At Bearded Buffalo Resort, we understand the importance of reconnecting with nature and escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're exploring the trails of Custer State Park or simply relaxing by the campfire under the starry sky, our resort provides everything you need for a relaxing and rejuvenating vacation in the heart of South Dakota's wilderness. We have a general store with drinks, snacks, ice cream treats and tourist items. We also sell firewood. NEW IN 2025! We're opening a coffee trailer next to the general store, opening mid-June!

    Everything about the Bearded Buffalo was a perfect. The sites are all level, fresh gravel, brand new power pedestals at all sites, water and sewer hookups are also all brand new. The general store onsite has beer, seltzers, cold soft drinks, ice etc along with merch. Jeremy and his wife are awesome! Very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend Bearded Buffalo to anyone looking to stay in Custer. It’s conveniently located to all the good parks and the downtown area has just about everything you need. Check out Sage Creek restaurant downtown while visiting, you won’t be disappointed. Thanks Jeremy for the great RV park!!

    We RV camped here over the summer and would stay again. It was located between Custer state park and the town of Custer. Great location to see the sights in the area. We visited Mount Rushmore, wind cave, jewel cave, Deadwood, Devil Tower, Mammoth Site and all of the sites in Custer. This was prefect for us and was dog friendly. We had a full hook up site which was clean and nice. I would recommend staying here!

    We only stayed one night at Bearded Buffalo, but it was a great stop. Super easy in and out with big, full hook-up sites — perfect for our RV. It’s really close to Custer State Park, which made it ideal for exploring before we hit the road again. The property is peaceful with a nice creek running through the back side. The hosts were friendly, and everything was clean and well-maintained. They have a few nice looking cabins there but I didn’t go inside. Also the bathhouses were clean with nice showers. Wish we had more time to stay, but it worked out perfectly for a quick, hassle-free stop. We’d come back!
