Schmidt's Landing stands out as a unique destination on the South Dakota side of the stunning 26.1-mile-long Big Stone Lake, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. This picturesque lake is renowned for its excellent fishing, where anglers can catch walleye, perch, crappie, bluegill, and bass throughout the seasons. Families will find Big Stone Lake to be an ideal spot for outdoor fun and relaxation. Our Lakeside Suites and camping spots provide the perfect setting for a quick getaway or a memorable family reunion. At Schmidt's Landing, we pride ourselves on our extensive amenities, which include a fully stocked convenience store, boat and pontoon rentals, complimentary kayak and pedal boat usage, a swimming beach, and a private boat launch. Guests can also enjoy our newly updated fish cleaning station, numerous docks, two playgrounds, a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, and a pickleball court. To maintain a clean and comfortable environment, we provide sheets for the beds in our suites, but we kindly ask guests to bring their own blankets, pillows, and bath towels. If you happen to forget, we do have clean options available for your convenience. While pets are not permitted in our two-bedroom suites, they are welcome in the campground
