I LOVED the lights in the trees and the use of the shower and kitchen in the house!
Beautiful property with walking trails and the host was very communicative and made us feel welcomed. Sites are well spaced and nicely kept.

This was the perfect place to stop on our trip. Our children absolutely loved your property — especially the swing with the lights and the axe-throwing area, which was a huge hit! We also really appreciated your generosity in letting us use your bathroom and kitchen — that meant a lot after a long day on the road. It was such a pleasure meeting you and getting to chat for a bit.

Overall our stay was fine. We arrived in the dark so it was hard to know which site was ours. It would be helpful to have numbered sites. The primitive cabin has a hot shower, toilet, kitchen and living room. Very old and rustic cabin. Don’t expect much, but we appreciated the hot shower and toilet. The nearby road noise was a bit loud, but not too horrible. Bring your earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. The host was very responsive and kind. We haven’t tent-camped in many years, so maybe we are a bit rustic. 🙂

We had an awesome time. There was plenty of fire wood cut to collect and the camping spots were well maintained. Made it really easy to just pull up unload and set up. Definitely will be planning another stay!

We camped our way from the Everglades to northern Michigan and this was by far my favorite hip camp. An old farm house under a giant magnolia, surrounded by oak trees. It was like something out of a country song. I will be back to South Carolina and I have so much comfort knowing I have a good safe place to rest my head.

Wonderful, cozy campsite. Off the road enough to keep it quite. The lights on the oaks was extra special! The Host communicated perfectly and made me feel welcome, like it was his living room! Lots of room to have a large family camp or a couple of families camping together.

We always have a wonderful time. We love the swing and we love to be able to use the bathroom anytime we need to camping spot is perfect nice and flat this time it rained on us 90% of the time but we still had a great time.

My family and I absolutely loved camping at Too many oaks! The secluded beautiful forest of South Carolina was everything we dreamed of! Comfortable, quiet, and well equipped with a bathroom, kitchen and wide open space! Quick response from host and super friendly!

Got in after dark, light on at the mailbox and sites made it easy to find! Very convenient to have a real bathroom nearby. Sites were level and very comfortable for tent camping.

Great place to pop in for the night. This site has everything you need - electricity, water, fire pit + wood, picnic table, lights, and some activities. Michael was even so kind as to offer us his bathroom and kitchen to use while he was away. I would recommend!

The cabin really makes this site feel like glamping and it’s awesome. Being able to cook and shower then go sit around the camp fire is worth it.

We had such a fun time here! Michael was so friendly and welcoming and the area was beautiful. The outside of the cabin was a little creepy but the inside made up for it. You can tell how much love goes into this place. Campsites are well spaced and have plenty of room. Bring strong bug spray, the ants bite!!

Michael's land provided a great first hipcamp experience for us. Directions were straight forward and easy to follow and Michael was very friendly when visiting to introduce himself and check on us.

Liked it so much we booked it a second night. (Totally out of character for me.)
I would vote this as a unique site. It is definitely on my short list of places I would stay again.
We ended up not staying the night due to storms- so I will point you to my 1st review. 5 stars.

This is a great camp spot for small RV or tent. Very private wooded area. Michael was very accommodating and offered us split firewood for an enjoyable camp fire. Plenty of firewood available but bring an axe to split it. There are several sites to camp on so it would be great a family with kids or small groups. All the sites were very clean and no trash laying around. Michael does a good job keeping the area clean. Would be a great place for kids to enjoy. Wish we could have stayed for a second night.

Beautiful land with the most charming cabin ever for a very convenient restroom/kitchen area. Firewood was readily available which we really appreciated. Even the rain didn’t stop us from having a good time. We loved our stay and would love to camp again! The dogs enjoyed it as well.

A fun adventure! While we were tent camping, we appreciated access to the cabin, even if it was spooky. (Probably not ghosts! Just birds living above the porch.) Michael was friendly and informative in his messages. The sites were well lit and good sized. The chairs and tables, decor, and proximity to the bathroom/kitchen in the cabin were superior to a standard campground in our opinion. We would come back in the future!

This is the best time I have had camping in a long time. Very clean. Very quiet despite a nearby road. Incredible live oaks. So many great birding opportunities. Very private and felt breezy and cool despite the heat of a near 90 degree day. It was nice to be able to retreat to the homestead on the property for water and clean potty. Best of Hipcamp in the Midlands of SC.

This was a great place to camp. The property was very well maintained and quiet. Michael was very accommodating and great with communication of details. My only regret is that we did not have more time at this amazing property. Highly recommend camping here to anyone looking for a place to stay near Columbia or Congaree National Park.

I've been to a lot of campsites. Michael's campground is unique and hard to describe. I'm guessing about a 20 minute ride from the Columbia metro area... yet it feels very remote. First you go down and small dirt road and then the m a n y oak trees begin to unfold. These are oaks like in historic Savannah and Charleston. Then you see the cabin. The cabin is not a public park restroom but a journey back in time to the 1800s. This is the way my great grandparents would have lived. Your wife will enjoy the romantic tree swing and the white lights shining like stars in the oak trees at night. You have to experience it to believe it! THANKS Michael.
