the chickens, roosters and turkeys too! Brian is very friendly and an awesome host. I highly recommend staying there. If you’re looking for something unique or different than the regular campground’s, then this is it!

Uncle B's Farm
This was, by far, the coolest camping experience our family has had - and we've camped a lot. Uncle B goes put of his way to make you feel welcome and appreciated. All the little details of his property make it super special. Our kids didn't want to leave (and neither did we!). He is super hospitable and we would definitely come back. If you need a place to stay - stay here. It was fun, safe, enjoyable, and we were made to feel welcome - just the perfect amount of all of it.

Uncle B's surpassed our expectations. The bus had so many fun and thoughtful touches, as did the entire property--Brian even supplied some fireworks for entertainment! The peacocks, turkeys, and farm dogs were great company. A comfortable, welcoming stay. We'll be sending our friends to Uncle B's

This was our second visit to Uncle B's. Brian is an excellent host! We arrived late and Brian started a campfire for us while we set up the RV. He gave us a smores kit! Brian pours his heart into his Hipcamp and it shows! The shower house is clean and welcoming. There are two large seperate private bathrooms that have large shower stalls. He has added a mini Mt. Rushmore statue along the walking trail. We enjoy watching the peacocks, guinea, and chickens. The license plate swap is a fun extra. We missed seeing Lisa this year! If you are close by it is worth a detour to stay at Uncle B's!

Uncle B’s is the perfect place to camp. We ended up staying in the Hippie Bus. Highly recommend this site. Brian is super friendly and accommodating. The hippie vibe is on point and the dark sky at night is amazing. He did a great job showing us around the property and acclimating us to all the amenities. He gave us hippie swag, a s’mores kit, and firewood. As if that weren’t enough, he even started our fire for us. If you have stumbled on this place, do not bother looking at anything else. This is where you need to stay. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay on our cross country adventure.

Even though we only had a quick overnight on our way through, our family’s time at Uncle B’s was memorable! We arrived later than initially expected and Brian was understanding and flexible about the change of plans. He greeted us with a s’mores kit and hot wheels cars for the kids even though it was after dark. The RV sites are spacious and close to a bath house, outdoor kitchen, and walking path without feeling cramped. My 10 year old and 18 month old loved all of the animals- the free range fowl and friendly pups were a hit!
Brian stopped by to chat in the morning and we enjoyed hearing about his camp and projects in process. We appreciated his generosity and accommodation- felt welcomed from the moment we pulled in.
Highly recommend staying at Uncle B’s on your way out west!

I stayed here as I was traveling back to Michigan from Western Montana and it was absolutely perfect. I booked my stay while I was on my drive after reading review after review after review glowing about the property, about their stays, and about Brian. All of it was true! The place is very sweet; a lovely farm with a small number of animals and lots of plants!! The ease of having a tent already set up cannot be overstated and is easily worth the marginal additional cost. I was planning to car camp, so this was a preferred alternative that required little to no effort on my end. Exactly what I needed after a long day of driving!
Brian is lovely and very kind. The fire had kindling and needles to start it very easily, and wood already set out. When I arrived he brought me a small kit for s’mores which was incredibly sweet, and then later brought me a dozen farm fresh eggs as well. He sent me back with something like 12 plants (a variety of peppers and tomatoes) that are now thriving in my garden. He is incredibly generous and caring. I could not recommend staying here enough!!

Uncle B’s campground is the beset Hipcamp I’ve stayed at. Host Brian was awesome and friendly. We enjoyed all of his animals and especially his chicken eggs. Definitely worth the trip if you’re in the SE of South Dakota. 5-Stars!

This was my first time solo camping trip out of state (I live in MN) and Uncle B's was absolutely wonderful! Not only was the five hour drive worth it - I did not take any major highways so I could admire the scenery- but I was nearly overwhelmed by the beauty of my campsite amongst the trees! I was able to pull my car up onto the grass at the edge of the site and had a beautiful view overlooking acres of corn, a small and lovely pond with ducks just a few steps away, and a gorgeous stand of cedar trees that shaded the tent or dappled it with sun, depending on the time of day. Brian greeted upon my arrival and was such a gracious host. I hopped aboard his cart and he drove me around the property, showing me the inside of the Hippy Bus (wasn't occupied until the following night) his garden area, and a large grass area where a train used to travel through. Throughout my three night visit, he was extremely attentive, answering any questions I had and gave prompt attention to anything I needed. We had strong storms two of the three nights, and he accommodated me when the zipper of the tent blew apart in the severe weather the first stormy night by putting me up in a camper for safety on the second stormy night. The tent sites in the woods are so beautiful, and although the severe weather was a bit anxiety provoking, I also felt somewhat protected being in the woods with those beautiful trees (that were thankfully shorter than the humongous cottonwoods scattered around the area0

We stayed there twice this June. Very kind and communicative host. Hot showers, toilets and electrical and water hook ups were a plus. Loved his gift of s’mores each time we arrived. Got to see a peacock! A great small, pretty campground to stay in when traveling in SD. We stayed in a RV site but the tent sites were awesome, too. Enjoyed walking around his property.

We had a lovely, peaceful stay at this charming campground. The setting was quiet and relaxing, perfect stop on our road trip. Host Brian was incredibly friendly and welcoming—especially with my young son, taking extra time to chat and make him feel included, which meant a lot to us.
