Lovely Lake Marion
We chose this campground for its convenient location close to I-95. This campground was full of little surprises and lots of friendly folks. Our site was located close to Lake Marion (it’s a marina too) & had very pretty views of the water & changing leaves. The site was perfectly level. We were only staying one night, so was long enough to fit the entire length of our 32 foot travel trailer and king cab Silverado pickup tow vehicle, allowing us to skip unhooking. The site had water and electricity. The sewer hookup was under construction but soon to be completed. There was a bath house with coin operated laundry within steps of our site. The campground was peaceful & filled with a lot of “snowbird campers” & some permanent sites. The camp/marina store/gas station/local diner building is huge, located right on the road. Easy to find, very convenient. Our nicest surprise was Chrissy’s diner! It wasn’t fancy but boy was the food good & the staff friendly. We were there for wing night: eight different kinds of very nicely sized wings all for the taking for .50 cents a piece along with hot and crispy French fries. All of their entrees were very reasonably priced & were examples of down-home country cooking e.g., country fried steak with mashed potatoes, fried chicken, burgers... It was busy there, w/ both eat-in diners as well as doing a robust carry out business - always a good sign. The owner Jay & his wife were extremely responsive and helpful. V. Affordable.

Serene and beautiful!
We stayed at Bell’s for three days. The lake is just beautiful, it’s very serene and peaceful here. We used our paddle boards and found a beautiful little cove tucked away along the lake. Crissy’s diner at the entrance was a very pleasant surprise. The food was delicious! Country cooking at its finest. I’m a bit of a biscuits and gravy snob… best I’ve ever had! If you’re looking for beautiful scenery, peace and quiet and great food, you won’t be disappointed!

We would definitely stay again!
We so enjoyed our stay at the campground at Bell’s Marina! Right on Lake Marion, the view is idyllic. The owners went above and beyond to get us settled in. They’re new owners of a few months, and the campground isn’t perfect, but evidence is everywhere that they are working hard on improvements. Our site was level gravel with a brand new fire ring, the water view was peaceful and beautiful, and we saw a few alligators swimming on the far side (no swimming in the lake!). You’ll pull into a store and gas station when you arrive to register. Plenty of supplies for your rig or for fishing, including bait. Next door in the same building is a restaurant with delicious comfort food. We look forward to returning!

Not as advertised
Nothing like the website description. Crowded, noisy, great view of discarded junk laying around. Hasn’t been raked in years. Buried cables coming out of the ground. Lots not numbered. Lots of traffic coming through.

Wish we could’ve stayed longer…
We were only there for a night, as a stopping point on a longer journey. While I don’t have any experience with their amenities, store, or restaurant, I CAN say that the consideration for their guests was wonderfully warming and heartfelt. We booked late, arrived late, and yet they stayed late to welcome us. Put us in the spot they felt would best serve our needs, then gave us the freedom to change spots if we needed to. The spots are easy to maneuver and clearly marked. The description may say they don’t have sewer hookups but they do. I’m eager to go back as a planned trip so we can explore the fishing, the lake looked hoppin’!!
