The setup was perfect. I was a little worried about making it down to the site with my travel trailer (27 ft) but it was doable. Plenty of space to spread out and had plenty of privacy. We would definitely stay again.

I loved this site! Super beautiful with the trees and river. There's ample room for 2 vehicles and 2 tents. No picnic table which would've been nice, but we brought our own and it was ok. The fire pit was nice as well. The river bank was steep so not easy to get in and out of, but I think there's a boat ramp somewhere. I would definitely love to stay here again, overall a really nice spot

Really enjoyed our site. Nice and relaxing by the river. John was very helpful. We would stay again for sure and hope to one day! We had no major issues.

Awesome place. It's quiet and peaceful. The land is well taken care of. I stayed at the hill top site. I couldn't have asked for better place to stay. If you want solitude this is it.

Hideaway
The Hideaway was the PERFECT spot for my pup’s first camping trip! This campsite had the perfect amount of seclusion so she didn’t run into other campsites to make “new friends,” it was right next to an open field for her get her zoomies out, and the river was still super close. John was an incredibly kind and generous host! I met him in the driveway on the way in and mentioned that I forgot a fire starter. He graciously brought a lighter, paper, and extra wood to the Hideway within minutes. On a scale of 1-5 Tents (stars) with 5 Tents being the best… I give Serenity on the Saluda a whopping 10 Tent🏕️ rating!

John’s place was beautiful, this was my first camping trip in a tent and it was perfect to say the least! Even though there are other sites, there is so much privacy. He also let us use his canoe which was nice Saturday afternoon to fish for catfish. Overall the trip was great and would recommend to anyone.

Getting to the site was well marked. Thank you! The area was private, exactly what we were looking for. , our firewood was waiting by the fire ring when we arrived (add on fee). We had plenty of space to spread out and we did not see other campers.
There were hunters nearby, so we stayed away from the property line. There was plenty of place to walk our dogs, and lots of room for our girls to run free. They do not roam far, so they didn't get anywhere near the hunter areas.
We visited in mid-October, and the air was crisp and there were no bugs. Quite a difference from just 3 hours further Southeast.
If we come this way again, we use Hilltop or maybe one of the river sites. Lovely area!

Solo female car camper - felt very safe camping here. My dog did great in the area too. Very decent size of site. Could see neighboring site but just barely and still felt very private.

1st time but I will be back! John is a great host - and the site (Hideaway) was perfect!
John shuttled me to a kayak launch, and the firewood bundle I pre-purchased for 1 night easily covered both nights of my stay.
Quiet and peaceful, lots of deer, and a chill time. Not only will I be back on a solo adventure, I'll be bringing my family, too. Highly reccomend!

John and his wife were excellent host! They give you anything you need! The river tv site is very private! Even with another campsite nearby! It was like being in primitive camping in the woods! We have camped all over and are from Texas, and this was our favorite camp spot! We got to fish right from our spot! We even got to use John’s canoe!

Absolutely awesome campsite. I found this spot while in a pinch because our original camping spot didn't work out and I couldn't have been happier. John is fantastic and answered every one of my panicking phone calls and dumb questions. So here are the highlights on the site:
The Riverside site-
Spacious, Private, Clean, Feels safe and hidden away
Purchased firewood bundles- Great quantity and quality for the price and John hand delivers them to your site. (Be a good neighbor and help him carry the wood!)
River Access- The boat ramp (non motorized boats and boards) is slightly hidden but access is easy enough. Would be great for some lazy tubing with easy little rapids. The river is deep enough for a swim for sure. I did not find the bottom. Temperature of the water was pleasant.
I want to rate this site with no stars for the very selfish reason of keeping it hidden and to myself, BUT, that would not be fair to John and the hard work he has very clearly put into the land.

Nice spot on the river with canoe/kayak to use if needed. Had a nice field nearby we let our dogs run in as there was nobody camped in the hideaway at the time .Host was nice and even told us about some trails he had been making out in the trees by the house.

We loved camping at John’s site with our two dogs! It was private & peaceful with direct access to the river for fishing & kayaking. John was kind and responsive.

I absolutely loved tent camping on the river! The site was large and very well maintained. John was a phenomenal host! It was peaceful, the weather was beautiful, and having the river right in front made it that much more enjoyable.

We loved this site, exactly as described in app and even better. Host was awesome, he stopped by to bring wood and check on us. We set up and buckled in for nothing but peace and quiet. We will be back for sure and the other sites looked as impressive as ours.

Amazing property located on the banks of the river which offered an excellent spot to cool down after a long day of hiking. John was an exceptionally polite and professional host offering nothing but the finest that southern hospitality has to offer. My small group and I enjoyed sitting by the campfire, listening to music and talking while enjoying the soothing sounds of nature around us. It was a great way to decompress from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I would recommend the location and host to anyone!
