Nice location and large space to park. FHU at very reasonable price. Quiet area and in the middle of all the spaces is a common area with picnic table, some chairs and a fire pit. Even has lights for night. Trash cans at each site.
Very disappointed! The experience could and should be much improved with some effort and care by the owner. First, our site number did not exist. Owner did not respond to text and finally reached him via someone else whose number was on sign. He then told us to park at another site beside an unoccupied trailer. Property is at an intersection of two roads with very noisy vehicles rapidly accelerating from the stop signs. Grass on property very overgrown, 2 feet high weeds in places, trash cans literally overflowing significantly, and junk chairs and other items piled up in a few open areas. We were to stay 2 nights but due to the poor conditions, decided to stay only the first night and only then because we were tired and did not have other easy options. Early morning after the night we requested refund for the second night. Also requested the refund through HipCamp and the owner is acting as if it is not his decision to refund and it is and he is sticking it on the full cost in addition to not at all living up to the expectations from the HipCamp site and pictures.
This is a mixed review.
What I saw when I arrived was not what the pics showed. I had to call the host to have any idea of what to do. He said he was out of town, and I was instructed to go to site number one, not five, as the reservation indicated. So far so good. It was raining, which was fine until I walked to the bathroom, only to find it locked.
So pluses.
-The power worked as it should
Minuses.
-Locked bathroom and host out of town
-overflowing trash can
- seemed like I overpaid at $45 for what I got.
